Iran has government subsidized reassignment surgery. How'd you miss thay? Hmmmm.....
@QueerKingdomOfficial
@QueerKingdomOfficial 10 часов назад
This is a list of countries that allows trans people to change their legal gender WITHOUT the need for surgery. In Iran, surgery is forced on gay people against their consent and has nothing to do with trans rights. It’s oppressive and evil and a way to erase gay and lesbian people from existence. This list is about transition without medical intervention or surgery, what Iran does is the exact opposite of this. Educate yourself.

I’ve been to Armenia and yes, I could observe first hand the rampant homophobia. I stayed in Yerevan for 1 month and came away with a new perspective one the country. It is FAR away from ever being capable of joining the EU or civilized world more broadly.

While in Chile the general opinion might not be great, it's not violent, you can be free in the street, even if some people disagree or don't like it, they won't bother you as we like to keep things of this kind to ourselves, plus, given that we have equal rights as a normal citizens, there's no protests that can bother people, and hate crimes are basically non-existant. 🇨🇱 🏳‍🌈

The map that shows the “death penalty” for homosexuality (marked by deep red) is almost entirely in the Middle East. Think about that, Queers for Palestine. I also like the phrase about Bangladesh having a long record of respect for 3rd gender “until Islam spread across the country”. Don’t let politics make you forget that Islam is the biggest threat to gays and trans people in the entire world.

Queers For Palestine is BS, it’s like cows for steak dinners. A death wish. People who say that and support Palestine clearly don’t know how to use Google. One of the most deadly places on the planet to be LGBTQ and the vast majority of the general population believes it should be illegal to be queer. But people are clueless and just support things blindly without checking to see if it really matches up with the rest of their goals and worldview more generally.

what if Pakistan's laws are actually completely in line with its homophobia? It is nothing unheard of that people prefer surgery to make their children look like the opposite sex instead of accepting an openly visible same sex attracted child.
@QueerKingdomOfficial
@QueerKingdomOfficial 16 часов назад
A very good point, I know this is common in Iran and would also not be surprised if this is the case. 😞
@inotaishu1
@inotaishu1 16 часов назад
@@QueerKingdomOfficial I am expecting that this is the case here, probably because of izts proximity to Iran, but also because it seems to me that the more patriarchal and religiously extreme a society is, the more likely they are to accept surgery over basically everything that is considered gender unusual behavior. And its not as if Iran is truly transfriendly, not from what I have heard in interviews. They are just THAT homophobic. And sadly I have seen this going as far back as Ovid's Metamorphosis, where a story was so lesbophobic, the woman in question was turned into a man.
@AbnerAgogo
@AbnerAgogo 14 часов назад
The trans issue is a loophole because the Quran doesn’t mention it, neither did Mohammad according to the Hadith. Certainly, it is not respected in the culture as a whole, and would probably end in death, or how they do it in Iran: if you are caught in a homosexual act, you could end up being forced to transition against your will, so that you become a heterosexual woman instead of being a homosexual man. I suppose that’s better than Saudi Arabia where you can be beheaded for being gay??
@inotaishu1
@inotaishu1 13 часов назад
@@AbnerAgogo well, that might come down to the old question as to whether it is less bad to be killed right away or to live your life in agony. After all, if you are forced to transition, what sort of life would you really have then?

Could not pay me a million dollars to risk myself in the other 4 heavily racist, angry, anti queer, anti East Asian, anti European countries. They have trans rights but gay people are still being offed and it’s culturally acceptance to do so. Rather support countries like Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia etc in the global south. Far superior in every way.

As an African I can confirm that Botswana and Mozambique are some of the best this continent has to offer for LGBT people. And. It's still a disaster. South Africa is alright for now but the blacks are not as supportive as the whites of LGBT and the right of marriage may soon be reversed. Jacob Zuma is a monster and is trying to gain power again so he reverse LGBT rights and avoid justice.

Reading your comment reminds me of some leftists that I have seen who claim homo- and transphobia was introduced by European colonialism into Africa, when I really doubt that. Brazil is a time bomb, we gained many rights in recent years but after Bolsonaro's presidency everything changed, Lula is a good president but he won't be eternal and the chamber of deputies is full of radical and religious conservatives, everything indicates that from now on In about 10 or 15 years, Brazil becomes an extreme right-wing evangelical dictatorship, I'm already planning and saving money to leave in the future if things get bad for LGBTs.

We considered retiring in Italy because, um, who isn't! During my research, i found out about how retrograde their society is. I was told ahead of time that Italy is the most conservative country in Western Europe, but I never imagined it was THAT bad. It's not only gay folks. Women are also treated like 💩, and so are the disabled. When I was considering Italy, legislation had been introduced to provide discrimination protections for women, the disabled, and us. The homophobia is such that they preferred denying women and the disabled basic protections in order to deny us. Lets just say that it fell off the list more quickly than a hot gnocchi.

As a gay Brazilian man, I’m very happy to see my country being one of the most protective of LGBTQIA+ rights. I'll give some additional information about Brazil that was not mentioned: 1. If I'm not mistaken, Brazil has the highest percentage of people who identify as LGBTQIA+. It’s 15% (more than 30 million people) of the population; 2. We have the largest LGBTQIA+ parade in the world! And it takes place annually on Paulista Avenue in São Paulo; 3. We currently have 2 transgender deputies in the Brazilian Congress (Erika Hilton and Duda Salabert), a gay governor (Eduardo Leite, from the state of Rio Grande do Sul) and a lesbian governor (Fátima Bezerra, from the state of Rio Grande do Norte - my state <3). 🇧🇷❤️🏳️‍🌈

I am from Brazil and still live here. Things are getting much better over the years, but prejudice is still frequent. Most people aren't homophobic, but the ones who are have a lot of influence on the population, specially religious people. But I do expect that Brazil will be one of the gay-friendliest countries in the world in 10 or 20 years. Discrimination seems more apparent on social media than in real life, as many are afraid of being arrested for physically assaulting or insulting LGBT people because of our antidiscrimination laws. By the way, the less flamboyant you are, the less most people will care about your sexuality and you will be more respected.
