Absolutely love it! My new favourite. Thanks for convincing me to hunt it down and guess what I found the store with 6 bottles laying around collecting dust ... Now they are all mine 💪🏻😁
Benjamin Franklin is rolling over in his grave. Smh.... I live in Florida, we are private. We have great prices and a vast selection. The tax isn't even that high, and they are always open. The state is still buying from private markets, and those private markets are only going to allocate so much to the state because they are still running a profit margin to those private businesses. The state doesn't have a state run distillery. Why as a private business would i allocate more than 5% of my product when on each bottle I'm running a loss? It's not worth it. So, they only sell so much to the state and still provide to the private markets so they can meet their profit margins. If it wasn't for States being private and private companies running business, state run stores wouldn't exist, except for maybe one in the middle of the state, and only one store. Like there is only One gun store in all of Mexico and it's state owned.
PA's state-run/controlled liquor began with the first governor. He was a religious nutcase, who chose to *inflict* his personal philosophy on everyone else by controlling the sales. That is just *one* aspect of PA's Tyrannical legal structure. -- After living here since 2000, if I had known 50% of what I know *now*, I would *NOT* have applied for a job here. I left Utah (Salt Lake City) where religion pervades just-about-everything... and came to another fouled-up state.
Forty bucks!! WTF happened in 3 years? Total Wine has this for $115 now. hot damn. I was curious about this Wheated Bourbon but now no way. almost triple the price in 3 years. Something is wrong. Anyway thanks for the super helpful review. I'd try it at $40 but not for $115.
Yep, they are alot alike. But you can't just compare 2 bottles, because every bottle is different. I've had 5 bottles of Jameson, they were all different. I've had 3-4 bottles of Proper, and they were all different.
Just opened this and love your review. So good!!! Really impressed with this MGP even though it’s now a little lower proof at 108. Rivals a couple of my EC Barrel proofs!
For me I love Jameson, Redbreast 12 and that is about it. I just had my 1st go at Proper No12 and I like the sweetness of it. Its really nice on the rocks. Il try it with coke (the drink not the powder he he he) later but I dont know what the buzz is off it yet. Some whiskys make me want to start fights lol I have to be careful. Jameson turns me into a laughing chatty friendly buzz. Jack Daniels will have me end up in jail. Dont ever give me that stuff I be like a wild animal.
Just got a bottle of the BIB and it was excellent. I can't believe I am saying this, but I did detect juicy fruit on the nose and palate. WTF?? This is a very good addition to the collection!
Couldn’t make it buddies some last minute school thing for the kids popped up. Neil congrats on the pregnancy best of luck. El jefe is the boss for a reason dodging baby bullets lol. Just started seeing EC Rye around here but by now I’m not to anxious to pick one up. Based on your impression of it. I think I’ll wait on it more lol. Cheers buddies and also to Bethlem 😜🥃🥃
Good stuff boys, I can tell you its 100% an incredible experience, my dad and I did it last year and wow what an incredible experience it was, HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!! Good to see you guys back on th3 Tube!
According to The Bourbon Buddies…. This was the best experience ever!!!! Jeff was celebrating his birthday the day we went and Neal was beyond thrilled. I think wifey knocked it out of the park on this birthday surprise!!!!
Bourbon drinkers seem to enjoy Proper Twelve. Irish Whiskey drinkers typically don’t like it. I’m not a fan. I get sugary vanilla up front and a super spicy thin finish with Proper Twelve, nothing I’m going to have as a neat pour. I enjoy Powers Gold Label more than both and it’s cheaper than Proper Twelve in Ohio.
@@nealmccauly7482 Powers Gold Label, Redbreast, Green Spot, JJ Corry, Dingle, Jameson Black Barrel, Tyrconnell, McConnell’s…there are a lot of Irish Whiskeys that are much better in my opinion.
I'm originally from the Finger Lakes Region but have since moved to AZ. I found this at a hole in the wall liquor store down the street of all places. I had to pick up a bottle and I'm excited to try it but I I'm gonna wait for my wedding reception in October!
@@jedpusczykowski4955 hey Jed, I just checked our email, and I didn’t any from ya. It could have like blocked it something. Happens sometimes! But, if you get a chance, try emailing us again!
This bourbon has terroir! The nose reminds me of walking through a Spring field in the Finger Lakes. The oak, fruit, grain, sweetness, and even a little flintiness of shale are all very clearly defined. This and really displays the character of the area. Super interesting. Really good.
MGP picks are good and all, but it’s rare to find picks that are 10yr+. Every knob pick I’ve tried has been trash. The value behind getting an allocated $40 EHT small batch is that you’ll know it will be good and it’s cheap. Same is true with Stagg Jr for $60, ECBP for $65, or any BTAC or Van Winkle - insane values for retail.
Totally. When you can get them at retail, they are huge hitters. The MGP picks over 10 years are pretty much done, same with Knob Creek. All the secrets and hidden gems are exposed now. There’s no hiding now 🥃
