The answer to why they threw it is simply because of what the team was saying, Pete had Russell on a pedestal. These teams that give players these ungodly deals. Are just hexing themselves. It just seems like, and as soon as they get the money, something bad happens to either get hurt or they can't perform.There's always something. And I am from portland oregon, where they gave dame, lillard, ungodly amounts of money, and then what happened? Same thing. Instead of giving one player tens or hundreds of millions of dollars be smart, invested 5 to 6 players. I fully believe that with that play call in the Super Bowl was to make Russ the “hero” to heal the locker room relationship and show everyone “see? Russ is this team” when in reality it was the defense and run game that did everything.

The same players from Seattle who rag on Russ are the same players who withheld the info that Tate was smashing his then GF. That's the real reason they hate him because he left them out to hang after that. They were still good as long as the team and specifically defense showed out but as soon as the defense started to crumble and Russ couldn't win it all as a one man show, they started getting frustrated. Russ has done nothing outwardly wrong so unless people have info about dark dealings in the background they really should just leave the man alone.

the seahawks were 7-9 two years in a row with pete and marshawn with most of the defense, had they started Matt Flynn that year pete woudl've been fired and no SB for the seahawks, im from seatlee, Russell Wilson was the reason we were ever a competent team
Idk where Russ is now, but as a 9ER fan this man sill haunts me. Kutos to Schneider for drafting him and Pete to start him. One of the most accurate and deep ball passers i have ever witnessed. Damn i hated when we played the Seahawks especially when it was at Century Link. Good but bad times lol. Kutos Seahawk fans! That was fun to watch.
When the Wilson to denver trade happened....most everyone in media was saying how Seattle got screwed and what a great steal it was for Denver.......how quickly that narrative turned to Seattle stealing from Denver. Lets be clear.....Pete Carroll didn't get the credit he deserved for being able to win with Wilson..,..,.. as for the SuperBowl win...I remember how Russ wasn't given any credit for it.
