Hello! My name is Ruby and I'm a self-taught illustrator making colorful art in Dallas Texas! If you're reading this thank you so much for being here! ♡
Great tour! I especially loved your monochromatic man/frog skeleton spread and your portraits backed by blue (on left) and pink (on right). I love your colors and all the variety in subjects that you paint. And yes to garlic in everything 😃
First off I'm like number 111 🎉 I love your personality and art, this was such an enjoyable sketchbook tour! You have a fun style and even the stuff you didn't like were nice to me, like the girl who was like a giant sitting on/inside the house was very cool perspective wise. And for you and anyone else who reads this, when it comes to IG and low engagement... it's not always such an ego driven, I need validation thing. Sometimes it's just wanting acknowledgement and a sense of community through people who enjoy what you do, and that's really okay! We want others to experience with us and when we don't get that, it can make things feel lonely. 💜 Looking forward to your next video, def subbing!
omg hi lucky number 111! First off, tysm for all your kind words I'm so glad you enjoyed the tour :) & secondly, thank you for that new perspective. It's definitely a much kinder one that I'll keep in mind from now on & I hope others can resonate as well <3 :')
Great work! I actually liked the colour combo on the girl and the parrot, like main colours but a different hue. Keep it up, you'll soon get to 2000 hopefully!
Hey, not putting anyone down but I have been drawing everyday (even while sick) since 2016, and drawing everyday can be done, it just takes two things really. 1: A estream love for art, and 2: a hard will to keep doing it. Everyone has time for art even if it's less then 5 mintiues before bed or during lunch. You can even teach yourself to draw faster.
That sounded very introverted HAHA (which I kinda am sometimes lol). I can talk for hours with the right people but talking to myself is more challenging. Hopefully it’s something I can get better at with more practice :)
Girrrrrlllll I just found your channel and it’s my emotional support right now lol I love everything about your sketches and sketchbook tour!, so satisfying to watch sending you a huggie 💖
Thanks for the recommendation! I love the variety of colors they come in. Would you say it’s a sketchbook for only pencils & pens? Or do you use wet media on them?
Very inspiring i have a really weird process so I sketch like a lot I might pump out 15 spreads in like a few hours then I just save them up so when I do feel like painting I got so much to choose from .. i feel like I created so much artwork like this I did 250 pages in 5 1/2 months .. filling it with heaps of sketches at the start helps with not being so precious with the book to begin with .. just say a start one page with a butterfly but there’s still heaps of space left I will come back to the page and add other stuff to fill the page that way I’m always pushing to create something different.. Enjoyed your video can’t wait to see what you create next .. ❤
15 spreads in a few hours?? :O That’s insane!! I’m trying to be like you haha! Maybe one day I’ll have enough fuel to just go ham in my sketchbook like that :) I’m glad you enjoyed & tysm for being here <3
I absolutely adore all those bright colours! What were you using, I just have to get some of those colours? I bought some cheap neon paints but they just look awful and grainy. I love your variety of art and colours. Very inspiring.
I love these sketchbooks! I use the soft cover version Moleskine art books lay flat and have thick cardstock like pages. I love it for their smooth sturdy paper. Might make a good addition to your sketchbook line. Happy creating ❤
i love your art style so much it's so fun and colourful <3 i had a set of the old 30 colours that came in a purple box and honestly i didn't like them because of how streaky they were and how floppy the brush was 😭 but these look a lot better! would you say you could tell a difference? 🫶
Thanks soo much!! <33 && yes!! There’s definitely a huge difference between the markers. The 30 set markers feel more “brush like” (floppy w little control) & these feel more sturdy like a marker, (but still capable of making “brush like” strokes) :)
unfortunately a lot of the corny self help advice turns out to be true but the thing is you have to come to those conclusions yourself otherwise it just sounds dismissive and dumb. love ur videos so far btw!!!
yes, I can relate to the (seasonal) depression being really hard to deal with within this time of year. During the holidays, I didn't feel motive like previous years, and with the new year, just life throws you surprise. But one main thing that helped me was if I did something, one little thing could be to make my bed, do laundry, create some art, etc. I would feel I accomplished my day and started over a fresh day. Taking each day, day by day (or even hour by hour), the small things matter more than anything. Thank you for the video and for being transparent about this topic. Enjoy the rest of your day/evening. and take care! 😊💞
I love that! I do the same thing :) esp making my bed in the morning bc then each day starts with a victory! Thank you so much for being here & I hope you're well <3 @@soph_sketxhes
