Morecambe Bay Poverty Truth Commission is coming together to make a difference by sharing the stories of people with lived experiences to change the understanding and challenge the stigma of poverty.
What a really interesting role and pilot. The range of people and organisations which are connected with this role and its purpose are so broad. Thankyou for sharing this experience out of the Poverty Truth Commission Wellbeing Group. 'Every county having several of Lorna...' is a good challenge for us in Wythenshawe, Manchester.
I find living on uc with my young son bloody hard sometimes I don't think I can cope with it bloody sending bank statements ID I don't know how 2 do it uc they said we could stop Ur money

7:21 ''It is not disobedient, a nuisance, nor selfish to want a better, more fulfilling life. A fulfilling life can be achieved by acts of attentive listening without stigma or judgement.''
6:59 ''Not giving poverty in all its abhorrent forms truthful considered attention amounts to a considered betrayal, either that or an outright considered denial.''
1:29 ''The soul and heart of any compassion is action.'' Therefore, we will stand together to be united against poverty, social degradation, and homelessness.''
I wonder if this man has internet more than 2 days a week and things for him to do? Remember if he does not then it is unfit for habitation, well it would be for the illegals.
Don't you just love the way people make life terrible and hard for people… We're constantly harming ourselves why? Insane agreed? Selfishness… We do things to ourselves to make all of us suffer so much more than we should. I'll never understand why people can't do good for each other for all of us
I would like to see a full list of benefits, council tax relief? Free prescriptions? Free dental treatment? PIP? Travel allowance? Also, if couples are married did they skip the in sickness and health vow or replace it with only with carer's allowance?
Unfortunately, if a claimant case isn't in the training manual it really does seem like the nitwitted BO is incapable of working out the real situation, eligibility & priority etc. As usual, claimants wait for everything depending on current political whim's. You really have to figure out a way of buying your own. Money talks, poverty squawks.
We struggle to stay warm. Had our propane tank filled a month or so ago, cost $900.00. Electric bill 500.00. my God, how do most folks take care of themselves???
The older lady has such a brilliant idea of a group of friends sharing meals at one another’s place once a week. Taking turns entertaining once a week makes perfect sense. For each night there will be heating and food one place at a time.
Thank you for sharing this, your experiences have been enough to damage anyones mental health. Thank god you are helping others through what sounds a minefield.
Why is that school in Morecombe not having the heat on ? My children's schools further down the Northwest coast are constantly got their heating on. It's disgusting when a school cannot have their heating on. Should be a given.
Lard for the birds has gone up from 36p to 60/70p. Just fat! I got an electric throw for Christmas, it has really helped a lot, so cheap too. I got some flasks so I can have tea instead of boiling the kettle all the time. I use a slow cooker, also buy more frozen food which is much cheaper
Thank you for highlighting this dreadful situation you have found yourself in. Workplaces and benefits are inhuman. I wish you peace in your life. You are an amazing person.
This is an odd comment as you have to have internet to apply for benefits or jobs as well as banking disappearing from high streets. This is digital poverty and nothing to be ashamed of other then ignorance and misinformation of course.😅
@@888ssss most schools release information on social media along with school based apps. During the pandemic families using devices saved education in this country x
Sorry to hear of this man's plight. He doesn't say what work he did as a younger man and if he ever reconnected with his father or family. Hope life improves for him. He seems like a nice person.
So cruel. This lady and her husband are doing their best. That is their home. There is nowhere to rent. Does the evil rich bastards that run your beautiful country care if a disabled person is turned out in the streets? No. As long as they still have their luxury lifestyle they could not care less. Time for a full scale revolution.
