I absolutely LOVE saving money so I prefer to DIY verses paying someone else. I've been this way for most of my life and over the years, I've accumulated a vast array of skills and interests. This channel focusing not only on DIY Home Repairs but also Smart Home IOT, Plant Care, Fish Parenting, Lifestyle Blogs, Cooking, Virtual Reality, Flight Simming, Gadgets, Audio and Video, Home Theaters and a variety of other things that the average geek might find of interest. I am detailed oriented so typically my videos are in tutorial form but I also upload videos of things I enjoy doing.

As my "formal" RU-vid journey just started in 2022, I hope to keep adding content and as this channel grows, so will the video and editing quality.

Many thanks to @Sharon She So Fabulous for encouraging me to upload content. Her channel is a blast and I am often featured there as well.

Thanks for watching!

How did you close the hole from the shower hose? Water drips into it, i'm trying to find best solution.

@@YGelfman I didn’t and really don’t have a problem with water dripping. The hose doesn’t leak. Hmmm….I might have to leak under there.

Excellent DIY video. I have a replacement shower valve kit, and I bought the sharkbites threaded one end. A walk in closet is on the other side, much easier to cut out like he does than to remove the vinyl shower wall. Thanks Ron!

Question - I have porch with gable roof (12x16) with 10feet high from ground. Wondering if posts for porch should be exactly "under" the outer wall (parallel to house Wall) or can Gerd/beam (horizontal to support porch) can be placed "right under the outer wall - parallel to house" OR 1 foot inside (towards the house) with helical posts into ground ? Please let me know If I have been able to articulated my question properly for you to under stand precisely. Thank you in advance.

So I did all this jut like this, but the toulet still runs. I've made adjustments in the chain for the flapper, fill tube, everything and can't figure out what's going on. The water and all else is at the right fill line too. If I leave the tank lid off it seems ok, though there is trickling going on somewhere. Sometimes the flapper doesn't manage to seal right or the chain gets in the way, but I've done all I can think of to adjust for that by shorting the chain as well. My other two toilets never have this problem but they both have the same type of toilet guts that is completely different than this Korky universal kit for the toilet I keep having issuea with. The last kit I had was different too and used a plastic adjustable screw dial. It wasn't that old but had problems so replaced with this Korky, and still don't know what the problem is

Ron, just two notes that may be needed for code: 1) I think you need to tack the romex within X inches of the box 2) You should grab some construction or structural screws for framing. Drywall screws aren't rated for sheer strength. Grab a nail and each type of screw, put each in a piece of wood halfway, then whack from the side with a hammer. You'll see the nail bends, the drywall sheers off, and the construction screw holds up well. Obviously what you did will work just fine, just notes and improvements for next time. Something new to learn each day

very quick but it would be quicker if you just put the water back and not try to worry about the temp. The temp of the water coming out wont hurt the fish.

You put dechlorinater in a half tank full of fish instead of the tub of chlorinated water.. big no no IMO 😉

Yup....just make sure there is 4" gap or less in between to meet code requirements depending on your location

Does skim-coating with hot mud work over painted walls? Or will it lift the paint? Thx in advance
@DMB-pe8hk
@DMB-pe8hk 15 дней назад
What if the wall has been painted instead of covered with old tile mortar? Could you still skim coat it with hot drywall mud, or would it cause the drywall paper to lift and bubble? (Im sure you can use the regular mud, bc it just fits instead of chemically facing like the hot mud-- so the new wet mortar would make that kind of mud re-dissolve... so fast, hot, chemical-set mud only...right? )
