Hi Ron. That bird built a 6 bedroom house,6.5 bath with chef’s kitchen, theater room , laundry suite , custom home. She and her husband is subscribed to you and Sharon’s channels. Please always use a mask when dealing with birds .
Hey Ron, I had to put cages over ALL my exhaust fans: Kitchen exhaust, bathroom exhausts & dryer exhaust vent. I had so much nest material in my dryer vent that my towels never got dry. I started watching the vent flap & sure enough, mama bird was busy. She was not happy that she could not get back in the vent! Excellent topic!
I knew he was going for the clothes hanger 😂😅😂😅... cheap, simple and effective. I did the exact same thing. I learned that birds will come back the next year so I also hung a bird house several feet away under the deck. My hope is they will find I've served an eviction notice on the vent but will instead inspect the bird house and move in. Good job Ron!!!
Yes Ron had to do that a few years back and found that this works when birds try to build a nest on ur porch, clear the area & use a cloth with lavender or peppermint oil and rub the area and it's bye bye🐦🐦👍🏽💯🤗
Thank you for your help. The very first thing I did was panic. Maybe because I am a woman and I’ve never had to deal with things like this before. My husband is at work and he IS used to this happening when he was growing up. The thought of something inside my house makes me extremely nervous. We just had a roof replaced and I believe that is how the bird get in. I could hear scratching noises in my kitchen ceiling.
Hey there Ron The DIY Guy!!! Good seeing that you survived so far after the Thursday night live shenanigans. lol 🤣😂🤣 Thank you for sharing and have a blessed and happy weekend. Aye!!! 🦾🦾🦾
Hi Sharon and Ron. Ron you are a jack of all trades. Sharon is blessed to have you in her life as a boyfriend and handyman. Thanks for sharing with us.
Thanks for showing a proper vent cover. We've had this same problem, had a professional come out and install a "bird proof" vent cover and it took the birds no time at all to figure out how to lift the vent with their beaks while flying. 🙄 But I think that cage would definitely do the trick.
Don't forget on dryer vents to monitor for lint build up on that cage. Also, modern dryers have backpressure lights built in and you can buy cheap aftermarket backpressure monitors too.
Hi Brother Ron😄The birds were moving in for free lol Nice job removing the bird nest and sharing tips with us if we ever have that problem. Have a awesome great wonderful bless day 🥰🥰
This was helpful. Thanks. I didn’t know birds crawled in there. I was thinking you may be able to use one of those 3ft grabber tools or a shopvac maybe?
Yes those birds makes nest every where around your house one made a nest under my deck and one time in my wreath on my door it had eggs in it I had to wait till they hatch lol !
I discovered this after having issues with my ac not cooling my top floor. Some wires were damaged and repaired. Now the flap is stuck open. Does that affect cooling the house?
Really depends on where you vent is located. If it’s near an exterior wall then yes. If it’s further away, you may need to access the attic or cut open drywall and splice the hose…There’s always a way!
Yes, fear factor. My car is covered in poop and they dive bomb me when I come home like it’s THEIR house. Even poop on Amazon deliveries. Single old lady so not enough money for a pro and not enough strength to rent tall ladder.
Do not get someone to do it for you , they will charge you 500$ and they will not clean properly. U need to throw some liquid and all kind of stuff for the smell U can do it for 40 It is not worth it at all Amazon u can buy the cover for 10$ And u can rent the ladder 29 $ from home depot
