I just got a g8 and I installed a new GT badge on the back. Should I make a video about it? Probably not............ Dude , dont fall into the lame trap of putting Holden Badges on your car. A. It looks ugly like a metal cookie pattern cutter tool. B. It doesnt make you cooler because you can tell people who dont know what it is C. As much as you like to think otherwise; At the end of the day, your title says PONTIAC - Be proud of AMERICAN name.
@@Tanner_Teves Hey buddy I'm going to say this with love. If you're going to be a movie producer and you're going to make a documentary, then prepare for your movie to get reviewed by the critics. People who critique you in positive light aren't the only ones allowed to watch RU-vid. ✔️ And I'm pretty certain that the RU-vid policy and guidelines don't state that you are only allowed to leave constructive, positive comments on someone's video. Do you realize that six out of 10 GA owners are obsessed with Holden facade.? That's because they're cattle and they see other people do it and so they feel like they have to do it too. Just trying to give you friendly advice on how to not be a sheeple.
@d.a.s.3921 Good thing I’m not a movie producer and I am simply doing this for fun! You can comment all you want, I’m not stopping you. I also simply do not care about being a “sheeple”. The rear badge was there when I bought the car and I liked it…simple as that. It’s my car and my channel, not yours. You’re free to criticize, I’m free to disagree and keep doing what I want to do.
Great, until you can't find an A/C compressor disharge hose. If you live in northern Canada, this will not be an issue. If you live in Texas. Look out. You will not be driving this car in the summer if that hose springs a leak.
The G8 is like Holden and GM had a pair of twins in Australia, one they called Commodore VE and the other was sent overseas to the US and given a foster home, a trusted couple well known to GM called the Pontiacs, they gave their new adopted baby the name G8. Like twins raised apart you still get some differences but essentially the same. It's awesome Australia and the US has this Auto connection. Just a shame GM could have allowed Holden to continue just making specialty cars for specific market, both here and abroad. hi end power 4 door sedans and utes that could have really created a rare situation where these cars future was a cooperative development of HSV and your American equivalent. HSV have been doing Chevys now for some years.
I appreciate that you think my videos are high quality, means a lot. I mostly just film and edit everything on my iPhone. For the POV driving just get a used GoPro for $100 and that’s really the only equipment I use!
Well it was tuned previously so I don’t think it gained much, if any at all. Just runs safer now that the Air/Fuel is good with the new exhaust and the transmission tuning feels a lot better.
I broke the center console piece replacing the window switch and was considering getting the carbon fiber piece to go over it. This video relieved me of my doubts. Thanks man!
I’m looking at one around my area, it’s a gt 09, 24k with 55k miles, 2 previous owners and allegedly only personal use. Thoughts worth looking into it?
Absolutely worth looking at, hard to find G8’s with low miles. Is it stock? If so, be sure to save for a DoD delete. Even at 55k miles it can still fail and cause a lot of damage.
@@Tanner_Teves from the description on their website it seems like it is. Do you know about how much it would cost? And what other mods you’d recommend?
@@Batssassin It depends where you go, one shop here quoted me 8k the other 4k. For mods I’d do intake, headers, catback, DoD delete/cam kit, 3.45 gears (if staying NA, 3.27 for boost), coilovers, Brembo brake kit, dash kit + head unit
It’s ironic that I’m selling a g8 to buy a 2011 tsx and you did the opposite lol. Other than that with some performance mods you could a bit of zip to the Acura but in no way is it a fast car regardless. I just want a reliable daily driver that looks good.👍
Just bought 2009 G8 GXP (White) to add to my 2017 SS (Black) and my 2022 CT5-V Caddy (White). Can't wait until it arrives. The GXP is a manual 6 speed. (The SS and CT5-V are automatics.) I love these cars. The last of the fast ones. Will hold them all for a while. Building a nice stable. May buy another SS and add a Whipple to it just for fun. Nice video. Love the car.
The OEM silver trim was hideous, I ended up putting OEM black ppv door handles in mine and I also got OEM carbon fiber trims from Australia from an HSV. Such a huge Improvement
I put one on a few weeks ago. I put camaro led lights in place of reflectors. They are sequential blinkers, brake lights, and a white back up light. Soldered them instead of shitty clamp fittings. It looks sweet af
Yup! I don’t have any shame for it either, not paying twice as much for something that looks similar and will have zero effect on “weight savings” lmao.
@@ChingyDsm_Evo_Ls Been thinking about it, got my eye on something that’s for sale near me. It’s listed for sale rn n if the numbers are right I may part ways but I’m not in a rush nor do I need to sell
You don’t have to do Brembo’s if you only have a GT. I replaced my pads and rotors with a PowerStop kit for around $400 and that was 2 years ago. Brakes have held up great since.
Good old simple car modding content. This brings me back to high school days coming home to watch exhaust videos on RU-vid! Not infused with giveaways sponsorships or senseless destruction. Great video! Sounds excellent!
Thanks bro that means a lot! Simple car modding videos is exactly what I’m aiming for! Nothing fancy, no crazy editing, no jargon, etc. I wish I had the funds to upload more frequently (well I do but I am stingy lol) but still enjoy it and glad you do too!
