Welcome to my retro vans! Follow me as I buy and repair classic vans in Japan before shipping them out to the US.
On this channel, I will cover old-school Japanese vans from the 80's and 90's. These JDM (Japan Domestic Market) vehicles are rare and so much fun to drive! Most of the vintage cars I review will be 4WD, but I'll make sure to include some special 2WD beauties as well.
Feel free to hit me up with any questions you may have about these vans, including how I buy them from the Japan auction all the way through to the export and import process.
You can check out all the cars I export at Javan Imports. www.javan-imports.com
Хороший бусик. Несколько у них минусиков есть. Это низкое расположение кпп, бак, раздатки. Дизель мотор очень беспокойный. Боится перегрева, слабая головка гбц.
Possibly looking to buy one of these. Seems reliable and a fun conversation starter. I guess the only drawbacks I keep coming across are price and parts.
Awesome van! I got a '94 2WD Townace with the same engine and in a light brown and grey color way. I was wondering where you source your parts from? I've had some trouble finding break pads, belts, etc..
The Granvia is what the European version of he Hiace was based on. They look almost identical but the Hiace was only ever sold as a utility vehicle and never received any of the fancy stuff you get in the Granvia
My Toyota Hiace (96 with the 2L engine) does 400-1200km each week... all she needs is about 200ml of oil after 2000km (because i always keep the oil level at max and abit above for the valves. And i drive it hard to make sure it gets 200ml fresh oil every 2000km... Oilchange 8000km. Golden engines!
Nice review, we have historically sold the StarWagons here in the states, but have quickly fallen in love with these. The LWB model is a huge plus too!
Looking at buying one of these it’s a 96 estima Lucida 56k miles, I’m in the US and wondered how I’d be able to get a new timing belt and water pump when it needs to be changed
Those can be found readily online, especially if you're looking at the gas engines which were available in the US Previas. Easiest way to do this is to find the part number then search for it online. Good luck and contact me if you're still in the market for one!
@@MyRetroVans I’m still in the market I haven’t bought the one I’m looking at yet the one I’m looking at is actually a diesel version that’s what has me worried about parts

These vans were sold in canada in the early 80s, same styling never knew the name though, my uncle was a toyota sales rep back then and even was in a toyota jump commercial. He sold one to my grandmothers then boyfriend and they came to visit us. I have always wanted one since then, that was in 1983.
