There was a time when one could find incredible stuff on the net (talking about music here). With a "little mule” as my companion, I would download all my favourite artists from more or less confedential sites. I was pretty hooked on unearthing The bootleg, The unreleased version, The track which couldn't be found on a cd, The song of those musicians I loved and have always loved. And then the record industry, and then copyright laws, and then rightful owner laws, and then Hadopi...and then no time. Today it's quite often on RU-vid that you can find neat stuff, from poorly-filmed concerts to vanished LP’s to improbable duets to unlistenable versions (Genesis and Beatles fans will understand...) put online by various enthusiasts who gain nothing except the satisfaction of a "thumbs-up". It was while hunting for these kinds of nuggets that I realized that you can find anything and everything on the net except what you're looking for! That's why I created the "R&UT"
I agree with a post I saw earlier about Jeff Lynne. If he ever had writer's block, he would write a song about it. I'll bet it would be another fantastic song too. After all, he is a perfectionist, so it is impossible for him to write a bad song. ❤
sin duda los mas grandes, el inicio de todo lo que fue el rock, el pop, junto con los stones y hendrix... que epoca maravillosa para los que la vivimos
God, I remember seeing the movie "The Shout" in about 1979 with my girlfriend. I was about 19. It was my first encounter with an archetype - the demon lover. A Curious Feeling was the soundtrack for this Alan Bates, John Hurt, Julie Chistie, psycho-thriiler. It should have had a quadruple X rating because I nearly had a panic attack. Since then, I've only met one person who saw that movie. She understood how I felt. She was 60.
This Collection reminds me of Cruising around in my brand new 1977 Black Cutlass Salon with the Killer Cassette Deck Stereo. I bought I Robot, recorded it and it sounded so good along with some good Columbian Red Bud. That LP turned me into a lifelong fan and so good to be reminded of the initial joy of finding this group of musicians at that time.
This was a favorite album of mine. Some of the American albums I like better than the English versions or selections. Meet the Beatles, Beatles 2nd album, Beatles IV, Yesterday and Today and Rubber Soul.
Is there a list out there indicating from what shows / years the songs were recorded? If the music "does not exist" (as stated on the album), then where does it come from?
When I was a Boy, I had a Dream; her name was Georgette. I started to listen ELO on the radio & began liking ELO's music when I was in 4th - 5th grade in Rochester, MN, because of my two best friends' (brothers Kevin & Randall) Sweet Talkin sister, Georgette. Whenever I was over their house, I remember her playing ELO on their hi-fi turntable. One morning, I remember asking what she was making in the kitchen, after she offered me a bowl of cereal. My two friends (her younger brothers) laughed & teased me in front of her, calling out, "someone has a crush on their older sister. I must have had a frozen and embarrassed expression. Because she told me not to pay attention to her them. It was soo embarrassing and weirdly & felt comforting at tgw same time. She had some sort of Strange Magic over me.❤ One day she asked me about my older brother. I don't remember many conversations with her after that. I remember thinking she and my brother having that same 1970s hair that Susan Dey & David Cassidy.🎉. Turns out I would again be walking in my older brother's shadow in high school. This time three girls liked my brother who was four years older than me. Debbie, Margaret, & Melissa met my brother through his very good friend and Debbie's older brother😂❤. True story. I've looked for Kevin and Randall online a few times but stopped short of reaching out. Still not entirely sure why. I think some memories are best in the youth of our lives.❤
Magnificent!! I’ve lost track of how many times I’ve played this over and over! I would be BEYOND HAPPY If I could have a hard copy of this somehow!!😍😍😍
@@RUTRareUnreleasedTracks this is a cover, the band sounds similar but the other album is god. the other elo sounding band singer died soon after hitting it big, 2yrs later. they owned the rights and never touted after that and only did in uk and europe.
There is or was a Record Store called Sam's in Ardmore Pa. I would buy all my vinyl and dead tickets there. When you wall in the front door there it was, high enough so no one would touch it. 1969
Don't be concerned about other's opinions of what you care about ... don't waste your time or emotions in that regard. Love whomever or whatever YOU LOVE.
❤ mi música favorita cuando estaba con la edad de mi juventud y soñaba 😊 con conquistar el 🌎 bellos tiempos con mis músicas favoritos, ELO, siempre éxitos
This album cover "banned and recalled" within weeks of release is now worth anywhere between $3000 and $150,000 depending on condition.....not the album....the jacket for the album.
