Sir, What is the success rate of the surgery of atlantoaxial dislocation? Is there any risk to the life of the patient? Can patient live his normal life after surgery? Please help sir.
@mohammadda4730
@mohammadda4730 8 дней назад
It’s risky surgery but it has to be done I would say it’s successful surgery in 95% But complications can happen and it’s manageable Just trust god and it will be fine

nicely explained but Why you did not removed the contralateral pedicle
@DrKshitijChaudhary
@DrKshitijChaudhary 7 месяцев назад
Can’t remove contralateral pedicle because it is not visible. It is beyond the dura. This is lateral position. And it is not necessary to remove contralateral pedicle as it is not causing dural compression.

Nice presentation dr, but why exactly is the use of thoracoplasty for rib hump correction back in the harrington rod and luque wires era a problem. Even to this date we know that thoracoplasty is superior compared to the most up to date direct vertebral derotation methods for rib hump correction.
@DrKshitijChaudhary
@DrKshitijChaudhary 7 месяцев назад
I have not done a thoracoplasty for a typical AIS ever. It is not necessary with modern instrumentation. Also thoracoplasty will compromise pulmonary function.
@education7281
@education7281 6 месяцев назад
i understand but sometimes this is what it takes to get substantial and even total elimnation of the rib hump for those with stiff rib cages and large thoracic curves. Does the pulmonary function compromise outweigh the cosmetic advantages, and does the pulmonary function loss permanent or just temporary and returns back to normal pre operative levels for the patient?@@DrKshitijChaudhary

I use pelvic traction like you do for casting. It works well. No pins required. Will use about 20-30 percent of BW

Sir can c1 c2 fusion surgery be helpful for a down syndrome boy with the following report:- *rotatory antero posterior atlanto axial dislocation. anterior displacement noted about 7.0 mm. *unfused anterior arch of c1 noted. *posterior displacement of odontoid process causing bony canal stenosis. Please sir guide me
