Love it! I purchased it a little bit ago and I've been enjoying it. But I do have one issue, the nodes always fail if I try to do more than one flare in a single composition. Any thoughts on how I can get around this?
This is such a great tutorial @millolab !! Would love to see more like this, also... would love to learn about your process when approaching this kind of animation! That is a course I would pay for on Udemy to get the "Breakdown" and application of how to build something like this in similar ways to other effects one would like to reproduce! Love your content mate, and hope you've got more coming!
Hi there, thank you for the tutorial. I followed your process and I'm stuck at trying to get the Volume Mask to work. I believe I have everything set up properly, but when I go to click the pick button from the Volume Mask inspector panel, it doesn't have the same eye dropper UI when I hover my cursor over the Viewer. Would you have some suggestions to this?
Your content is absolutely amazing. As someone who has ditched AE and is going all-in to learining Fusion as my main compositing tool, your videos have been incredibly helpful! On another note, I have a piece of green screen footage that I'm compositing onto a CG background. It's a fairly simple shot, just a closeup shot of a head, locked off tripod, and a relatively clean lit green screen. I'm not sure if it's user error, but I've tried what feels like dozens of different keying techniques, including all the ones you've taught on your YT page, but there's a portion of the shot that I just absolutely can NOT pull a clean key. More specifically, I can get a very detailed alpha keyed out, but what I'm struggling with is managing the green fringe in the hair on only one specific part of the subject's head. This might be incredibly inapprorpiate to ask here, but if you ever had any time to possibly take a look at the footage (along with the CG background), I would be eternally grateful to see how you would approach the problematic area in question. I could even pay you for your time! If that's not possible I 100% understand and absolutley no worries!
Hey there Millolab. I just have a quick question. How did you get the OIDN plugin? It shows it in the list of plugins in reactor on fusion but then when I search for it it doesn't show. Where did you get yours?
Been learning Fusion lately and your content is most definitely among the most helpful I’ve watched. I would love to see you go over some compositing of live action with CG (either cg integration or live action on cg environments). Thanks for the great content!
Sadly, isn't working for me. I followed your instructions, set the reference frame, even tried changing the global in and out but nothing helped. The node starts glowing red when I try to analyze the timeline. I had a look inside the macro and it seems the optical flow is causing it but I could not determine why. I tried multiple different footages too. Any idea what could be the problem?
1. what's the shortcut to switch between the viewers in fusion? 2. is there any specific reason to use merge for volume pass and not the channel boolean? 3. what's the shortcut to enable/disable a node in fusion? 4. Is there any specific use case scenario of having dir, in-dir, color for diffuse, spec & transmission? coz we can setup the dir, in-dir, color in blender's compositor and render straight away diffuse, spec & transmission. so instead of 9 layers we can have 3 layers alone, right? 5. depth should be in z channel, right? instead of having it in red channel? and same goes with uv channels?
1 there is no shortcut to switch viewer. Each viewer has an A/B buffer. The shortcut for that is "," and "." 2 because it's a simple Over. 3 cmd+P ctrl+P 4 the more passes you have the more contro in comp. 5 depends. Fusion has a fixed channel structure so in general I'd say yes but there are exceptions.
Hey @MillolabTuts! I love your tutorials and would be interested to see how you'd create the "A24" logo in Davinci Resolve? I've seen a number of After Effects tutorials, but not one for the Fusion page. It seems simple, but there's a lot of little complexities that makes it quite elegant.
Hey bro if it's not too much trouble Can i have your Facebook or Instagram to Ask you there some questions about fusion that would bé really helpful for me and i won't annoy you too much And i am your fan from morocco 🇲🇦
Holy fucking shit... This is... I don't even know what to say. Are you, by chance, the Mastermind? Like, did you wake up that morning and said "Yup, I got my plan fully worked out" or did you figure it out by trial and error? Perhaps you searched for individual effects and solutions to later combine them in this tutorial? Whatever you did, it came out awesome. Though, wouldn't it have been easier to make this in dedicated 3d rendering/animations programs like Blender?
Thank you so much for making this in-depth tutorial. Really helped me figure out a lot. I had been jumping a bit around youtube to find something akin to this. However this was way more in-depth, clear and to the point. And included som proper real-world cases. Thank you for making this!
It's so nice and rare to see videos of advanced techniques shared just for the pleasure of passing on knowledge. Your channel is priceless. Thank you very much for that tutorial.
Hi, great video. I'd love to see/buy a whole masterclass of you going in the details of different techniques and worklfows for fusion. The way you worked with the passes here seems really useful - what benefit would have deep compositing compared to what you did?
@MillolabTuts At 14:45 you add a Camera Instance to a Shape3D node and this creates a Merge3D node with a green arrowhead connecter (=foreground). When I copy these actions I don't get a green arrowhead, but a white one labeled SceneInput2. The resulting output from the copied Renderer3D node shows only an even bluish/teal square, and not the faded reflections you show in the video. I checked all the nodes from the jpg, fastnoise, reflect and everything in between, and can't figure out why I can't get the same results as you. (obviously I'm a beginner, but willing to learn). Is there a way for you to share the code for this project ?
I do have a “advanced keying” tutorial on my channel where I explain the subtract/add process (additive keying)what I’m doing here it’s basically the same thing but a bit more fancy.
