i learned that HARDENED metal was not hardened all the way when I lathed down some pins for my backhoe and after a lot of turning and sparks it suddenly got real easy to turn and remove metal :)
This interested me so much I never got to watch the video because I moused over the "preview" in youtube and got hooked and watched it in tiny little preview window lol
Thank you for your well detailed and easy to comprehend video documenting this fraud on Dodges part. So what now, do we have grounds for a class action lawsuit? Because I don't wanna pay for a rebuild... Actually, I want to make sure the Ram management team loses their shirts over this Because a new engine or a rebuild shouldn't be my responsible 2-3 years into owning a truck and I'm on my 4th hemi... F* Dodge. Let's make a documentary on this, incorporate the opinions and demos of several Mechanics, engineers, Ram Owners and take Dodge to court.
yes similar they try give me half price, headquaters solved check came in the mail, plus my brain injury guy to joy make me have pain f with me, then at end says oh here it is, while i confused dizzy with guy tricking me on purpose see me get metalily erased on part order on the shelf in dultuth mn, coorperate actiion taken
sounds like someones timing is off or a cam lobe is off or bad? coil? plug? is it FI? if it holds water its TIGHT and a very good valve job, lest the grind end of it is very good.. should have sent in the cam with the heads as well.. they got over on you, sad these people exist but it might be time to start compiling lists with these names on it so you can share it from shop to shop, total BS, these guys might go around getting all their work done free and getting kick backs on overcharged labor... did you mark those heads in anyway to insure they are indeed the heads you worked on? total BS, a lot of shops are working on a tight line they cannot afford to be paying for all this BS, what tells me this is a con job is that he is not trying to work with you to resolve it, who would do this? anyone not on the scam would say hey, can you help me figure this out, if its me I'll pay if its you we'll work it out .. what were the symptoms other than the carbon build up? that ticky noise can be anything? I mean to hear a ticky noise with zero performance issues, think to yourself oh I gotta remove the heads off to determine what the noise is, then see carbon and come to the conclusion the noise is a poor valve seating job? when you aren't even capable of performing a leak down or compression test is way out there .. if this dood is on the up and up he is going to have a big surprise when he has another shop redo that head and the same issue persists, I am of the opinion its BS, scammer, get that list going, shops need to work together on this.. you know how they used to have a pic of your drivers license and the bad check pinned near the cash register? something along those lines, get a camera pointed at the customer, run a facial recognition and see if said face has scammed another shop somewhere in the USA, or world, scammers infest the entire globe.. they need to be outed, so sick of the thieves today, everywhere, and tome its stealing .. you're way to nice IMHO, in cases where you now you are over 50% right the words "see you in court" go a long ways in front of these scammers... compile that list, this guy can be #1
Thank you for the videos, the machine work and such has been enlightening, stuff like this is also really interesting as well and shows your vested in your end product. definitely would be my first choice in machine shop.
I got a question for you since we're talking about twerk plates. It was my understanding that torque plates simulated when you put on a cylinder head and torqued it down . That's when the cylinder distorts is when you bolt up the cylinder headed and he starts the cylinder head and it's not 100% true lined up. Or am I wrong?
You shouldn’t respond to your critics. It makes you look weak. Consider making these informative videos without mentioning what the uninformed have said.
Craftsmen took a huge hit back in about 1981. Craftsmen have been loosing ground since. They are no longer Craftsmen they are labor. The tax structure changed. All the money went up, and the wages went down. The perception of people without out a white collar college job went way down. A Craftsmen was considered a high regarded job. Now considered labor. Told if you won't work for these low wages and terrible conditions the next guy will. This attitude went on for almost 50 years. This is just part of why we have a huge shortage of Craftsmen. There is a lot more to it than just this. Just look at the spread between the wealthy and the workers in America. This is what has happened.
I had 3 comp cams installed in 3 rebuild engines in 5 months time. That ate the cam up on break in. Buy comp cam procedures , one didn’t make it off the dyno No more.
It's like this. As someone who runs a machine shop ( have one at work) plus best friend owns a full machine shop does engine balancing. That person is by far getting a better machined product than lot of stuff comes off assembly line. I'm sure during the manufacturing process the factory really uses torque plates in the machine process spitting out hundreds of blocks a day. Lol They machine those blocks so quickly they don't worry about specs on each block until assembly process. The bores & cylinders get measured if in spec so be it if not they toss the block to the side & grab another one. As a Certified Ford & GM tech within spec is a wide void sometimes doing warranty. . Like doing warranty work for our City Fleet. Certified Techs work on Charger police cars that Hemi chews up lifter puts metal through block, Dodge tells them to tear it apart bare block clean it resemble it with original bearings, rings, & majority of the original gaskets ( hard gaskets like oil pan & rubber gaskets like intake ect ),. If you warranty something it better be out of there spec because we have to keep those parts at 3 months incase they want to do warranty check. What some people call bad isn't to the big 3 under warranty claims. Lot of people get upset resemble engine with 35K miles or 85K-95K going by hour meter using original gaskets, bearings, & rings. If lifter bore damaged & you smooth bore out & lifter moves freely & is within that thousandth you can't send it off & bore hole have it sleeved. Better have proof first. Luckily having your own machine shop & it's your fleet we can do that. No customer to charge we don't try turn it in.
if you trust your machine shop, and you tell them what youve got, and what your wanting to do,and they make reccomendations, take their advise. if you dont trust them,go somewhere else.
Maybe to help people you can provide a list of known good parts that will give them a fighting chance at a successful engine build. I'm sure they would appreciate it for the most part.
I would create a special stamp that indicates your shop, and stamp all parts (or you etech/ machine something specific as an identifier). You can tell in seconds that its not your cam (or other part). I would not refund the money based on the paint mark. Just say that the paint mark proves that you did not make the cam, also that the core mark indicates it could not be anything you did recently. You have a solid legal case. Take good pictures and document things well.
Hey Bud the reasons for going back to eBay instead of straight to your 10% coupon code is when you search something you want to buy, your example here is pushrods, eBay usually shows up before anyone else, then you see every offer on eBay and you get to compare seller and price and it’s convenient ish. I do it, because money is finite and I appreciate when someone treats me right but I’m not too keen on paying any more than I have to. That said USPS intentionally withholds my mail and packages and they look for my name to do so. Nobody else at my address ever has delayed mail, but I do and it’s because they’re so lazy they were lying on the blue card claiming to have tried to deliver packages (no signature required) while I was home and wanting me to pick it up for them because pulling up my driveway would’ve been too much work. My driveway is short and paved, maybe 75 or 100’. They lied when I complained on them saying my dogs were growling at them, but I don’t have any dogs. They have been throwing important mail in the shredders and in the creeks or river ever since. I don’t know how many times I have complained on them and they go out of their way to be the worst carriers in the country. I personally would pay just the difference between the guaranteed never to arrive with USPS and the UPS or FedEx rate if I want it in a reasonable time.
Did you check it under pressure no you only poured a solvent in the port and checked visually under the Idea that if there was a leak gravity will let you see leakage I'm pretty sure moters work under extreme pressure not gravity
I will never use Ebay again. Their customer service, just like you said, SUX. I got burnt twice, and the old saying, "Burn me once, your fault. Burn me twice, my fault", sealed the deal with Ebay getting any more of my business again.
You don't go back. $35 isn't worth the effort. Trust me, I've been screwed out of a hell of a lot more and not from a parts store. Give it a rest and go to Auto Zone or Advanced. Hell even NAPA.
