The video doesnt mention Barnes was one of the few people Who owned the Synclsvier and knew how to program It.Barnes had already been working with that technology that at the time was a groundbreaking technology.Barnes created all those powerful sounds for Michael predominentslly using the Synclsvier with IS prominent all around the album and gives It that cohesive Bad album sound that was very iinocative and nobody was sounding that way...so if the man arranged and created the sounds for the álbum translating Michael acapella ideas to music..he was basically the real producer of the record
Love this song... I can relate and alot of others probably can too.. I felt his loneliness and pain... Cold inside.. He looked sad in his eyes.. He makes us feel it and he will be missed.

The writer of this song is Steve Porcaro (wrote human nature). So in reality Steve is genius here and Michael makes it magic. The reason it hasn’t been on anything is Steve owned this song and Chicago 1945. So nobody could put on anything. BUT he just sold the rights to those songs so soon we may hear the original versions in good quality along with a new reconstruction of the music with polishing the vocals. Only thing about Dream Away is it doesn’t have those sweet harmony back vocals we love but, it’s something different and just a straight vocal with a message. All we have heard online is just a “version” of the songs. But soon we will hear them now.
but in one recording of this demo, someone (I guess steve) is saying: i started playing something on the keyboard and michael grabbed a piece of paper and started writting stuff.. and did a quick down and dirty demo.... so, it sounds like it was a collaboration..
So sad it never happened. Why they couldn't do it at the end? It would have been iconic and stayed for history! Hope one day we will see the rehearsals at least.
