Michael kept going up high/singing. they brought his vocals/Register down a little. to make Michael sound grown, and sexy...it worked. because the public never heard Michael sound so clean, sexy, and Mature before. ROCK WITH YOU. was the biggest hit on that album. and the 2nd Biggest Hit of Michael's LONG career, behind Billie Jean.
Yep, it's confirmed again. The guy was BRILLIANT! Layers of his own voice in 4 part harmonies as clouds to then allow him to play his lead vocals any way he wanted! FANTASTIC!
I completely agree It's hard to make a riff sound so natural and fast, most artists today make the riffs super flashy, not as a complement, but to be the pure highlight

That’s a point many overlook. MJ was only 20 here heck I’m 22 now but I have utmost respect for what he was doing at that age. Mike always been special, at that time he might have been 20 yet he was a veteran and was glorified and better musically and greater than all the artists we have today. Don’t nobody compare to the work he put into his craft which paid off and made him the GOAT
this is my favorite michael jackson song. Everything together sounds like heaven! I couldn't pick out those lower harmonies but the way they fit in are incredible. He's so incredibly talented!!!
The incredible artistry of the song is possibly even enhanced by experiencing the isolated vocals. They absolutely sparkle. Absolute bliss, and goosebumps when the full vocal section plays. Just wow 🤩

Michael was always able to play instruments. I don't know why most people think he couldn't. How else do you think he knew what sounds to put together to bring make his songs sound perfect? He knew a lot about Music theory as well. He worked really hard at his craft and knew it inside out! That's how he made such masterful magical music and that's why he is the King! 👑
