Established in 2011, Yale-NUS College is Singapore's first liberal arts college with a full residential programme that integrates living and learning. Drawing on the resources and traditions of Yale University and the National University of Singapore, a Yale-NUS College education promotes broad-based interdisciplinary learning across the natural sciences, social sciences and humanities complemented by depth of expertise in one’s major.

Our curriculum and pedagogy draw on the strengths of established liberal arts traditions, while introducing our students to the diverse intellectual traditions and cultures of Asia and the world. We are nurturing young minds and enabling the next generation to think critically, gain cross-cultural competencies and possess the skills needed to tackle today’s local and global issues.

Just a simple solution is for global democratic nations unite to suppress hostile China communism ambition to control economic and cultural principles without respect for rule of law respect for human rights freedom of expression religious freedom and fair reciprocity. Globally all nations must put aside greed and pursuit of wealth to restore humanity to peaceful coexistence. This four is shamefully defending CCP’s belligerent hostile assault without addressing CCP blatant crime crime against humanity like cruelty towards their minority race assist on religion and extreme corruption victimising their peasant group of rural people. Address the bold hypocrisy of CCP behaviour in WTO UN and WHO with intend to destabilise global order. Stop attack on colonial past focus on present change of evolving human needs.

The British are branded as unfair 'colonists' in Singapore. Then, what are the Chinese doing now. "Don't be a pot calling a kettle black" So much so, the younger generation of Chinese whose parents are Chinese educated have the misconception of 'Singapore belongs to the Chinese' when China Mainland "uses and speaks 'Mandarin''.

Singapore is pretty much controlled by the west and they think like a West most the time. However, China is rising and is stronger than USA. This current changes of the power in the world will make Singapore think twice to work with China. Hopefully Singapore government will become more friendlier with China instead of catering to the West power.

Anglosaxons - plus Zionist that is the real problem. They cannot stay rational and accept the chenching WORLD. The LAST of domination of this deadly satanic cocktail for the last 500 years make them incompatible with 85 % 0f the people population, there fore there is no room for Satanic - Marksizm "ideology" and Humsnity ,Christianity. and Islamism in parallel . Conclusion is obvious one will have to die , so Im sure as an Christian that HUMANITY-CHRISTIANTY-Islamism will prevail.- This is Ideological stragel ,hence outcome is unavoidable.

The heart of the Manila Galleon trade was essentially an exchange of silver mined in Spanish Mesoamerica for Chinese goods (silk, tea and porcelain). Ming Dynasty China (like its many predecessors) produced very little silver yet relied on it heavily as fiat currency for internal/external trade while Spanish Mesoamerican had the largest known silver mines then. Since inception, Ming China conducted foreign trade via highly regulated official tribute missions with neighbouring states that it recognised as vassals (this policy was largely adopted by succeeding Qing China). Therefore, most of the Chinese merchants active in Manila (then the largest “Chinatown” of the world) were smugglers who were operating clandestinely outside of the tribute missions when Beijing imperial court was preoccupied with other more pressing internal matters or through systematic bribery of Ming officials. Despite this, by the late Ming period (prior to its fall in 1644), Ming China possessed 1/3 of the world’s silver in circulation, less than a hundred years since the start of the Manila Galleon trade in 1565), a testament to Europeans’ voracious appetite for Chinese goods which inevitably led to the Opium wars which finally reversed the flow of global silver into China. It is rather disappointing that the panel did not include a cognoscente of Ming China maritime trade to give a Chinese perspective on the Manila Galleon trade. For me, the Manila Galleon trade is an early vehicle of Western Imperialism and exploitation of indigenous people in Spanish Mesoamerica and Spanish Philippines under the guise of religion (Catholicism) and “free trade.” 😢

The Elephant in the room which nobody has ever addressed is the question of the prevailing system of government in China which is a Communist governing ideology, which to the Chinese diaspora around the world is a big no no. You get too close, and the CPC will start giving orders. One unknown fact that most people don't know is the fact that CPC was financed by foreign bankers' interests in Europe on its inception.

Meritocracy is one of the products of White Supremacy. The others are racism, sexism, inequality and hatred of others that don’t look WASP. In order to make sure whites ‘get the edge’ caused by emotional insecurity. Puts a whole new spin on ‘putting others down, in order to lift oneself up.’ All are products of self-righteousness.

I was a history major in college, back in New Jersey and I remember learning about the first Chinese students in the U.S from my Chinese American professor. It's amazing to be able to listen this lecture by this man's grandson.

From PE for kids to PE for adults. Games for fitness. Game-playing as a team. A team of diverse physical abilities. Forming 'buddies'. A buddy who appreciates your adjustment to his or her level of participation, and who in turn invites you to his or her world of say, origami. There is an exchange of guiding of each party's niche specialty. Case in point: I get a middle age lady started in throwing light-weight balls into a hoop and experience hand-eye-ball coordination. She in turn introduced me to simple origami of interesting structures from which I embark onto a hobby of crafting architecture out of paper to my own delight. *There is a multitude of possible combinations of diverse interests with numerous people that one can form 'buddy-ship' with.

I just wonder why if China is in such a great place, economically, politically etc., then why are they still considered a "developing country." I agree the US has stuck their nose in to far to many countries and created absolute chaos. I don't like this absolute 180 degree discussion on how wonderful, great, peaceful etc., China is. Why are they opening police stations in Canada, why are they not held accountable for atrocities on humans as the Germans have been held accountable and the "whites" against blacks. There cannot be a double standard because people feel warm and fuzzy about a country. The only trustworthy government is the government of CHRIST JESUS full stop. God bless you all.

His whole philosophy has one glaring flaw. People are not created equal. They are made equal under the law. You can open up elite universities to more students but you will not produce an equal number of elite graduates. You will waste billions in grant money as a large number of those students drop out.

Your Project team should have a Tamil and a Malay researchers. - You cannot carry out research into South East Asia without knowing the trade, cultural and religious influence that the Tamils (as opposed to Indians who had little ties with SEA) exerted in South East Asia including the maps and ports by the Tamils of SEA. Eg: The 18 over SEA seaports named in the Tamil inscription in Thanjai Peruvudaiyaar Temple, which were conquered by the Tamil Cholar Emperor Rajarajan and his son, Rajendran. - As for the Malays, they are the inhabitants of Malaysia, Indonesia, Brunei and south Thailand and they would have oral and written information (if not maps) of SEA. Eg: Sejaru Malaya (I think) written by a Tamil muslim in Malay. - Professor A. Veeramani is a good expert on Tamils and SEA. You may wish to consider him for your project.

The wealthy can pour all the money they want into their children's education, but those children will still have to pass the entrance examination to get into college and not all would be successfull for regression to the mean does not discriminate against the social elite. That is to say unless they are given special privileges due to their parents being alumni of the university. In such cases is meritocracy really the problem?
