Art and music is a key to finding who we are and how we relate to our environment. Why we should separate the person with Parkinson from what inspires all of us. In the session of exercise music and art should be intertwined.
Prof Bloem We are lucky to have such an enthusiastic person in the world ,teaching us about Parkinson's disease As a neuro physiotherapist I cherish his teaching.
Insightful! Check out our trailer --> ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-m0pk_FnZsJU.html. YOKN-PHI, music and sounds for everyday life. 🎶
I think if you reposted these videos adding a topic to the video name you would get a loit more views. I don't know these doctors and a topic would help me decide to watch
Incredible work and research! We all need to get on board w Dr Ray is saying and STOP the use of Paraguat and all toxic pesticides and chemicals used in our air, environment, food, water, land and cosmetic product.
How does music therapy help with TBI? Music therapy offers a cutting-edge approach to recovery from TBI. It improves cognition, boosts muscle control, and aids patients to relearn speech skills. Music therapy engages several different areas in the brain at once, therefore effectively improves overall brain function.Oct 20, 2020
I only suffered a minor stroke recently that took my left hand/fingers and I went into such despair since I’m a Tech and Bass player, but this gives me such hope! Thank you both so much!
I love MACT exercises, they are so much fun for both clients and therapist. There is always a clear goal to achieve and the strong ryhthmic element (the entrainment) creates an instant synchronicity between the two players.
Another Brilliant discussion on the power of Rhythm and movement disorders. This channel should be Mandatory viewing for any Music Therapist or the programs that train them! Particularly loved the focus on taking programs "to the home". Nobody lives in "the lab" or "The clinic". life is lived at home and elsewhere, and useful programs need to have a simple and smooth transition for the clinic to the home. In the vast world of exercise THE single most "rhythmically entraining" activity is the speed bag. It creates its own metronome and it is a core part of the Rock Steady Boxing program for Parkinson.

What a great video! to finally see and hear one of the GOAT researchers and leaders in Rhythm based Rehabilitation. His research with RAS touches every disorder with movement based issues. Having read much of his work, it's really great to see and hear him speak. #TheRhythmIsGonnaGetYou
What impressive recovery thanks to Melodic Intonation Therapy! BUT we need to know how many hours of therapy over what time-course it took for the patient to improve so remarkably. Please let usknow! Also, how far post-stroke was he when he started the treatment? Thanks.
Hi Loraine, thanks for watching! Rhythmic Auditory Stimulation treatment started within weeks post stroke, and this was over the course of a few months with a couple of sessions per week.
Big thanks for this share, what a great work. I'm physiotherapist and auditory cueing is very important in my daily work with motor control impairments. By the way I've Neve seen that kind of bells, could you please give me a clue where to find them 😊. Greetings for your job.
Hi Jose Costa, thanks for watching! Yes you can find the bells on amazon: www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001RXWOM6/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_image?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Excellent, as a physical therapist assistant I'm going to use these techniques to help my patients improve (I sure hope they like death metal music lol). Thank you so much for the video!
Hi, my mother suffered stroke about 6 months ago, She had speech therapy going on and off but now its permanent and my SLP is using a similar humming technique. But, I'm facing one major issue, she is unable to speak words on her own when she wants to, although she can repeat more than 50 words after me but can't use them on her own. Any tips please?
