The one time I ever beat all three parts of Mr.Sinister. I'm glad it happened at my friends house with several people watching. Because it was the one time I forgot to sign in to Insider Connected. **facepalm**
I believe the b&w theme is to pay tribute to the original Godzilla film being a B&W movie. The new Godzilla film (minus zero) is also receiving a B&W release on home video. I wonder if the b&w theme makes it more difficult keeping track of the silver pinballs. If I had my druthers and an extra $10k, I would purchase the full color edition. Smart move by Stern making just many to meet the demand, but I don't know how exactly that would affect the reseller market.
The red writing isn’t the problem, the playfield being devoid of any lvl of color shading makes it just too flat. I expected slight color or very highly desaturated portions to the field like BKE. The rest of the kit is nice the playfield just doesn’t work that well with Yeti’s art for me.
Hey Tom, great playing! Can on confirm something for me? What version of code are you running on? I ask because my Deadpool Pro has this odd issue in which the right side of my screen for most modes is "stretched" for lack of a better word. Only about 20-30 pixels in from the right but all the way up and down. It's odd! Yours looks perfect.
@@halofanatic1992 this was an old video so probably old code. I haven’t noticed it on new code. If you want to message me on Facebook and send me a picture of what you are talking about. Might be something you want to talk to a distributor about as well.
@@Foxcitiespinball Seems to only happen in modes that you would typically encounter past Mechsuit, so the likes of perhaps Sauron or Sinister. Next time I come across it I'll snap a pic and hit you up! Thanks for getting back to me!
I was thinking the same thing but then I said to myself, wait a minute, is this a pinball video or some kind of "bait and switch" tactic for Stren fishing products...🤔bahahaha!! JK btw. Great game though! The point vomit after you hit the snik't shot in the final battle was siiiick! Thanks for the morning video!
I appreciate this video as I do Triple Drain's. Tom, you seem to echo my attitude on these dubious releases. I had a deposit on GZ Premium for 2 years & once received, spent every day for the 1st 2 weeks trying to resolve that ball jam before the VUK. Now that it works , I wouldn't trade it for a B&W. As someone who recalls the release of the color TV , I prefer color & have no desire to return to B&W. personally, thank you.
Do a quick image search, Original Japanese Godzilla Movie Posters. Almost all of them have Bold Red Gogira in Enormous red letters. It's in accordance with 70 years of Godzilla advertising. Also... the first two Godzilla films are in black and white. My only complaint on the Original color Godzilla is the Hideously Ugly Watermelon color Godzilla. The 70th looks Amazing. The Metallic side cab art looks phenomenal, watch the stern video on a big 80 inch tv, I did, almost life size. It's my First NIB modern Stern I've ordered. Stern fixed the Watermelon, now I'm in. Great videos Sir Cheers.
As I Godzilla LE owner myself I’m a little annoyed they used the LE art for the cabinet but I think the color foil looks way better. Maybe the pics arent doing the black and white Godzilla justice and looks better in person but the Elvira version really popped in B&W and I’m just not getting that vibe on B&W Zilla, especially the playfield……Glad Stern have kept the premium pricing tho,
Thanks. I see this like editions of classic albums. I have cool versions from the day they were released….and great subsequent releases, which you can get if you only ever got the basic cd first time round. I have GZ pro - I may get this one as it’s an upgrade on what I have.
Great video Tom. I own the Premium and like it a lot… If I didn’t have a GZ I would consider the B/W and maybe buy it over the colour version. Either version, it’s Godzilla pinball by Keith genius Elwin…!
The new "editions" completely killed the LE market. I think you brought up a great question. What is "exclusive"? I had a couple buddy's that only bought LE's and they stopped. I can only assume this isn't an isolated case. The B&W GZ looks neat but I would still prefer the original.
Another one to add to the black and white list is the Munsters (again makes since given the age of the show) My wife and I own a GZ Premium and went through ~6 months of trying to acquire a NIB one back in 2023. Given it is one of the best received games of all time, I agree with any reason for them to keep producing it. As for the black and white vs. color; I too think that the color version will have far more staying power. Look at older games like centaur or space invaders that are also very black and white focused: they just don't have that same attractive color pop that brings wondering eyes to the game.
As far as the "exclusive" topper mode, it's another play on words to screw over topper buyers like they do with anniversary editions to Le guys. If you listen to George, he says "new KOTM mode, yes new." So my guess is it's the same mode as the topper but not time attack. No clock, so it's probably how it plays in the actual game. im not sure I've never been that far. But yeah, lame i was hoping for a Jurassic sized update and got a mode i already own dumbed down.
Premium owner here. Totally agreeing with everything said in the stream. Cabinet looks good, don't like the rest and don't get the red. Happy staying with my color version.
If they has converted this to Spike 3 i would have been in. I like the art well enough but it isn't a huge triumph over the existing version. This game has got to be at peak saturation so I'm not sure who the market for this is.
A buddy of mine thought Heat Ray Blue would have been a nice choice for an accent color. I think a point that should be mentioned is Stern priced it at normal premium pricing. I think that shows that they are aware of the current direction of the market.
Coming on the heels of the tremendous backlash Stern received regarding Jaws and John Wick, this is an... _interesting_ move. The safer play would've been to reveal a brand new game with a solid design and a theme with actual mainstream appeal, something to make the naysayers shut their mouths and open their wallets. To instead put out a slightly dolled-up re-release of a fairly recent game that most Stern faithful likely already own is either the pinnacle of genius and bravery, or the height of stupidity and tone-deafness. I suppose the state of prices over the next few months will tell the tale.
Dude i think it's a sin what stern is doing, they're essentially recycling old titles, slap a new paint job, line it up with a decade anniversary, and watch the shills come running. It's a crazy and kinda sad time for pinball, let's go stern let your designers take on more projects. More projects, and shorter runs on production lines. The less games on a title the better, it helps them retain their value. This way you don't end up with a Venom Pro selling for $5k ONE YEAR after it's release? I think you guys should voice displeasure with stern, otherwise nothing will change, and poor godzilla 70 buyers keep trying to convince me this is a good buy when the better, more vivid and beautiful game already came out three years ago? Move on stern, let's gooooooooo...love ya tom ❤ excellent reportings
