I've been trying to get people into pinball for decades, and it can be a tough sale, but I genuinely believe that your high quality, entertaining streams have gotten a ton of people into pinball. Between streams and things like Insider Connected leaderboards, pinball is more popular now than it's ever been! Keep up the good work
As someone who just played in my first IFPA tournament last week and going into my second one in a couple days, this video is a perfect representation of what I felt going into the tournament. I’m so happy I joined this community and I can’t wait to play some more pinball and meet some more people.
I truly believe that pinball is on its way to being a highly regarded e-sport within the next 10 years. Creators like you really help push the needle forward :)
After years upon years of telling myself I was nowhere near good enough after watching PAPA for years and seeing the insanely skilled players there, I finally got into the competitive scene myself at my local barcade about a year and a half ago. Probably one of the best decisions I've ever made - I've made some amazing friends there, and it turned out I was a lot better than I gave myself credit for. Guess watching all those tournaments online paid off in the end!
You can learn a ton from watching high level players. Going in with strategy and an understanding of the game is a huge advantage even if you are still developing mechanical skills.
It’s a strange phenomenon. Barely anyone wanted to play pins, outside of the hardcores of course, up until 4-5 years ago. Now there are more barcades you can shake a stick at. I’ve been playing since I was a kid in the early 90’s and it’s bigger now than it’s ever been before. Now you have the young generation of absolute stone cold ninja assassins like Escher, Jared, Jason, Z-Mac, Dalton etc etc. who make us older guys looks like shit. 😂 I love it.
Depends on what is there. Play games you enjoy first and set goals on scores or modes. Try to x score the first game and try to do better the next. Set goals to progress through the game you are on like completing modes or starting a Multiball.
Here is what helped me get way better. I start playing in more tournaments and watching great players. I also watched a ton of tutorials and streams online to learn rules and strategy. Foxcites and other streamers are a great way to watch the best players at some HUGE tournaments. As for games, just play the ones you like and learn as you go. You will start playing the games you aren't naturally drawn to after you get beat on it during a tournament. :) Good luck!
Nudging is an aspect of the game. It’s why the tilt bob is in the game to prevent moving the machine too much. If you are not trying to save a ball you’re not trying.
