Isn't this the same guy that Xu beat up? Also sorry, I know this supposedly titled experiencing real kung fu but compared to other Taichi sparring I've seen involving with fists, I am not even sure what's supposed to be happening. Like it seems to me this eric dude (who I'm assuming is the uploader) isn't using any other attacks other than just the downward strike. It feels kinda compliant as there is a lot of waiting and hitting guarded areas as opposed to vulnerable spots like the head. Even if it was supposed to be light, I'm just confused why there aren't any other varied attacks assuming this isn't just to make Lei Lei look good. Heck in fact, where are the takedowns? the grappling? those are a part of Tai Chi and so far it's mostly just "blocking", "striking" and pushing. I guess the closest thing that seem non compliant is with the umbrella and sword but even then might be a combination of not having any protective gear and being careful not to hurt each other since they are both blunt. It would've helped if they did have the gear and maybe add slightly more commitment.
Taiji sometimes work for self-defense. The problem with taiji for fighting is it has no guard stance and footwork. Combine with other internal (xingyiquan, baguazhang) or modern (bjj, muay thai) fighting systems and it can be formidable.
This is a joke, right? What in the world was this? This is why Kung Fu has a bad name when it comes to reality in combative arts. I'm a student and teacher Choy Li Fut and Sun Chien (family style), and we spar for real. Not kick your teeth in, but hard. This is crap!
Wack ass armbar technique don't even know how to position the thumb or use his hips. Dude just rotated and slipped his hands away. Eric before you start making assumptions like QinNa destroyed bjj first you have to be good at it. I highly suggest you visit a real bjj gym and show them your wackass armbar technique so they can fix it for you.
