Thanks! I have a video where I show the engine and turbo (with updates) here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-PzEYfJcv80s.htmlsi=RkTaS22iqb5T8DoM
The MS3 Pro controls it all. I use a GM crank sensor with a custom wheel mounted at the crank. As well as the stock distributor sensor (distributor is shaved with a custom cover). That way I can run sequential injection and coil on plug. It's an awesome upgrade. You'll enjoy it.
CLEAN!! It sounds amazing too, really impressive work. What area of Utah are you in?? I'm in south salt lake area and have the same year of van but 2WD! Small world
Have you ever by chance made any write-ups/guides for doing this work? I'd like to attempt this but I'm a noob and would definitely need some guides. Hell, I'd pay for one.
Hi there I have a 87 toyota van 4wd also 👍is stuck , I want to upgrade my tires to all terrain, right now van van still has 14 “rims , I live in California, do you know a place or shop to take care my van to lift it?
Hey man I just bought one of these it has been sittin for year All the fuel lines are rotted Well I’m trying to figure out the route for all the lines Any way you could give me some insight
Is there a Mega Squirt for dummies? I never seen to find what I'm looking for, so I never commit Going this route would be great, I also have a 1UZ sitting on the stand I got for cheap. Auto electrical was the one cert I bothered to get, but it doesn't mean everything 😕
Great video ! 👍I personally own 1986 1988 Toyota vans , It would be very interesting if you please make another RU-vid video where we can see the distributor side of the Van 🙏
Any idea if hooking a battery up backwards on this van will fry the computer without blowing any fuses? The fuses are fine, but I know the van drove at one point and has been sitting for a few years since the supposed battery incident.
It's lifted with skyjacker shocks in the front and fox shocks in the rear. Rear sway bar broke and I haven't replaced it. Front sway bar is still connected but needs bushings. It's drivable, but it handles like a wet sponge.
Omg your van is glorious! I just got an 89. Hoping to do some basic upgrades. Can you give me any pointers about where to start? What’s the first mod you would do from stock? Hoping for a lift and better tires but any suggestions for engine/exhaust/cooling/suspension upgrades to do first? Thanks! Subscribed.
Thanks, and congrats! First thing you need to do is get familiar with Toyotavantech.com. I wouldn't modify anything until the van was running and driving perfectly. From there just modify the first thing you want. I don't have any tutorials, but I hope to be an inspiration.
@@crhgarage308 awesome! thanks for the recommendation! She runs great as is but curious what a motor like this could most benefit from. If you have any thoughts on most bang-for-buck mods lmk, I know some basic mechanics but i'm a novice when it comes to upgrades.
Awesome actually. 10,000 really hard miles. I've maxed out the injectors at 16psi and blow by hasn't increased, compression is still good, off boost power is still there. With a multi layer steel head gasket these engines seem engineered for boost.
@@crhgarage308 cool cool I'm looking to get one of these vans myself and I'm toying with the idea of supercharging it if I do get one. I have an sc12 supercharger from a 4agze and would like to see if it's possible to make it work with this engine. That's good to know that it stands up to boost.
@@crhgarage308 Ive had my van for a little over a year now and just now took it up into the mountains. It really struggled to maintain speed on some of the steeper slopes so i think im gonna turbocharge mine now instead. I do plan to do take it into the mountains a lot so the turbo would really help i think.
Awesomeness!! <;~O I'm curious how the 4Y-EC holds up with the extra load? ....any chance to see coverage of a 'drive it like you stole it' 0>>60,, and some highway and hillclimb footage. <;~]
I just posted on the Toyota Van Facebook page that I will be doing a custom turbo on my '85 TV using Microsquirt, LSx coils, etc. and someone posted the link to this video. Awesome that you basically have the setup that I though up for my van over the last week. I'm a small time RU-vidr as well, and I'll have my whole build on my channel when I get to it.
@@crhgarage308 hie plz help me with the details on how to install a turbo on a 4y and just a mechanic i have no idea how one can install a turbo thanks
