Nice project. I just found your channel & was hoping you would post some more vids. Wish granted! These are such cool vans & theres not much out there on them that gets into detail. Toyotavanman has a crazy modded LE with a swaped 3rze & MAJOR suspension mods. Marlin crawler builds transmissions for the mini trucks, might want to check with them for beefed a up trans. Peace out👍
Thanks! I have a video where I show the engine and turbo (with updates) here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-PzEYfJcv80s.htmlsi=RkTaS22iqb5T8DoM
I'd especially like a few ideas as for your exhaust manifold. I have a 1996 Toyota Spacia (identical 2wd floorpan, just rounded off everything off from there up), great car, but could do with a tad more power.
Deth Ryda it's actually the stock ECU. Tuned using 22RET injectors, adjustable FPR, and tweaking the vane MAF. There is no computer tuning. I'm at the limits of the stock ECU and plan to run a stand alone soon. Maybe an AEM EMS 4 because they're inexpensive.
Nice. Ive thought of doing the same thing with a boost referenced FPR. What exactly did you do to the Vane Maf? Im hoping to go a CT16/20, want to make boost very early, more like a diesel. Another option for your ECU might be a megasquirt. They also have some information on how to make Toyota VAST system work, although for the 4age, principles should be similar.
bluefever02 I have about 5,000 miles on the turbo system so far. I've made a couple mountain runs in 80 to 90 degree heat, and I haven't had any overheating issues (*knocking on wood*).
