Interesting thing about the story of Cain and Abel, many people interpret the punishment not as a lesson to not to commit murder, but more like "don't mess with god's favorite", since god used to liked Abel's offerings, no matter how hard Cain tried to make a perfect offering.

So, like, this glowing green meteorite lands on earth and weakens Cain to a point where he may be able to die. Or ... no ... wait ... wrong show. 🤓

Remember, Charlotte was DEAD when Mom slipped in. She wasn't overridden by Mom, though there are a couple of misplaced inferences that she was in there too. There's nothing for her to remember of the time she was dead (except Hell). Actually, the big discontinuity is that Charlotte is alive again at all. Mom taking her body had nothing to do with her dying, so no compensation was due. I get it that Trish Helfer was so good they decided to add her to the season cast. But in terms of the story. NO.

If no one had committed murder, how would Cain know it would kill Abel?

There's a movie I think is very underrated that I think you might like based on some of your comments this season. It's called "He Never Died." If you guys know what I'm talking about, like this, but no spoilers, please!

Well it was flawed as Lucifer didn't undo the crime, he just brought Able back to life

Given Anna's Old Fashioned, I'm a little surprised that she was "Abel" to get through this episode, let's watch the next reaction and see if she "Cain" to it again.

A few things. Lucifer not telling a lie isn't a thing he is forced to do. It is just him. When you are an archangel i doubt lying ever gets brought up. While on Earth, it's the same thing. When you are that powerful there is little need to lie. What he says will happen he makes happen. Charlotte being in hell for a few months isn't exactly accurate. In Earth time, that much time has passed, but in hell time goes by differently. A few months could be thousands of years. And since each loop is what? about 20-30 minutes. That means in that short period her hell loop happened around 96,000 times. In this lore, you go to hell because you feel some kind of guilt for how you lived. Each hell is of the person's making. Cain said that he just happened to be the one who survived their fight. In the bible, it always impresses that Abel was a good son who did everything right. Cain was the black sheep of the family. Here it shows that Abel was a douche as well.

Yeah, pretty sure Able was trying to shoot Amenadeal, but he's never used a gun before, so of course he'd be a bad shot, especially for such a quick draw maneuver like that. Total, "failing upwards" moment.

Remember the "west" justice system is based on everyone is entitled to a fair trial and it is up to the prosecutor to "prove beyond all reasonable doubt" that a accussed is guilty. A defence lawyer is an important part of this process. Either they try to prove procedure wasn't followed, so their client wasn't getting a fair trial or show holes in the prosecution's evidence. If a guilty person goes free, then is it the defence lawyer or the prosecution responsible for that?
@DavidB-2268
@DavidB-2268 День назад
Might depend on how the defense attorney got the win. We know that Charlotte was absolutely amoral, and willing to break the law - or advise others to do so - in order to win.

Tricia's acting when Charlotte describes her Hell loop is absolutely superb! Throughout season 2 and in much of season 3 she plays a supremely self-confident bad ass, but her vulnerability here is completely heart-breaking.

@lyconxero457
@lyconxero457 День назад
Your question at the end about defense attorneys reminded me of a recent legal case that crossed the line and ended up being dismissed. They tried to put Alec Baldwin on trial for the murder of the cinematographer on the movie Rust because the weapon somehow had a live round and ended up going off. However, during discovery it was uncovered by the defense that the prosecution had knowingly had important evidence mislabeled so that it wouldn’t be discovered. Once one of the prosecutors discovered this she asked to be removed from the case before it was eventually settled because she felt that she had a moral and legal responsibility to do so. In this example, Charlotte was more like those other prosecutors who felt that bending the rules to suit their agenda was fine as opposed to simply doing the job assigned to the letter of the law.

You seem to have missed or forgotten the fact that Cain was the FIRST murderer and thus Abel was the first murdered. This is why Abel was the first person in hell as he was actually one of the first “people” as a child of Adam and Eve according to the Bible.
@kingbrutusxxvi
@kingbrutusxxvi День назад
I think she was questioning why he was in Hell at all. We tend to consider Abel an innocent victim of Cain's action so it seems odd he wouldn't have gone to Heaven when he died.

Lucifer leaving hell is actually from one of The Sandman books (Niel Gaiman.) TLDR version is he realized everyone in hell was there by choice because they believed they deserved to be there. Everyone including himself, so he decides he's served his time and leaves. The long version is basically the "change" he's experiencing actually started earlier, he began to feel bad for the humans he was punishing, specifically the ones he didn't think deserved to be there. He tried closing down hell and freeing all the tortured souls but they refused to leave, instead begging to be punished. He gives the keys of hell to Morpheus (the sandman) and leaves. This causes some serious trouble for Morpheus because basically everyone wants the keys to hell, except him (which is why Lucifer gave them to him.) This includes Angels from heaven, rouge angels that want the power for themselves, demons and even Morpheus' own siblings (known as the Endless which is kind of the embodiment of the horsemen of the apocalypse, Death, Destruction, etc.) Unfortunately it's been over twenty years so I can't really remember much more of it.

I love the prequels more than I do Yellowstone, specifically 1883. The writing and the performances from Sam Elliot, Tim McGraw, Faith Hill, Lamonica Garrett, and most importantly Isabel May were phenomenal. So much emotion and heart this show had.

Gossip doesn't need to be secret... my guess is that the column it will become more like a society magazine. And maybe people will start coming to her to write about problems that need to be discussed, addressed, exposed... or of course, gossip, like who's courting who 😋 Also.. in the present day, it takes less than one day to travel from London to the North of Scottland, even by car. But most people will usually do it by train.

Flint confessing to the relationship with Thomas wasn't about confessing to what was then a crime, it was about allowing the public to ridicule James and Thomas. Ashe wanted to drag them into the public eye to be mocked as something unnatural. In this way the fearsome image of Captain Flint would be reduced to a pitiable wretch who was unmade by society's judgement. This is a recurring theme since the first episode; society is kept in order through gossip which reinforces shame, shame is a tool of control and those without shame are a danger to the ruling hierarchy.

Fun fact: Louise Barnes and Nick Boraine (Lady Hamilton and Lord Ashe) are married in real life 😄😅 That must've been an awkward day at the office 😂 This show is so bloody great!!! I cannot WAIT for the finale! Miranda dying was one of those "I should've seen it coming, but didn't" moments, and it in no way felt gratuitous or "just" for shock value. This show really is so remarkable and consistent in the quality of the writing ❤

One of the amazing things about this show is how the writers seamlessly blended historical accuracy with the fiction of Treasure Island. Hornigold was given a pardon and turned into a pirate hunter in real life.

@08:00 IDK if the MCU will keep the origins of the Witches Road but in the comics the Road is home to the Goddess of Witchcraft. She is the manifestation of all magic that is blessed upon Witchfolk (Witches and Warlocks). I am hoping they keep her for the end of the show! Fun fact: The Witches Road exists outside of space and time so there are beings that interact with each other from different time periods on the road. In the book Wanda actually meets her biological mother on the road who died before Wanda got the chance to meet her in the real world.

Rupert is malicious. Previous rudeness to Ted has been not exactly personal, but just people being upset that something they care about being mishandled. Rupert is purposefully hurting Rebecca and mocking Ted. Definite different vibe. Keely helps the players handle sponsorship deals and promotions. She works with the club, so she is around not just as Jamie's girlfriend.
