I was 28 back then. Most of all I remember WKHI-FM ("100 KHI") at 99.9. They were a great top 40 local station that was always ahead of the curve. Now they're 99.9 Froggy country bullshit.
you seem to have a lot of old video of OC any chance you have any of Phonton when it was on the pier? also any of when it Q-Zar would be great too im big laser tag fan and theres not much on these i have fair bit when it was Q-Zar as i played there a lot but im just a bit to young for when it was Phonton i remember it there but by the time i was old enough it had been replaced with the Wax museum

Where did The Birthday Party go? I know one of the wigs were stolen some time back, but now it seems that the clowns themselves were removed. Are they gone for good, or in storage?
Speaking of headslinger, what is his current condition behind the Trimper warehouses? I saw the photos of him behind the warehouses, but it seems that those probably aren't accurate anymore. Was he ever moved inside or sold off to a collector? Also thanks for giving me info about the Phantasmagoria props!
@@notlmpresed Well, on the bright side, at least the Ghost Ship Headslinger wasn't the only one ever made. The Fright Zone at Erieview park had one, but the latest recording had a different head on it than older videos (probably had the same issues as Trimper's did with their constantly grabbed head). It was going to Conneaut Lake, but because of changes, the plans were cancelled. It's probably in some warehouse in Pennsylvania with all the other props from there. The Haunted Castle at Miracle Strip also had one. They also had a Mad Scientist prop and a spinning car with the two people in it by the tunnel. When the ride closed when Miracle Strip did, the props were taken to Birmingham I believe. They were again relocated to another part of Alabama to be used in the Terrortorium. They learned from the past, however. Their headslinger is located on a staircase on top of its own. Probably done to make sure the head wasn't pulled off. The head slinging feature is deactivated as of now, probably because of his location and age (one year older than Ghost Ship's). His head is off the main body though. These are the only two I know about. Perhaps more exist outside of these two.
I was 15 and there that summer of "86" I remember every inch of the boardwalk and businesses that were there at the time. Thank you for sharing this treasure brought back one of the best summers.
Ocean City is nice in the summer, and off season around October is always the best as well and they even make that haunted house more frightening around that time! 🎃 🌊🦈🐬🐋 looks like it still looks the same!
Was that the lobby music playing inside the ride (during the torture chamber)? And I’ve noticed in these old videos the electric chair dude doesn’t move, I’m wondering if it’s a completely different prop (replaced by the moving one in the ride today) the smoke coming out is badass though.
Does anybody remember, I think Levan burton held this little camera thingy? Like he inserted something in it and then it went to a different scene? I've had the image in my head
Brilliant! Always wanted to make a scale model of some of the old dark rides, with interior, I know people worked on CGI versions, but I have not see one done well. The Spook House in NJ that got destroyed is a really interesting dark ride packed into a small location
I love how in 1991 it sounds like the ride is OLD with all the creaking and banging and hydraulic sounds, yet in 2023, those creaks and bangs and pfffts are all exactly the same 😊...this ride is the best and I never leave OC with riding it!
I agree! This ride is the best The creaking and all those old noises adds more feel to the experience 🎃 Some people seem to not shit themselves but to me it's always scary and unexpected
