I'm Matt and over the last couple of years I have been incredibly fortunate enough to drive some of the worlds most amazing cars, I have filmed everything from BMW to Lamborghini! Mainly for Rybrook TV and at Lovecars but now I am having a go at going solo! so welcome to mattsmartcars and welcome to my journey with all things automotive.
Hi. I back up your sound about the exhaust burbles on start up which is great if they carry on doing it but bmw themselves mapped it out of the ecu due to making there cars less noisy.. its a shame.😭😭 I have a m135i misano blue 2020 with panroof. Tech pack. Comfort pack. Black leather interior. Berlin trim lighting. Adaptive suspension on 18 inch wheels but makes a big difference in ride comfort. Fitted a bmw front splitter. Bmw Side skirt.bmw black front grill with cerium diamonds. Maxton diffuser. Maxton roof spoiler.
Thanks for the insights! I'm driving a G31 530d at the moment. While researching for it, I found a used M Sport equipped G31 without the tinted windows (as this 3 series) and to be honest, I would have bought it on the spot, but it did lack the H/K sound system, so I let it pass. I later found a sport line G31 and it was a late preLCI so I (luckily) got android auto, which I use everyday. There are just to many options and software and hardware changes over the years to get a full grip on it before even buying one...
No boot space..crap space in the back. These cars don't stick on motorways at over 100 mph...they spin off, especially in wet weather conditions.. They like to kill you and others for insurance claim giggles.
Hey Matt here's an idea. Before shooting a video BLOW YOUR NOSE! That way we'll be able to enjoy your production without the constant sniffing and wiping your nose on the back of you hand. Thank you.
Totally agree with everything said in this video. I have an m135i, it does burble on start up and there is a lot of turbo noise with the windows open. Mine is Misano Blue, so I don’t have the Black paint issue. I totally love the car.
I've just ordered one of these, currently have an M140i. I don't care about engine noise, just the HK. Is it better than the 360w variant in the 40? And was the bass issue only a problem with the car you had? Cheers.
Hi Matt. I've just ordered one as well, can't wait to get it! Hopefully July delivery 🤞🏻 It's on 18's with passive suspension. It will be my daily driver. I'm going from a Golf GTD 7.5 where the suspension is just right in my opinion. Do you think it will be ok or too stiff?
Picked up my M135i last week from Shrewsbury BMW. Fantastic dealership, this is my 5th car from them. Shout out to Kiran. Take your test drive to Ellesmere - British B-roads at their best. Sorry to leave the M140i but honestly, this looks and drives bute.
Great review. Did that particular model have the adaptive suspension? I'm looking to order one early next year without it. Do you think the ride would be too harsh without it or ok? I'll also be sticking with the standard 18" alloys so hopefully that should help? 👍🏼
This one had the standard suspension and it was absolutely fine, although I have driven them with adaptive and it is very good! I would say though that on 18s and normal suspension you will be absolutely fine!
Alright mate, like your content. Got an m135i on order. What's the best way to go about getting a better exhaust note without messing with warranty/insurance?
I am ordering the M135 next week and have decided on everything apart from the Trim I torn between Boston or Berlin. I might be wrong but I thought the Berlin Trim was the darker of the two???
Berlin is darker and has different patterns. I personally chose Boston because the plastic color is lighter and matches well with the lighter parts of the steering wheel.
@@mattsmartcars 200 mile run in mine yesterday to Cardiff bang for the bucks damn quick and easy to live with. Not a full fat M car but probably easier to live with as a daily and cheaper to run.
Looks okay… M135i looks better IMO. Interested to hear your thoughts on the driving dynamics compared to the 135i though, as this is a car that I might consider in future.
I had a F20 LCI (2016) for 160K kilometers. Fully loaded in Valencia Orange. Absolutely loved everything about it. But.. I also had the HK sound system and sometimes the bass was just gone. It was there again after I completely turned off the car and let it sit for 15 minutes or so. So annoying! Really shitty that they still hasn't found a solution for it. It was a quirk what I accepted over time.
Just ordered my M135i as an upgrade from a 2020 118i M Sport, due mid October (Storm Bay, Red Magma Leather) (Thank you pay rise!! :D). Ref your comments on the AC Temp and Sync functions, just say "Hello BMW - Set Cabin Temp to X" or "Hello BMW - Sync Cabin Temp" and the system does it pretty quickly. Alternative option is to program one of the number buttons for "Sync" if you need a single button press to do it. I think the BMW engineers must have found their sense of humour when programming the voice commands, if you say "Hello BMW - My Butt is cold" it will turn on the heated seat as well :) Allegedly it should recognise whether the command comes from driver or passenger side and turn on the right seat, but in mine it only seems to activate the drivers side. Also, if you're a sad arse like me, you can rename the activation word for the voice control, so in mine I can now say "Hello Helga" and access the voice functions. Can't wait for October... Following the test drive, feels like driving Miss Daisy in the 118!
The market hasn't gone mad for these sort of cars hence no stock there's a shortage of all cars because the company that makes semiconductors that fit into modern cars hasn't got any, there are no new cars being made therfore the secondary market has gone crazy.
hey Matt, what about streamlined noises? Don't you think this car is quite noisy inside and prone to wind? expecilly front windows (it feels like part open window even when you drive about 40-50 mph)
Can't wait for my Misano blue 135i to arrive, ordered in May should be here in September. I totally agree with your comment regarding the sound of the exhaust. It would make it a perfect addition to change the sound
