Lovely drives! the Samsung HD753LJ sounds just like my HD103UJ 1TB version! it has a lot of data saved in so the seektest takes such a long time now lol the health is good but it kind of suffers from seektest. like it tries to do it and sometimes it tests without issues sometimes it takes longer to start the test. edit: seektest is like from HD502HJ but longer
Odd that IBM/Hitachi covered only some of the screws within the sealed area (here they covered the two screws going into the top magnet bracket, but not the one over the actuator pivot; also the 75GXP covered the spindle center screw, but many other generations didn't). I thought the purpose of those stickers (besides warranty seals) was to stop microscopic dust particles from sneaking under the screws and into the drive? Certainly the Western Digital drives I've seen (except for early Protégés which didn't bother at all) use them consistently.
pretty sure its just warranty, i'd imagine the screws are normally tight enough for there to not be enough space for the smallest dust particles to sneak through.
man it sounded just like my dell all in one desktop computer that i worked on i can tell by the spin up and thats my favorite and my moms favorite its because first thing in the morning when my mom wakes me up she turns it on for me because of that ramp up noise and also the heads unparking and seeking and while in loading windows it makes a white noise like static
"Wow, my Sonic marketable plushies are top tier." "Check the thing on the paper and read where the plushie was made." "Okay..." *checks* "Wait... made in China?" "OH GOD NO." *mao zedong and xi jinping laughing in the corner*
