I haven’t done it myself yet, but I’ve seen others use the EasyPress for DTF transfers. You do need quite a bit of pressure to make sure it transfers and use a piece of parchment paper in between.
I preserving my mother's funeral flowers with the air drying method because I'm pressed for time and traveling. Thank you for the tutorial and I will head over to IG to follow you.
I’m so glad to hear that! It doesn’t automatically adjust, but if you measure for around the middle, it should be fine. Here are some written instructions in case it’s helpful too: www.firstdayofhome.com/how-to-laser-engrave-tumblers/.
Brilliant! Gliders for my Silhoutte, exchangeable labels, I just ordered those. I already have sticky hooks and under-the-table drawers. You just got my organization juices flowing!
Hi! I just purchased an Xtool P2 and very new at laser. I’ve been watching a lot of beginner videos and yours is very informative. I’ve noticed everyone’s software has a horizontal tool bar at the top but my creative space software doesn’t show. Do you know how I can get it show?
Hi! xTool Creative Space has undergone a few software changes since I made this video. You're probably seeing an older version of the software. You should still have the same functionality, but it might have moved to a different spot. Let me know if I can help you find anything, and enjoy your new machine!
You should definitely only do something that makes you personally comfortable. I followed the manufacturer's directions for microwave use, and this product is approved for use in the U.S. I'm comfortable with that.
I'm sorry to hear that. Many people like silica gel for drying full blossoms like roses. It's often used for resin projects where you want to preserve the flower's shape. Perhaps it was the flowers you chose that didn't turn out well? You can reuse the crystals to try again with different flowers if you want. Check out this video to see more examples with silica gel: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-PYZSlruBLxY.htmlsi=_xN6ETbvYjihbWcR
@@Tatvam_ Using some type of blotting paper (parchment paper or newspaper) could help. Roses are sometimes difficult to press flat if they are very thick. I hope you'll give it another try and have better luck the next time!
Hey Crissy thank you for the video❤ I tried drying some flowers and they were dried well but once i stored them they got floppy, what could be the reason?
Hello! I'm glad you gave it a try! I suspect there was still some moisture in the center of the flowers when you stored them. One trick is to add a small amount of silica gel to your container when you store them or let the flowers sit out a few days before storing them. If there's a lot of humidity where you live, that can also cause them to get moist again. I hope this helps! (P.S. Those small silica gel packets that come with some packaged products are helpful to add to your storage containers too.)
If you plan to make large batches of products for your business and need to cut clear or transparent acrylic, I’d definitely go with a CO2 laser like the P2. The M1 has more versatility to cut other materials with a blade (like vinyl and fabric), but if cutting acrylic is a large part of your business, I think you’ll be more satisfied with the P2.
Hi! I love this! I planted some beautiful flowers this summer, including some zinnias. I think I will use your wonderful tutorial to try this with them! Sounds like fun!
The measuring tape comes with the xTool Rotary tool, which you can find here (affiliate link): shrsl.com/4892f. The tape has color coding to determine the level for the wooden risers or honeycomb panel and the roller gear (A, B, or C).
I’m glad you saw something similar, but I’ve seen this in more than one home decor store for much higher than $8. It’s a very large garland, not a small one.
The design I purchased was made for a 20 ounce tumbler, and then I just had to make sure it was sized to get as close to the silver rim (edge of the powder coating) as possible. I used framing to preview where the laser would engrave and made adjustments until I felt it was close enough to the edge of the powder coating. Framing is your friend to preview the laser path before you process the job. I hope this helps! Here’s an article with the steps as well: www.firstdayofhome.com/how-to-laser-engrave-tumblers/#settings-for-engraving-powdercoated-tumblers
Thank you for the video, you have shown some great features. How are you venting/fume extracting for wood cutting--i'm lost in the details between the desktop air purifier, and the floor standing fume extractor, and windows venting. Thank you :)
Hi there! Yes, it can be a little confusing. The smoke purifier (sold by xTool) will help reduce a lot of the fumes. You'll just need to plan on replacing the filter when it gets dirty. I also invested in an inline fan (not an xTool product) to suck more of the fumes out. In all cases, you would vent out a window. The fan simply sucks more fumes out. The Air Assist is more of a tool that helps achieve cleaner cutting and prevents scorching inside the machine. You can read more about my setup here: www.firstdayofhome.com/xtool-m1-review/#safety-considerations--accessories. I hope this helps!
It's an IKEA table top with Kallax units on the side. You can see more here in this clip: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-iEuEm3u5s0o.htmlsi=YJV4hlrtcM5fhdW9&t=359.
