My favorite thing about your weekend vlogs is getting a sneak peak throughout the weekend, and then reliving our conversations on Tuesdays when I watch them <3
Yes! Elatsoe! A snake falls to earth is my favorite of her books, but I have the Elatsoe prequel that just released (Sheine Lende) on my shelf, ready to read
@jennsbookshelf_ I will have to reread it and see but Sheine Lende definitely says "a prequel to Elatsoe" and "Elatsoe #0" but now I have to reread A snake falls to earth cos I didn't notice the overlapping characters!
every time you talk about Empire of Exiles I get so excited to read itttttt. Can't fit it in my TBR plans until August though **sobs** my fav sequel was the final book in the Leviathan Wakes series! What a killer ending and I'm SO picky about series endings. Some of my must watch authors I discovered this year are Nat Cassidy for horror, Joelle Wellington for YA thrillers, and YOU for my cozy kick! LOL
Well, I'm already working on Empire of Exhiles, thanks to you. 😂 Definitely getting a 'A Tempest of Tea' due to Allyreads. Im curious how I would like it. Tea Dragon Society is also on my tbr. My favorite book I read in June is 'A Second Story', by J.A. Collignon. Wonderful book. I need to get cracking on Arrowmount book 2 soon.😂
Me seeing the title: *sobs* Tell me your secrets!😂 Love the nature shots. Given that I'm basically allergic to every darn tree, I'm living vicariously through you.
🤣🤣 my secrets only include tandem reading with an audiobook mostly. And doing nothing else (except getting bothered by mum every so often to do things LOL) Thank you as well!! I don’t love the outdoors but having the deer in our backyard is quite lovely to watch ✨
The books on my TBR with Q, X, or Z: -The Quill and the Vial by Bree Moore (I think I added it b/c plant magic?) -The Queen of Days by Greta Kelly (Epic fantasy?) -Zachary Ying and the Dragon Empereor (Xiran Jay Zhao's Middle Grade fantasy)
Honestly half of my drafts are a RAGING mess - like A Little Luck and AM book 3, those are just trash - but every so often I get a clean enough first draft I can send out. I planned this novella so tightly that I think it really helped!! 🫶🏻🫶🏻
The Vince Gueraldi Trio’s “What Child is This” seems fitting for the cozy vibes! It’s very nostalgic to me and as soon as I could play the sheet music I played it over and over and over again 😂
Wooo!! I'm so ready for this! 🙌🏾 10:07 This is me when I write anything romantic 😅. I'm on the Aro/ Ace Spectrum, and I rely on the romances I've read before or just writing them as really great friends with spice😂. 13:22 I was just about to ask for a music recommendation! I need some new music to consume.
🫶🏻🫶🏻🫶🏻🫶🏻 ahahaha i too am just relying on romances 🤣🤣 And omg! I am listening to the playlist cabin in a snowstorm (on Spotify) for this book which is very wintery - but if you haven’t yet listened to Chappel Roan, I highly recommend. HIGHLY she’s my queen 🤩
I'm so glad your reading turned around for this weekend! 🙌 also yay for An Island Princess Starts a Scandal!!! It's historical and romance 😉 I'll be so curious to hear your thoughts! 💜
I love watching these videos! I'm glad you are doing better reading wise 😂. Thanks to you, I now have 'Empire of Exhiles' on hold at the library. Can't wait to pick it up and read it. Great video, as always!❤ Also, I was curious about what writing software you use?
Ahhhh thank you so much!!! Omg I hope you enjoy it 🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩 My writing software is Scrivener! I swear by it, I love having everything I need in one place.
Madame! I'm still in the midst of A Second Story, and you deliver this video. My poor, poor tbr 😂. Empire of Exhiles and Drinks and Sinkholes are the ones I'm eyeing up next.
The Aisling Sea trilogy (complete) by Vanessa Rasanen is a fantasy romance with boats and pirates! Loved it. Not heavy fantasy. And indie!! These Soundless Caves by Audrey Francis-Plante is similar - fantasy romance but light fantasy. In Deeper Waters by F.T. Lukens is YA light fantasy. Annnddd the Tessa Bailey books I guess? Hook, Line, and Sinker is the one I can think of right now
Always recommend Crow Winter by Karen McBride! I can't wait to hear what she reads next! Also I found out that Olivia Atwater is Canadian so definitely recommending Half a Soul! 😊
Okay, so I haven't read this book yet, but I recently got 'The Pendant of Hyacinth' Book One Awakened by Riley S. Quinn. One of the main characters is non-binary and I am an avid follower of her Instagram, where she draws her characters. So, I bought the book! Hopefully, I will like it.
Another one I thought of as I was posting this video - if you like horror, try The Scourge Between Stars by Ness Brown! It’s a little novella, short and sweet, something is in the walls.
You know I have recs for this one since it's my fave 😅 Master of One by Jaida Jones and Dani Bennett is fantastic! The Riyria Revelations series by Michael J. Sullivan (some of his are indie published)! Also underrated (but YA) is Sisters of Sword and Song!
Your girl math is the best omgsh 😂 I am using that to buy a book. If I use cash it doesn't count 😂😂 I admit I'm always a teensy bit nervous to recommend books - we either feel the same or VERY different 😅 but one I couldn't put down recently was An Island Princess Starts a Scandal! Most recent 5 star was A Feather So Black ❤
Omg so recently I have decided to try reading in tandem with audiobooks and it is so weird! Cos my eyes need to move really fast, but when the narrator is at that speed it sounds too weird and fast and it takes me out of it! Like, having that speed of my eyes vocalized is TOO weird 😂
Hahaha that makes sense! I started out listening and reading at about 1.7x speed and made my way up to this (3x speed) over a few years. I get so annoyed if I’m reading faster than the person is reading to me 🤣🤣
I’m the same! I read faster than I listen so when I’m tandem reading gideon my eyes are moving faster than the audio but if I’m speeding up the audio to match my eyes I would get so lost 😅
Hey Jenn! I am so sorry you are having such terrible luck with books. But goodnees is it entertaining to watch. I love watching you while I work. Maybe June should just be re-read month 😂.
