When is the flatpak version getting fixed? I'd rather do it the way it's meant to be done but it's taking so long for this to get fixed. I might give ChimeraOS a go since it comes with roms support.
The flatpak method is way easier and takes up WAY less space 😭 but as far as I know there isn’t any updates on if or when it’s getting fixed! And I haven’t had much exposure to ChimeraOS but I will check it out!

I have an issue on one of my builds as well where it isn’t starting the game if I try starting it from the home screen but it will start after big picture mode opens, is this the case for you? I haven’t found a fix for it yet but it doesn’t happen with every install just sometimes 🤔
Does it matter I tried to install steam old way it had the steam icon with name value corporation but it was not working I’m trying your way it says error built
Great Video, I found it very helpful. If I create a 1.5 TB MicroSD Batocera build for the OLED Steam Deck, is it possible to create a short cut or a way of running the Memory from Steam on the Deck like you can using Emudeck? Thanks.
So if your saying the steam version of batocera being able to see your steam deck steam files (like ones downloaded on the regular steam os) I don’t know of a way to do that unfortunately.. MAYBE if the steam games on the regular steam os side of things where installed to another drive or partition other than the main one but even then I’m not sure I will look into that!
Love the walk through videos on themes. Might try this one out. My main theme is Tiled, I like how the consoles menu is compact and easy to move from console to console.
@@KevsBatoceraBuilds that would be great. I have made kodi builds for 12 plus years. I just jumped into batocera after years of playing retro games on my shield. This has sparked my interest and look forward to learning more.
ok so so far this is only good for BAT 38 and under? Right now it seems that there is a steam issue with BAT 39 and higher. Folks are trying to find some workarounds online. Any updates to all this?
I’m actually glad you asked I’m going to flash a v39 tonight and test it people on Reddit are saying that this method will work on 39 but I can’t confirm yet
Hey ! I can confirm the install method I use in this video WILL work with v39! Good luck and Happy Gaming !!!! Side note I don’t recommend upgrading to v39 if you don’t absolutely need it!
@@KevsBatoceraBuilds I appreciate the reply. Thank you. I know what you mean by upgrading, it has totally been a mixed bag each time I upgrade. But since upgrading, PC gaming has been better. More games are compatible now. At least with my system. Thank you 👍
I changed the format of my drive to Ext4 instead of NTFS and I'm currently seeing if it fixes the issue rn, so far seems positive, however this was a tricky process as Ext4 drives cannot be natively read or written on using Windows, if you have another Linux machine however I'm sure it'd probably be allright
@KevsBatoceraBuilds Yup, that fixed the issue, a bit of a pain tho just cause of not being able to access the part of the drive partitioned as ext4 through windows
@Bennybiscuits2 Glad to know there is a fix! And I have another Linux PC so it’s a none issue for me but I 100% understand! Any build I do for someone else I try and reformat it so they can access the drive via windows!
That's actually really neat! I used the fake PS3 one before and did not like the way the XMB wave kind of struggled and looked choppy, even on my gaming rig!
I'm glad I'm not the only one that has a displeasure in bezels. Sometimes they can look neat and be helpful if you are playing a 640x480 game on your phone, I think it gives the variety of systems you may emulate some character, but I don't think people realize how much screen real estate you're losing when you use the GBA bezel for example. Why would you want the screen to be that tiny??! Another unpopular opinion I have is I don't particularly care for the green screen filter everyone seems to use when playing Game Boy games. I have a real Game Boy. That green screen is horrible. It's 2024 now. I like using something that's easier on my old eyes.
On the phone it’s cool! Especially with the button layout to make it look like you’re holding a gameboy! But on my big tv the bezels look CRAZY.. and not in a good way lol
When i open steam big picture or steam it doesnt open, sometimes it takes a while as though its about to open but never does, do you know what the issue could be?
You got back into the terminal, type the curl -L command that I showed in the video and then instead of installing arch container you uninstall it is option 4!
Yoooo if you want to get videos working, you can toggle that view in the User Interface settings! A lot of themes have various options you can tweak 👌🏽 there's also a Dark Mode toggle for this theme that I think looks even better
Thanks! I ended up going in and turning them on a little while after I made the video! I need to make an update video but also for a while I was showing off all the themes default “as is” but now I go in and tweak stuff!
Thank you for the review. I suggest you update Batocera or Retrobat so that you can enjoy all the latest additions to the theme. From what I see, the system grid doesn't fit well for this reason.
