I'm Dorothy Guinan and welcome to my RU-vid channel, Scrapbooking Quebec. I make layout process videos and share tips and tricks on anything scrapbooking related.
I've been a passionate memory keeper since 2004, and believe in the importance of preserving family history. Photos and the written word are a wonderful way to achieve this. I hope To inspire viewers to do the same!
What a gorgeous layout, Dorothy! Your title looks grounded with the final change. I always take photos as I’m scrapping. It helps so much in my process, and so good of you to pass that tip along. Thank you for sharing another great video. I always enjoy them. 😊
So excited to see you are also using 49 and Market Vintage Orchard! I recently purchased the collection kit, embellishments and word titles from a local craft retailer who had a great sale. Can’t wait to see what you create with the collection!
As always, I love your layout shares. I also want to thank you for your homage to Janet Madison. She is amazing and has been an inspiration to so many. I discovered her during the pandemic, and without her I wouldn't have found you. All good things!
I'm so thrilled to see you incorporating more SU! products into your scrappy kits & plans. I started following you a couple years ago because as a long-time SU! demo I was struggling to figure out how to continue memory keeping once SU! moved away from their focus on traditional 12x12. You have been such an encouragement! I recently participated in the Crop n Cre8 Delivered with SCT Magazine as a way to 'crash course' and kick start my re-entry as I took about an 8 year break from scrapbooking. You have really made a difference. Your process makes so much sense paring down the many, many choices we have as demonstrators who have been active for so long. Appreciate you!
What awesome kit/collections you’ll be working with. The 49th market papers are gorgeous. Anxiously awaiting to see what you create with it all. Thanks my friend for sharing and hope you feel better soon. Haven’t seen Chester in awhile so tell him we said hello. 🧡🍁🍂
Awesome layouts, as usual!! We are all going to miss Janet, but I can certainly understand her need to retire. She has left all of us a gift that we can enjoy for years to come.
Sure! I bought it at Dollarama in the cosmetic section. (I don't have a name for it, but it was a product they sold for quite some time. I'm not sure if it's still there.) Thanks for watching!
These are stellar! I just love your work. Thank you for sharing your talent with us. It was so kind of you to honor Janet. I'm thankful her work is still around to rewatch. Can't wait to see your next amazing works of art.😊
Thanks so much for the fun layout share! I can’t wait on your upcoming kit shares. It was so glad to hear you thank Janet for her contributions. Janet, I hope you are enjoying your retirement!
Absolutely beautiful layouts and cards! I am so impressed that you already have so many Christmas cards, what great supplies. Those envelopes are wonderful. Thanks for always taking the time to share, hugs ~ Roni Sue
Fabulous layout Dorothy! I had no idea you are an SU demonstrator, I was excited to hear you announce that and looking forward to the layouts you create with SU products. Well I look forward to all of your layouts but I’m still excited 😂
Since 2013...lol! I was with CM before that. I would have loved to join CTMH but it was never available in Quebec. Thanks for watching! (I'm quite thrilled YOU are with SU now....I'll finally have some of the same tools as you!
I love your layout!! Absolutely gorgeous. You used a flip up card, so I'm assuming you don't slip your pages into page protectors? Has this ever caused an issue?
Thank you! As for the flip, I store them under my page protectors. I don't like cutting slits in page protectors because I fear they may tear over time. The photos under the flips are always extra photos. It's like a storage method. I always put a tab or indicate in my journaling that there are photos under the flap.
Thank you! I didn't use green...what you are seeing is probably SU Wild Wheat. Most of my tackle stamping was second generation stamping, so it's a little faded. Thanks for watching!
Hello Dorothy, I've been trying to curb my spending, but I really need those fishing stamps and dies. My parents house (now ours) is on a river and I have loads of fishing photos from friends and relatives fishing there and/or fish fries over the years. I no longer go out there and the property taxes and other costs are getting out of control (it's about an hour away, depending on traffic, so I'm ready to sell; however, I have 3 other siblings who cannot agree on a realtor). I haven't scrapped many of those photos because I haven't been able to find papers I like. Clustering the fishes in the way you did was clever and gave me a fabulous idea. My dad was an avid fisherman and I have a 60+ year old newspaper photo of him and 2 other gentlemen holding up a long string of fish (like a banner), which is now inspiring me to dig that out and create a page as soon as the stamp & die set arrives. Love how you filled up the tackle box with all the bobbers, weights, hooks, etc. Such a fun double-page layout. Thank you so much for sharing your process for the 2 pages. BTW, I think there is a rather large ECD tree die that may have worked on this page...it could be a Christmas tree though, it's been a while since I've gone through those dies. Have a wonderful rest of your weekend!
Hi Cindy! The table box is super cool. As for the ECD tree die...I have it and LOVE it! I tried it and it still seemed off scale...that's why I ended up with leaves. (I had the same thought as you!) Thanks for watching! Are you safe from this hurricane?
I love the idea of you doing a SU video once a month, that’s why I started following you many years ago. I am a SU demo in Australia and have always looked for scrapbooking videos that use SU products. I am so glad you found a FB group recently that I am an Admin for along other ladies around the world. I hav3 always loved your style and you are a great inspiration, just wish I had more time to scrapbook. Can’t wait for your future videos.😊
Thanks Tina! I was thrilled to find your group and cannot believe I hadn't found it earlier. I thought I was alone in the SU scrapbooking world and now I found a world wide group! Thank you for making this happen! Thanks for watching as well!
