Did you mention how you have your camp chef table mounted? Is it secured to the unistrut as well? Wife and I plan to get an ovrlnd camper next year for our gladiator, less bed space of course, so just trying to keep it super basic.
Yeah I secured it with two bungees to the unistrut and one more hooked to the base of it just for assurance. That's if you want the legs extended. When I had the legs collapsed just sitting on the floor of the truck it was super stable.
awesome build man! I am also a first gen tundra owner but went with a Project M! Love watching both Overlandcamper and Project M builds and i'm definitely digging your Overlandcamper setup! super practical and spacious! what type of material did you use for your wall? sick design
Hi! Thanks for the kind words. Yes I love the project M as well. Both are great setups. For the walls pattern I just picked one out at Joanne's... It's soft fabric wrapped around my insulation boards and they're just pressed into the studs. Super easy. Uncovered the studs in sticky back Velcro. Much different wall setup from project m
Downstairs is just a 24" roll-up mattress from Amazon that doesn't feel great. The upper is custom from foam factory and it's the 3" HQ. There's a company on Instagram called @overlandfoam that also makes great mattresses and covers. I'm going to have another one made for the lower levels soon.
Haha dude I'm always making things more complicated. Then I get frustrated because it's too cluttered and I start all over. I think I found a happy medium with this setup. Thanks for the compliments!
We use the side hatch in our OVRLND Campers truck camper for accessing items used daily. T hi is is a nice rig. I am looking for some storage bags. Is thee a name on the bags that you could share? So far, I can’t seem to find anything like that on Amazon. Thanks.
Hi. Thanks for commenting and appreciate the compliments on our rig. Are the bags you're talking about the one in my table? Those came with the Camp Chef Sherpa table. I'm not sure if you can buy them separately. Here's the whole table on Amazon: amzn.to/45YKLy7
Oh yeah this little shelf was an idea my wife came up with for when we're popped up and hanging out in the camper (not sleeping). Sometimes my wife and daughter are up top playing board games and she wanted a place for her drink and phone. That little shelf folds up and down.
Yeah the lock fell out. They said it was a bad batch from the supplier and they already have it resolved. They sent me a new lock within days of me reaching out to them and I just haven't got around to installing it.
I just looked them up... very cool history. thanks for letting us know. amazing that people lived in there and it probably stayed nice and cool inside.
You're taking air from a shaded area outside and pulling it into the camper and up and out the fan (top). This creates a draft, making the camper feel cooler akin to a strong fan blowing. It's better than the camper just sitting collecting hot air and having it trapped inside. In my experience the camper cools 3-4 degrees and if the camper is insulated like mine it doesn't have to fight the sun as much. It's not going to feel like the AC is on but it'll make your living space tolerable.
Using the Maxxair Deluxe fan exhaust mode to pull fresh air from the outside with an open window will create a draft in your camper that feels nice and cool. Try to find air that is shading such as from the cabover area of your truck camper or the shaded side of your van. Products mentioned: Maxxair Deluxe Fan: amzn.to/3xEqpxb Anker Solix C1000 Power Station: amzn.to/3XJ0z5Q This method works great in my OVRLND Campers truck camper. It'll work great in all campers including Four Wheel Campers Project M, Tune M1, Topo Toppers, Kimbo Campers, and any RV or van that has a fan with exhaust mode. Let us know if you have any comments or questions!
Cool setup! I like how you could take everything out if you needed the whole bed area. I just ordered an Oru Bruin camper and trying to get idea on how to build it out. I like your setup and probably going to do something similar.
Thanks! Glad to help. You should join Facebook owners groups for various similar campers to help get ideas. That's what I did. Also be sure to check out my new site where I'm documenting everything about this build: ramblingytruckcamper.com
Thanks. Here are the squares I used. Most of them have held up fine and stayed attached but a few of them I had to add some super glue to hold them down on one corner. amzn.to/3Xkkrw0
Product Link: amzn.to/4bSZgWf (we may earn a commission from links in this post) This is how I installed a magnetic screen in the entrance to my truck camper made by OVRLND Campers. This will work on any opening for campers such as Topo Toppers, GFC, ORU Designs, Alu Cab, etc. This works great for camper vans too!
I want to get an Anker C1000 to power a Dometic fridge on camping trips. I read a review on Amazon for the C1000 that said if the 12V outlet doesn’t have a draw of at least 10W for an hour it shuts off. Have you experienced that? Curious if there’s validity to that. Wouldn’t want the fridge to power off if it doesn’t draw power from the Anker often enough if that’s actually a feature.
Yeah it's happened a few times to me. A way to circumvent that is to set the timer to run for the max time (23 hours 55mins). It will shut off, but you're notified on your phone app. From there I just switch it back on.
@@dirtnsmores Thank you for the response, I figured there was some kind of setting in the software you could change. I ended up buying the Ecoflow Delta 2 this morning just for the fact it was $20 cheaper on Amazon than the Anker. $579 vs $599. Both seemed comparable and I like how you can buy an extra battery for either to double the Wh for longer camping trips.
@@biggarfish no problem. I do have a small issue with the latches of the camper not having enough room to flip up or down with the awning there. OVRLND warned me that would happen beforehand but I had them install anyway. I haven't got a chance to work on the solution, so for now if I want to pop up or down the camper you will have to lift off the awning and move the latches. Not a huge deal as the awning is only 35 lb but kind of annoying
@@dirtnsmores That is a problem. I’m looking to mount one in front to protect my windshield and hood during hail storms more than shade from the side or rear.
can you bring the top down and have the bed pulled out at the same time? I would think that way you'd be able to keep more up there if you didn't opt for the additional cabover
It's called Clear Creek Campground about 30 minutes south of Sedona, Arizona. We stayed here for a night after we picked up this camper in n Flagstaff. Yeah it was super peaceful. You can find similar campgrounds to this up around Mammoth area. Specifically the Rock Creek Road. There are a handful of small campgrounds with a creek running through
That is definitely the easier way to go. I built my system from scratch, and I would 100% invest a little more and get an all in one unit like this. 👍 Love that it charges so quickly, that's cool!
Thanks for commenting as someone that has experience in this! I watched a lot of videos on doing my own setup and when showing my wife... She agreed that having something I can easily take out of the truck and use in the house in a blackout would be worth the small extra change for a all in one setup. I'll be wiring up power from the alternator soon!
@@dirtnsmores see that's another benifit. I can't exactly rip my system out of my camper and drag it in the house 😂 🤣 😂 🤣 absolutely agree, it's a great way to go. What are you going to use for your charge controller from the battery? Or do you even need one with that anker?
@@MikeBabsBC I'm either getting that little victron device that'll let me charge from the starting battery when the truck is running or the new Pecron device that does the same thing. Both around 500 watts to the power station
Products in video: Anker Solix C1000: amzn.to/4awF6jc Anker Power Strip: amzn.to/3yBNn88 For my @ovrlndcampers #truckcamper build I wanted a super easy way to get power to the truck bed. This would also work for #vanlife build. I didn't want to fuss with charge controllers, inverters, etc. A portable power station works super easy. The Anker Solix C1000 recharges from 0 to 100% in just under an hour from the wall power cord so I charge it up every 3-4 days in the garage. Eventually I plan to wire it up to the truck battery so it charges on the go! In another video you can see us playing on the Nintendo Switch and a laptop computer hooked up to my computer monitor in the camper. This is a great setup! Or maybe I'll even eventually mount it to one of the camper studs with a swivel arm TV mount. But at least now I know it works. This whole setup is only pulling about 30W!

Here's a quick video showing you how I access my camping fridge from the side hatch of my @ovrlndcampers truck camper on sitting on my 1st gen Toyota Tundra. I highly recommend getting this option if you're interested in one of these campers. Btw... I power my fridge with the Anker Solix C1000 portable power station. Highly Recommended!
