I grew up in NOLA in the 50s -70s... moved in the late 70s and missed the food, people and the ambiance only NOLA has! But most of all the bread! Looked everywhere i lived after moving from NOLA none came close! just pitiful lies calling it French bread! UNTIL i moved to France in 1981! Well guess what they have the real deal there or at leas they did back then!!! What people in america think is French bread is the BAGUETTE but that IS NOT the French Bread everyone in ate on a daily basis; some yes but as an every day loaf it was the FLUTE!! -wider than a baguette and not as hard of a crust, more crispy and flaky and with a crumb with alot of holes inside and when you tore it apart it STRETCHED....just like the bread in NOLA!! wow!! who'd a thunk i would actually find real NOLA French bread in FRANCE.. jeez! I hear too many people referring to NOLA bread as a baguette it just AIN'T. Now I am speaking of many years ago; and there was an influx of 'artisinal' breads in the 90s in France. These were great but you could still find the Flutes and Baguettes everywhere. At the same time there were these big huge shopping malls that had grocery stores where you could buy everything much like here in USA just not as ubiquitous as here. The bread sold in those markets is exactly like the poor pitiful things sold here in the US as "authentic french bread" ... this became more and more common and even some of the small village bakeries later in the early 2000s were selling the s.....! You had to look around and try a few small bakeries (boulangeries) ,that sold the regular old flutes and baguettes. Now, i can find all sorts of books on artisinal french bread but it seems they are referring to a baguette or boule, or mische. etc, all wonderful, but I am going to try my hand at a sour dough recipe for a FLUTE but i cannot find one using that name.... My x-husbands grandmother told me she always made bread and the process she spoke about sounded like it may have been a kind of sour dough or "old dough" recipe. She used a big dough box on legs which was still in the house where she lived. Oh and from what i have read, Leidenheimers bought out Reisings in the 90s Long after i moved away, did Reisings come back to NOLA?? .. the (L) bread looks different and may well be. I've given up on finding a really good recipe from this day and age for NOLA po boy bread, and maybe the Leidenheimers recipe on line is great but the finished results in the pics just dont look right... too much like a hogie from .. the supermarket.. I'm going to work on an old dough french bread recipe and make sure my bake room is very warm and humid as i am sure the bakeries were back in the day in NOLA, baking that one and only non-replicatable french bread! Wish me luck.
My middle finger on my left hand has been doing this for a bout a month, but in recent day much more. It is scary due to not knowing the cause. Has anyone had this and had it go away on its own?
Me, too, you. How are you doing with your classes? Loved pic of Sara and all of you at Thanksgiving. All of you look great!!!! You certainly have changed from your younger self in the video!!! You've grown up, girl! Don't forget to send me any writing you do that you want to share. Would love to read it or see any artwork you're doing. Know you are probably swamped with ROTC and classes but would love to see any work that you do. Love you!
Having the same thing on my left pinky finger and I’ve been very stressed lately and not eating well and also lots of caffeine :/ Anywhoo I heard that low level of vitamin B could cause twitches so I just bought a bottle of vitamin b-complex. Been taking it for almost 2 days now and the twitching is slowly improving and at least not bothering me at night when I’m trying to rest. Go get a vitamin-b complex bottle (got mine from Walmart) and see what that does for you. Worth a shot!
You can also drain canned vegetables to reduce sodium content by 36%, while draining plus rinsing with running water cuts sodium content by 41%. Fill up your pantry - or “cantry®” - with some canned vegetables to prepare quick, nutritious, everyday meals and snacks for you and your family.
Every article I googled said draining and rinsing canned vegetables reduced salt content. And they all varied in the percentage. It probably reduces some of the nutrients as well but some vegetables have a dangerously high level of sodium and should be reduced for those with health issues. Frozen vegetables are the best however. Draining and rinsing canned beans can reduce their sodium content by more than 40%. But taking just a few extra minutes is key to getting the most benefit. First, drain beans in a colander for two minutes. Then rinse the beans under cool running water for 10 seconds. Let drain for another two minutes. The reduced-sodium beans are ready to use in any favorite recipe.
I'm starting to have them too. I think it's from them stupid shots. My eyelid and left hand, finger, thumb twitches and now my left big toe. I'm worried. I've seen doctor after doctor over the past year, they don't know. Just came on over the past year and their getting harder and harder.
Just started getting almost the same thing (only my middle finger is twitching to the left). It seems like it twitches with my heart rate. It’s happened a few times and lasts for like a minute before going away. Interesting that you mention bupropion I also take it. Could also be anxiety as I have that pretty badly. Hence the bupropion haha. Here’s hoping mine also goes away..
All of my daughters fingers on her entire hand, right and left does this. Her toes are starting to do it as well. It also causes cramping in her knuckles that causes pain. She also has proximal muscle weakness, spasticity and hand weakness, she can not sit down to get on the floor. She has to bend over and get on her knees then roll over to her bottom. She can't climb stairs, curbs, etc. She becomes extremely fatigued after physical exertion. Her knees are close together and her ankles far apart and swings her hips forward to bring each leg forward. She does not bend her legs while walking. She is also starting to experience cognitive decline and is becoming extremely emotional. For instance, she thought she heard someone say "nobody likes you." She didn't know for sure if that's what they said or if they were talking to her but had her so upset she wanted to leave school because she thought it was putting her in danger. She is also forgetting things she used to know very well. Her memory is going as well. She is 16. She had a lot of significant development delays when she was little that resulted in her needing physical therapy, occupational therapy and speech therapy
Since tasting Leidenheimer's French Bread in New Orleans, we've been trying Every Recipe for french bread that we can find and NONE of them come out like Leidenheimer's French Bread which is The Best bar none! I wish Someone could come up with a recipe that...um...was even close to New Orleans Leidenheimer's bread because we can't fly to New Orleans every time we want to make a Po-Boy:( There are more French Bread recipes on the Internet than you can shake a stick at BUT none of them even come close to the taste and texture of Leidenheimer's French Bread.
Reising's bread doesn't even come close to the quality and unique texture of Leidenheimer "French" bread, Reising's bread is too hard and it's interior dough is too dense unlike Leidenheimer, as a side note, there's sandwich spots in other cities such as Houston (Antone's), Philadelphia, Chicago and some others which say they make and sell "poboys", which in reality, those "poboys" are only fried seafood on hoagie or some other kind of brioche bread, not AUTHENTIC New Orleans Leidenheimer French bread!
I've heard that even if you had the recipe, you won't be able to properly replicate it outside of the new orleans because the water, the sea level, local humidity and barometric pressure all are factors in how they achieve that specific fluffiness and paper thin outer crust. That said - KC Daquiri Shop in kansas city mo has the best shrimp po boys I've ever had outside of Royal street - - but to be fair, I think the shop owners are from New Orleans and I believe they have their bread shipped in weekly from New Orleans.
thank you so much for your sharing. Could you pls share which kind of Magnesium? I found so many kind and I dont know which one is good. thank you again
Nature Made Magnesium is a good brand. 250 mg tablets or pills. As soon as pain/symptoms go away, you can stop taking it. Don't want to take for a long time as it does build up in the system. For several weeks or a month or so should be fine. Good luck! Just saw your comment sorry so late in replying.
"People with finger twitching may worry that they are developing a neurological disorder. However, when this twitching does not accompany other symptoms, it is typically not a cause for concern" i read this at internet
Dude, I’m 21 and i’ve been having the same issue on my little finger for about a week now. It always occurs when i relax my hand or when i do use my tablet for daily tasks. I don’t know either why this keeps happening but I’m really afraid that something wrong is going on....
It could be stress or dehydration, it’s not always some horrible. People get twitches. But if you feel something is wrong then you should go to the dr. Gut feelings are there for a reason.
@@hdn4nd yes it did! After 2 years or so…. The cause of it was lack of sleep, stress anxiety and lack of hydration… start improving your life if this keeps persisting.. Hope this helped
Found this link about why and treatment. I definitely am dehydrated; don't drink enough. Not sure if that's why but if it is cause could certainly contribute to twitching. www.doctorshealthpress.com/general-health/fingers-twitch-causes-home-remedies/
