Scans will show tumors and cysts, but will not diagnose as to whether they are malignant. There is no simple blood test to detect ovarian cancer. Blood tests will indicate that something is amiss, similar to the PSA test for prostate cancer. But these tests do not specifically indicate cancer. Surgical biopsy is the only way to confirm cancer, for either prostate or ovarian cancers.
I have a 14cm mass they said is a fallopian tube..that fallopian tube was removed 8yrs ago after a hysterectomy. It has fluid and solid components, my ovary is starting to torsion, the dr says it’s fine. They are considering aspirating it in two weeks. Due to many other surgeries due to extensive endo & ovarian cysts. I had cervical cancer in 2002. My left ovary is enlarged with mixed density, solid components. My ca-125 is “normal” however in Ontario u can’t chose your physician to treat without referrals. There are 3 drs all with conflicting opinions, but because I was referred to a certain one, I can’t see the others. I’m 42 single mom of two. My health is deteriorating and I’m not being heard. Dr said because my blood level doesn’t show cancer on the ca-125 then I’m fine. But not all reproductive cancers show on that test 🥺
I am stage 4b, am now on olaparib and avastin and keeping my fingers crossed it will keep the cancer away for a good while. I was given this because I responded well to chemo and have HRD mutation.
NO, that does NOT work; forget medical mafia genocide RX; do your homework and you will agree, must boycott and warn others!!! OMG!!! Good news, Natural heailing is superior except for liberals, they get chemo! :)
to everyone going thru something: please never forget you are so strong and beautiful and amazing❤ never forget God and Jesus are so amazing and they have everyone through everything always and forever💪🏻🙏🏻❤️✝️ my love and prayers are with everyone🙏🏻❤️🩵🩷
When diagnosed with OC my CA125 was 1064 - I had to ask if there was meant to be a decimal point in there (black humour). Be aware that some types of OC tend to raise CA125 a lot more than others, and the level doesnt always reflect the stage (how advanced) it is (eg mine was early stage endometrial, and raised it a lot, whereas people I know with more advanced high grade serous OC - the most common OC subtype) didnt always have a big rise). So if you have the symptoms, please do insist on BOTH the blood test AND an ultrasound scan. 👍💐
Interesting, feeling how the bloating and pain receded within approximately two months made all the difference, I simply go’ogled the latest by Tilly Strankten and her Ovarian Cyst Guide and although it really took about 10 weeks for it to totally shrink and vanish I’ve never felt so light and relaxed.
My heart goes out to you so much. I lost my beloved mommy to ovarian cancer. She was diagnosed at stage 4. She was way too late for surgery so it was chemo only to try to keep it down but it never worked for very long and her treatment options soon ran out because she was so poorly and weak. She lived for 14 months only before I lost her. 💔
I would be ill for about a week after each chemo treatment, felt as though I had gastric flu, achey, nauseous and very weak. That was the platinum chemo carboplatin and paclitaxel. Losing my hair was the least of my worries, I just wanted to be able to feel normal.
My first session I thought might kill me 3rd day onward for 3 days, bad reaction, lot of pain. They dropped paclitaxel and only carbo 2nd time. Better. Third the fatigue extreme on 4th and 5th day as they added Avastin. Other than that my ascites settled. No need for further drainage so far. Three more to come. It is what it is. Staff wonderful.
In June 2020 {17th to be exact as it was my birthday} I was told i had stage 3c Ovarian cancer. I had previously been 3 times to my GP who kept telling me i had IBS and UTI. I know that i did have UTI's as i checked my urine several times and nothing shown up. This was the start of the Covid pandemic. This year i had my 1st recurrence and had 6 round of chemo. I have been told my my Oncologist that yes the cancer will come back!! it is treatable and NOT curable. IF my GP had listened to me in the January of 2020 I dont think i would of got a high lever of diagnosis. This is why Ovarian Cancer is Titled The Silent Killer.
I have been fortunate I managed have lunch with My MP Liz Truss. and gave her the pathfinder report and went through everything and she is onboard .. 😊 1:11
I'm going through the same thing and I'm only 33 years old. The doctor felt confident it wasn't cancer because of my age but the CA125 test revealed it was. I haven't gotten surgery yet. I hope it all turns out ok.
@fatimagull3288 Funny story. I was scheduled for surgery for November 13, but it turns out I'm pregnant! The chances of that happening are vary small, but it happened. Now, they decided to wait until I give birth to do the surgery. Hope it all goes well! 🙏
@fatimagull3288 it's 12cm. The ca125 was 207, but it went down slowly. I was taking Quercetin. It is now only 35. But the cyst is still there, but it's probably not cancerous.
