Welcome to MiCaleb Goes West! We are Caleb and Michelle West, and we have a full blown case of wanderlust. We have dedicated as much of our lives as possible to traveling the world, finding adventures, hanging out with amazing people, and eating and drinking everything in our path. Now our adventures continue as we try to show our little girl how much fun this world can be when you spread optimism and aren’t afraid to try new things. We may not be professional RU-vidrs, but we are professional life-lovers. Nothing gives us a natural high like experiencing something new, and we aim to have fun in everything that we do. We would love to share our adventures with you. Welcome aboard!
Thank you! We are always trying to find new restaurants in the Orlando area, but we will admit that hit these places quite often because they are so good! Thanks so much for watching! We hope you have some great eats this weekend!
Hello! We're trying to decide on either the Sunset Royal OR Marina for a family trip. Do you know if you can access the Sunset Royal if you stay at the Marina? We don't necessarily need to stay on the beach, but we would like to pop over and visit for the day (similar to what you did, but in reverse). Not sure if they allow Sunset Marina guests to also visit the sister property.
Greetings! When we were there they allowed guests to hop freely from each resort. Our all inclusive access worked at both properties so we were able to eat at the Marina resort even though we stayed at the Sunset. They have a small boat that carts guests to both hotels, and they also have a bus with regularly scheduled times throughout the day. So you should have no problem accessing both properties during your stay. You can always contact the hotel just to be sure, but that was how it worked for us last year. Hope that helps! Have a great vacation!
Oh my gosh it’s delicious!!! That was the first time we’ve ever tried lasagna pizza and now we crave it. We have tried to make it at home a few times but nothing tastes quite as good as this one. Thanks for watching!
@@micalebgoeswest of course. I visited for the first time over the 4th of July. My boss had told me about this pizza joint, but she couldn’t remember that it was called Pizza Time. All she remembered was that it was on St. George. I was with friends and we stepped foot in Pizzalley, which I am sure is good. But it didn’t seem like the atmosphere my Boss had said. I didn’t even sit down. I left them, and walked until I found something that seemed like it was what my Boss talked about.
@DizzyDavis17 well, we are equal opportunity pizza eaters and pretty much love it all. That being said, Pizza Time is a special one so we are happy your found it. We can’t wait to go back 😀🍕
Thanks so much! We are huge fans of each of the restaurants and breweries in this video, so we hope you enjoy them as much as we did. We are working on our next Orlando food guide now so hope to share some new favorites soon. Thanks so much for watching!
Loved this video! It felt so genuine and really captured the essence of the place. My family and I have been to Florida a few times, and we’re coming over again this October for my wife’s 40th. We love to mix things up and try new places to eat each time we visit. Thanks to your recommendation, Pig Floyd’s is definitely on our list this year. Thank you for the great content!
We are so happy you enjoyed our Orlando food recommendations! We are really proud of that local food scene that Orlando has built up over the years. When we first moved here over 15 years ago it was only chain restaurants and theme parks, but it has grown so much since then. We hope your wife has an awesome 40th birthday full of excellent foods! Wishing y’all a wonderful trip!
This is great timing on this recommendation because we were just scoping out Smoke Made Meats and adding it to our list. We are huge fans of central texas style BBQ and then we heard that this place has lines out the door. We will 100 percent check it out-thank you for sharing! Another good BBQ spot is Bo’s Boys BBQ in winter garden. It’s essentially a pop-up BBQ spot on Saturdays and their food is excellent. Thanks for watching!
@@micalebgoeswest that’s how smoke made started before they got their brick and mortar! I’ll check them out in winter garden. Smoke made is to die for! And I grab a beer from rockpit brewery right after or before
This video is super helpful! My partner and I have always traveled as a couple, but now we’re planning to take our first trip with our infant in the near future ,It’s a whole new adventure, and your videos are giving me some much-needed confidence. Thank you!
Wow-we can’t tell you how much this comment means to us. Like y’all, we traveled so much as a couple and when we had our daughter we made it a huge priority to keep it going. She is almost 3 now and we have been able to take her on so many adventures, and these are some of our favorite travel memories. It’s not always easy traveling with an infant or toddler, but it’s SO REWARDING! And this St. Thomas Margaritaville trip was one of our faves. We wish you and your family many safe trips and awesome memories in the years to come 😀🛫🏝️
We are so happy you enjoyed it! We just love the food scene in Austin, and it’s so cool how many family friendly breweries and restaurants they have. We hope you have some great foods in your future 😀. Thanks for watching!

Went there with my wife for our anniversary. It was loaded with "new Canadians". Similar to a locust infiltration. Worst experience ever. Opposite from romantic.
Oh my gosh I’m so sorry that was your experience there! That being said, your comment made us actually laugh out loud. We must have hit this hike at a good time because it wasn’t very crowded at all. Hoping that rest of your anniversary went well and featured no locusts 😀
We truly appreciate you watching and are so happy you enjoyed it!!! As you saw, we were blown away by the property. It was so beautiful and well kept. Wishing y’all a wonderful 26th anniversary and safe trip!
Thanks so much for watching and commenting! We are just little amateurs who loved to travel and share, so we truly appreciate that anyone outside of our parents actually watch 😀. This cabin is listed on Airbnb. Link is below. We hope you enjoy it as much as we did! www.airbnb.com/slink/aYgGuo77
That coffee shop is right up my alley. The magnolia property looks great. Very Americana. She has that signature style. Seems like a great place for family’s. And that food looked delicious. As a yankee in the south we have come to love the biscuits. All those places look so well designed and decorated. Can Ellie go? 😂 great video guys!
Ha I do think magnolia is dog friendly so Ellie can probably go 😀. You are right-this place is very traditional Americana. It really is a stunning property. And the food! My wife is also a yankee in the south and, like you, has fully adopted southern style biscuits!
Well thank you! I actually travel very little for work. Before Covid I traveled a great deal but since then I’m pretty stationary in Orlando. But I get a TON of vacation time so we make sure it’s well used 😉
@@doodsanddudes you have the dream job then! I am trying to get a remote role but at least I get solid vacation time. Everything is a trade off, but it looks like we are both doing okay 😀
Cool video. Next time y’all are in Jackson check out Cook’s Lunch Room, it’s one of my favorites. Also the boat ramp watching at Fire and Ice is a great pass time in the Summer.
Thank you so much for the recommendations! We try to at least stop by Jackson once a year so we will definitely check it out. We really fell in love with this little town. Thanks so much for watching!
Well we are jealous of your lifestyle! We live in the Clermont area and Winter Haven, Lake Alfred, and Lakeland are our places to escape the tourist bubble. We absolutely love the Winter Haven lakes, and those restaurants are just amazing. We love your hometown! Thanks so much for watching and maybe we will run into you at a lakeside eatery one day 😀
Thanks for the video! I have a couple of questions: my kids LOVE to boogie board- did the resort provide boogie boards or surf boards that you can rent? Also, I heard there can be bad rip currents around that area- if its a red flag, do they still let you go into the water? Or do they prevent you from going in the water? Thanks!
We are so happy you enjoyed it! We love the Sunset Royal Resort and are anxiously awaiting our return trip. When we were there the resort recreation department had boogie boards to rent, but we aren’t sure about surf boards. Regarding the waves and current, this beach did not have lifeguards. So we could see the red flag but there is no one there to patrol the beach or stop anyone from entering the water even if it’s dangerous. The waves were super big when we were there so we never actually got in the water, but we were also traveling with an infant so that obviously played a part in that decision 😀. Their concierge department was really helpful during our stay so you can also contact the resort prior to your stay to see if they can provide any additional details. We hope this helps! Have an amazing trip!
That is so nice-thank you so much for watching and sharing that comment! Life is too short not to have fun, right? 😉 Thanks again and have a wonderful day!
My apologies but when I look in Airbnb it doesn’t show me the actual address anymore (since we don’t have an active booking). Here is the link to the Airbnb and it shows you the general area on the map. It’s was about a 10-15 minute drive to downtown blue ridge. Hope this helps! www.airbnb.com/slink/PDnp940M
Oh wow you guys are in Austin! You picked some amazing places. First of all African inspired bbq sounds absolutely amazing. The brisket taco is huge lol. I have been to Austin and it is such a food city I came to really enjoy the breakfast tacos. And the brewery’s, wow. You have a nack for finding some great options whatever city you are in! Great tour around Austin. Rodney has some amazing brisket. I forget have you been to lewis? If not put it on the list.
We LOVE the food scene in Austin! It’s a top ranking American food city for us, perhaps slightly behind Charleston and NOLA. It’s really where we fell in love with the brisket taco-and this was the best we’ve ever had by far. And you are right about Rodney Scott’s! That place is legit good BBQ! We haven’t been to Lewis so I’m definitely adding it our list. This was our third trip to Austin and even with a week there were still so many places we couldn’t get to!
We are happy you enjoyed it! We filmed this a couple years ago and just returned to St. Augustine last December, and that’s when we realized both Fiction Donuts and Donut Experiment closed. We hate that because both were really great donut shops. I’m sorry your last experience at GAS was a poor one. We’ve only been this one time but really enjoyed it. If you have any recommendations we would love to hear. St. Augustine is one of our favorite Florida cities so we are always looking for new foods to try!
Finally, ive been searching extensively for suggestions but everysingle video is a rinse and repeat of common tourist areas. While those are great i really wanted to find some hidden gems like these when i visit this year.
We are so happy this was helpful! We enjoy the tourist areas, too, but we do love to find some local spots, hidden gems, and mom & pop places on our trips. St. Augustine has so many restaurants to try so we hope you all eat well! It’s not shown in this video, but there is an amazing restaurant/bar called the Ice Plant that serves craft cocktails and scratch made foods. It’s in an actual old ice house converted into a speakeasy-type restaurant and it was very impressive. Have a great trip!
We hope you have an awesome time here in Orlando! We have lived here for almost 2 decades and we are really proud of the food scene. We have actually done 5 videos on where to eat in Orlando so check out the channel if you want to see more places. If you have any questions we are happy to assist. And yes, we have a 2 year old now who also loves to eat 😉
We just stumbled upon your video and channel! We're locals from the Great Smoky Mountains of Tennessee. Buddy's is one of our favorites, and there are so many hidden gems. AKA Mom and Pop places we tend to gravitate to.
@WeReviewU we are so happy you stumbled upon us! We live in central Florida, but we love to escape the heat and flatlands by traveling north to the Smokies. We absolutely love the area up there, and of course the food is amazing. We are so happy you commented because now we can see all your food recommendations for our next trip. We have to hit Buddy’s again because it was incredible, but after that we need to try some new places! Just subscribed and now looking forward to seeing all the places you try. Thank you!
@micalebgoeswest Small world 🌎! We lived in Ocala! We subscribed, too. We know the owners of Buddy's there in Sevierville. Great guy, and Saturday is all u can eat ribs 😉 😜
Ocala! That’s right down the road from us! We are in southwest Orlando, closer to the Lakeland area. And we are definitely going back to Buddy’s now that we know Saturday is all you can eat ribs 😀
Awe…well hopefully there is something on the menu for happy hour that will work! We went for an early lunch and the prices were a bit cheaper. Hope that helps!
Thank you so much! We really appreciate it. Hull’s is an amazing seafood place so we just want spread the word. Wishing you some great eats in your future!
Catching up on some older videos. What a beautiful falls. We have never done georgia falls but we have seen so many in western NC. Wow that is so high up! Great cascade. Really spectacular. Not sure about the steps 😢
Oh, this video is a deep cut! We were brand new and trying to figure out what we were doing (actually, we still are!). But yes, Amicalola Falls is stunning. There is a hotel at the top that overlooks the valley and it’s actually affordable and nice. The entire north Georgia/ East Tennessee/ west NC area is so beautiful. Every time we visit we find a new town or waterfall that just blows us away
Agreed! We have lived in Florida for so long that sometimes we just need to see hills and mountains. That regions has become our escape in recent years
These are the most fun and delicious videos on the internet. Man that juicy Lucy looks great! And a cold beer would go so well with that. Next time we are in orlando we have to try one of your stops in Claremont, winter park or lake norman. Now I am hungry geez! Yum guys! Tiki bar? Sign me up for a tiki drink. Burger looks legit there as well. Root and branch is totally our speed! Love a good cocktail. Oh the mess of a burger hahah. You killed it in this one. ☝️😎🫠
Thank you so much-this means a lot. We love showcasing all the great foods and drinks in our local area and Clermont truly is a gem. We didn’t intend on doing a burger tour of the area but it kinda just happened that way 😀. You won’t go wrong with any of these burgers! Thanks for the support! We truly appreciate it!
Pork belly is one of our favorite dishes! This one was particularly delicious because of that house made peach jam. I can’t even think about it without getting hungry 😬
Southern Hill Farms is so great for the family! It’s great to watch the kids run around and play on a farm. And the fruits and veggies are legit amazing. Speaking of that, it’s peach season so we have to go back!
This has become one of our favorite Christmas-themed events in Orlando. And the weather is so nice that time of year that you can be outside comfortably to enjoy all the family fun. Thanks for watching!
We didn’t know anything about Clermont! It’s such a beautiful area! London wants to really try the BBQ! All the burgers look great too! Fun video!! Thanks for all of the recommendations
Now that you have all been to Lake Louisa you just have to keep exploring the area 😀. Clermont is our favorite spot in the greater Orlando area because it gives us small town, lakeside vibes but still has so much to eat and do. We hope you have a great time when you go! And can’t wait to hear what London thinks of Donut King 😉
You are so right. Clermont is going to get big, but it’s such a nice, classic downtown area with some great mom & pop places. We hope Clermont maintains its small town charm as it grows.
The food is legit good in Clermont! And I agree with you about Michelle (this is Caleb 😉). Michelle says thank you! We don’t get date nights often so we go all out when we get them. Thanks so much for watching and have a great Sunday!
Thank you so much! We are so happy you enjoyed it. Everyone goes to Banff for the incredible nature (which is obviously worth it), but we couldn’t believe how good the food scene. We walked all over the downtown area and never had a bad meal. And all the calories we consumed fueled us for hiking! Thanks for watching and happy adventuring!
