EMS is a leading provider of 3D scanning and engineering services and equipment for product inspection and reverse engineering. Our goal in hosting this channel is to provide customers with real world application and product information so you can make intelligent decisions regarding 3D data capture, modeling and output options for your organization's quality control, reverse engineering or related applications.
It will take someone of fairly high modelling skill to work this software well with complex parts - the transferring to an target CAD application surely also means actually knowing how to model logically - but at least you have the finished part to go from to establish sensible / logical primary datum features etc.
The software is expensive because it costs millions of dollars and years to develop. Check out the new Design X Go at a great price point. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-FuSRFoQz4Z0.html
What a great tool. Are these scanners safe to take on a plane as hand carry? As we will need to be able to travel with them to various locations around the world.
Yes, we travel with these 3D scanners all the time. The smaller scanners like the HandySCAN we carry onto the plane and the larger ones we check as baggage. All Creaform 3D scanners come in Pelican cases with plenty of foam for protection.
Excellent video. thank you for posting. one comment is that at the end (around 27:15 you mention your website as "...EMS "dash" 3D.com" but the same website in large print at the bottom of the screen has no dash in it.
You should have mentioned that you reduced scaled the cleaned up external scan model along its locale coordinates system. Great video, so far. 😑🇦🇺🤜🏼🤛🏼☮️🍀😎
This is the only video I can find that pretty much covers what I'm looking for. I want to design a part that fits into another part using a 3D scan, its not a floor mat though, but I should be able to transfer this over to what I'm working on.
The new clipping plane tool, will it work with the original Handyscan elite? Is it something that needs to be purchased or is it something users can make themselves? Been using the Elite for just over a year (moved away from Faro). Very pleased with it vs our old Faro.
Autoshutter only works on the new HandySCAN Black+ Elite & Limited Clipping cards work with the HandySCAN Black Elite, Black+ Elite, Black+ Elite Limited 360 Targets work on Silver Series and all Black series.
I use a wire mesh normally used for fencing and 3d printed clips that are put to the wire and where the markers are sticked on. I made different sizes and made magnetic spacers or use clamps to hold the wire mesh in place.
Yes that is a great idea. One of our customers does that and I thought about putting that in the video. We have used the flexible nylon fishnets with targets on them but found they move around too easily and you have to start your scan over.
@@EMS3D that's one reason why I don't use the flexible nylon mesh. The other issue is that the cleanup of the mesh gets messy because it easily gets in contact with the scanned object. When using the wired mesh with spacers I only need to delete the scanned spacers and can the use the semi automated selection tools of the scansoftware to easily select and delete the scanned wires. However the downside is that you can only bend the wired mesh in one direction to follow the geometry of the object. So for a car for example you will need multiple meshes in different sizes to cover everything. And they also aren't easy to store and carry around and you need to pay attention to not scratch the object if its sensitive like the paint of a car.
Great video!! Over the last couple of years I’ve traveled to Thailand with my handy scan as well all over the US. I have designed many different target domes and even made my own tape strip with targets on it. Watching this video was amazing
I would probably use our SpeedTarget tape and maybe some other artifacts like our targeted rods. Check out this video for more details. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Y8tdxqNw9Jw.html
@@EMS3D Wow, that's very expensive. I am considering opening an eBay shop where I want to sell 3D printed things for various purposes. I have thought about buying a 3D scanner for this purpose, but the professional ones are quite expensive. What can you recommend for a maximum of 3000 USD for reverse engineering ? Resolution, accuracy, and details are most important things to me, I want scann small as well big obejcts (max 1000mmx1000mmx1000mm) .
@@arturvoskanyan2467CR Otter would be my choice in 2024 for 10cm to 1m. For small to medium parts the CR Raptor. The scan software gets better each release so far. Every month a new version. Last one with a firmware update for the Raptor and Otter too.
The scanner's camera captures up to 200 DPI, 24 bit color. As far as quality you can see some nice examples in this video ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-m3iaj5m3LK4.html
If you are 3D scanning the whole vehicle then the HandySCAN MAX is the best. If you are just doing areas like the front, mirrors, around the wheels, etc then they all do a great job.
@@signprintdesign3954 Sure you can use the peel 3 but it will require a lot of targets, scanning spray on many surfaces and time to scan (3 - 5 hours). The HandySCAN MAX will do it in 1 hour with few targets and no scanning spray and be more much more accurate.
Hey alexfang6784, prices change and varies with each country. Reach out to your local reseller for specific pricing. I can tell you the peel 3 (replaces the peel 2 in the video) starts at $8,700 USD and everything goes up from there.
Been using the Max for dozens of projects now. Almost replaces the Black Elite, except for very small very high resolution scan needs. Where did you source the mount for the phone/ tablet? That did not come with our Max Elite kit. Thanks!
good demo but you forgot to show the viewer where to click to trim as well as how you first began with the first sketch plane. I am new and was lost almost immediately.
Hi wfatv584 , These are not step by step training videos rather they are application overviews. They idea is to educated people on the general steps and processes for a given product or application. If you want step by step training we offer that as a service.
