I myself have one of these-which is white...these watches are CORPORATE wathes...the style of a dial expresses the corparate. therefore they could be called "corporate"...white -typical corporate in cities, in those high buildings, green suitable for big farmers with heavy technology and technique, blue - I dont know someone can help?

Have you tried the "cut off the double pass" technique? I've found that I prefer this across the board to take away the 2nd pass. On a single pass, most watches end up just fine. My problem with a nato on this one is just the odd color choice - most natos don't look very good with it.

Good review. San Martin SN0128 offers a much better value when competing it to the Pagani design. The Pagani design looks good but the QC with Pagani design watches are often well known.

This is true, but the Pagani Design has also fallen in price from when I bought my 3. They used to be in the $150 range, I've got one of my listed basically close to new for less than $80.

What happened to yours? Mine has been fine (and if you have seen my other reviews I've had the same thing in 4 colors - no major issues other than making sure to use loctite on the screws), bezel action (though a non-ideal 90 click) and crown action actually beats out much more expensive pieces on all 4 of them - so that is some positives for the QC.

I've got several Paganis. For the price, you honestly can't beat them. They're no Rolex, but they're just as good as a $500 Seiko, if not better, for 1/5th of the price.
@ArtoftheDial
@ArtoftheDial 5 месяцев назад
I've owned about 30 of them at this point. If you get a good one they are fine, however - I've seen QC issues on a few of them that Seiko isn't going to miss. The specs are great, but sometimes they fail on the execution. I've moved on to San Martin, except on Quartz pieces that are not on stainless. For this 1688, the bracelet was so terrible, Pagani had to send me a replacement (which was at least passable). I now have it on a silicone strap but the lug length is so short, none of my plethora of other straps fit it.

The pagani’s isn’t really burgundy. I don’t get why Tudor people have tried to convince everyone that red in darker light is burgundy. Burgundy is red with some purple in it, not just darker red
@ArtoftheDial
@ArtoftheDial 5 месяцев назад
I agree. The color I'd prefer is likely Maroon not Burgundy. Neither of these get it quite right, but the Pagani is closer to Maroon than Burgundy (to my eyes). I only used Burgundy because that is what people search for when they talk about the Black Bay.

Depends on what the rest of the collection is like. Dark blue if it is one of the only watches I had. But if you have a large collection with a bunch of boring dial watches, the "egg shell blue" provides something very different. The egg shell blue one will really only match a few things (greys, whites). It clashes with many light, medium and somewhat dark blues, greens, etc.

Thanks for the video. I own the V2 in blue. I wasn’t crazy about it at first but now I love it. In the black version, I do prefer the darker black in V1 to the grayish one in the matte version but I’m still considering buying the newer BB54 one. Your video helped me appreciate both versions.

@charliealva4833
@charliealva4833 4 месяца назад
@@rpc061963 Hi! I’m not sure if I can say that the blue in the dial matches the one in the ceramic bezel. I guess that I’d say most of the times they don’t look like they’re the same blue but that doesn’t bother me at all. What I love about this watch is how the blue changes with light, it’s amazing. Also, at first, I wasn’t loving the blue AR coating in the glass, I thought that it was too intense but now I think that it goes perfectly well with the watch as it makes it more blue. One thing though: as in many San Martins, the bezel is not correctly aligned with the dial. This doesn’t bother me a lot as the rest of the watch is close to perfection but I thought you’d like to know this. Also, if you’re interested and if there’s a way for me to share with you the pics I’ve taken of it, just let me know and I’d be happy to do that.

Yes, for the price I paid - it looks great and feels solid. I do wish the Rehort was the gray stainless look instead of gold but other than that it looks great. The clasp is a different design than all my other ~20 something San Martins but it works well and plenty of micro adjusts. I do tend to baby a watch like this - so those that are rough on it, I have no idea how scratches on the "gold" parts of the bracelet and bezel will fair. The little stuffs I have on mine are just fine.

@ArtoftheDial
@ArtoftheDial 6 месяцев назад
I have lots of videos, and no I haven't done lume shots as frankly they provide no value unless you are comparing it to a universal known source due to the way camera exposure works that is simply different than human vision. Any advanced photographer or videographer knows this. As for the micro adjusts, I'm also aware that is one term used to describe them. As an update, I now have a better fit with this two adjustment system when I changed it up and removed a link and changed the one micro adjust. Still isn't as perfect as the new "on the fly" san martin's but this watch also costs between 2 and 3 times what that clasp alone costs.

My v1 have aluminum bezel inserts. These feel like a mix between the BB Heritage and the Pelagos (square indicies). I've moved on to San Martin for this general look though they are pricier. What a lot of folks forget....sapphire is not the end-all.....it is more scratch resistant but less shatter resistant. Mineral glass is more shatter resistant and less scratch resistant. IMO.....get mineral glass and apply a clear vinyl watch protector.....been doing this on my watches and have never had a scratch. Almost entirely invisible.
@ArtoftheDial
@ArtoftheDial 6 месяцев назад
I've personally never done anything that would shatter sapphire myself, but over many years have done a few that would have scratched Mineral. I agree sapphire isn't the end all be all, but everyone should think about their lifestyle and the way they wear a watch to have some context around which option might be best,
@TheWilferch
@TheWilferch 6 месяцев назад
@@ArtoftheDial...all true enough....my point is that you get the best of both worlds with a lens protector-over-mineral glass..... at maybe a $3 cost for a pack of three to use. Also meaning it should then not be seen as a deal breaker for some watches if sapphire is then missing.

The watch is really enjoyable to wear on a nato strap though. Cheers!

I haven't experienced the binding once it is on wrist, but agree the tolerance there is not the level we have come to expect from them.
