Thank you!! I had wanted one of these for years, as someone at my local field let me fly theirs for 10 minutes some 15 years ago. I definitely couldn’t afford one back then with what they cost new! This SuperXtra is nearly 20 years old-I found a deal I couldn’t pass up. The composite airframes-if taken care of-can look as good as new thousands of flights down the line. This one looks nearly as it did from the factory and I believe it’s made it through 9 owners and over 6000 flights. Good deals are out there, and I’m sure you’ll find a great airplane if you keep looking long enough! All the best.
Of course!! Hope to see ya flying something cool soon! 😊 And yes, I didn’t realize how long this airplane had been around, but all the owners prior took great care of it. If you treat them like a real airplane, pre and post flight them, you can keep them flying a really long time. I’m actually about to start restoring and recovering a balsa airplane that I love, a BTE Flying King that’s around 30 years old and I’m really looking forward to that process. The hobby was one of the best parts of my childhood and I’m super happy to have gotten back into it! RC flying is the best. 👍
@@overrotate good luck on your project. I am currently working on a project to design and fly the worlds first supersonic remote control airplane. Only thing I’m missing is funding at this point. But I am absolutely confident that I can do it once I have the plane built.
Thank you! It is not mine, as I’ve delivered it to a friend who just purchased it. I definitely enjoyed flying it as I always do-Tcrafts are some of my favorites-the wing is amazing. My favorite one I’ve flown is the Moss MT-1, N6115. One of a kind clip wing acro machine. Absolutely excellent airplane!
My T-Craft was sold and delivered by me to Bozeman about 20 years ago, I have not seen enough of the video to see it's it MINE yet.... nope, mine was hickory brown and Daytona white. My only cert bird in 40 years of experimental types, I have very fond memories of how well it flew!
N95833 is the tail of this one! T-Crafts are one of my favorites to fly. The wing is excellent. Quite amazing what they will do on 65hp. There is a variant of a Tcraft built by the legendary Jim Moss, called the Moss MT-1. One of a kind modded into an acro machine. I’ve had the honor of flying it and it is probably my favorite high wing monoplane to fly aside from my own Aeronca Defender. Feather light on the controls, dead straight and true, beautiful airplane. Its tail number is N6115 if you want to look up some pictures of it.
@@overrotate This may be hearsay, but after flying behind a Rotax 912S with a few mods the last 3300 hours, and with my 118 hrs. of T-Craft and a few thousand in other slow movers, A T-Craft with a 912S would be a heck of an airplane! Too much hassle to make it legal of course. Nearly as light, maybe AS light, as a A-65, burns the same amount of fuel, but pulls like a very strong 0-200 of a bit better. I swing a 78" Prince prop on my RANS S-7S, thanks to the reduction gear. I had to put new spars in mine, I saved the old ones of course (way non airworthy) and bits of pieces of those spars are still in use, one little strip pads my arm when I open the window and hang an elbow out, more used for my extended baggage, good karma! Having said all that, I have to admit I loved that A-65, especially the sound it made pulled back to idle.
Hi Joy, thank you, I’m glad you enjoyed it! You have the George Meyers Little Toot and Big Toot? I did a trip last year in a Little Toot, great airplane! I have a video of it on my channel.
Wow! You just took me on that flight with via your video! It’s great! Such a beautiful airplane very well taken care of by its previous owner, and now to its lucky new owner! Yes, I agree with Dark Horse, Brandon is a great pilot, and a great guy!
Hi Brandon Paul Rink bay side member from Fremont.Did you guys find a new field since this one closed? I back in the bay area .Hope we have a field to fly at 2021? Happy flying...
Hey Paul! We haven't to my knowledge. I would love if the club got hold of a field again. Still a club and holding the yearly auction. Was unfortunate we ended up losing this one! Happy flying to you as well.
mc_aviationphotography Matteo It's from ElectrotekRC.com! If you give Robert a call or a message he will work with you and craft the set custom to your aircraft. Great guy who builds quality lighting stuff!
Woooo so glad the club has a field again. I have been flying off and on over at Baylands park. But got my start at Bayside RC back in 2009 with rotorcraft. There are some awesome folks at Baylands park but I have always preferred the club environment due to it being a little more structured. I'm going to come check out the new field Saturday if the weather hold up. Otherwise I;ll try and be there next weekend to check out the scene. I let my AMA lapse so it seems like it's time to renew. Cheers! Oh I have a bunch of old videos from the old airfield in my videos here on RU-vid. :D
@HeliDragon510 Hey man glad to hear you're still around and flying!! I remember all the old videos, you have a two part one of my Yak at the old field! Definitely come check the field out man, it's turning out quite nice! May see you there if I have some time this weekend! Brandon
Thanks guys!! Yak5408, I know, Quique's airplanes are some of the best flying planes around. I believe he stopped building them because he partnered up with Hangar9/Horizon Hobby where he designed a nice biplane called the Beast. Would be nice if he brings some of his older designs back! damafia29, anybody can fly well if you put the time into it! Stormranger6, A lot of simulator time with a newer RealFlight or Aerofly Pro Deluxe helps with the fundamentals of it before you try in real life.
@3DShock My Edge had a Moki 180; the airplane was a little heavy with a smoke system in it, but it still pulled well. Most have used either the 1.80 or the 2.10 with pretty good vertical. The 120 is probably a little small for an airplane the size of the Edge, but if you could get it light you could probably make it work. A fellow flyer got an Edge to weigh about 11 lbs with a Saito 180, and at such a low weight it flew unbelievably well. How is the pullout with the 120?
Pretty much when you get an airplane in that size, whether it's an Edge or an Extra or Yak, they all will have their own unique characteristics to get accustomed to, but they will be able to do anything you throw at them without a problem. The first time I flew the Yak I was surprised at how easy it was to maneuver and how much more time you have to work with going to a bigger airplane. Whatever choice you make you'll love flying it! Mavricextreme, Benni0077, and all you guys thanks! Brandon
RockingGuitarPlayer1, yep it does have 8 servos on surfaces and one on throttle; two each wing, one each elevator, two on the rudder. 3DShock, I'm 17; as far as the Edge, that's awesome, my first real giant scale was the same H9 Edge as well! The bigger Yak is much more stable and easy to fly but I loved that Edge. As far as a bigger plane, it really comes down to which one you like best and can afford or are willing to save up for.
Thanks a lot guys! 3DShock, Thanks man! Anybody can, just takes a little time! Yak5408, absolutely agree, and they're great flying planes! Trivion, how is your new Yak flying? Snobbstech777, not sponsored like the top guys, my Dad and I just fly for fun. It's safe enough for the airplane as long as you try all the new stuff up high first and really get it practiced well before you bring it down low. Awnryass, right before 2:41 it is an inverted flat spin. Thanks guys! Brandon
I've been saying for the longest time now that I'll get another video up, been busy and just got the airplane flying again after sitting for about 10 months, so we'll see if I can get some new video up from it soon. Thanks again everyone, I appreciate it! Brandon
djmisterpee- Thanks man! I think the maneuver at 4:50 was a very tight rolling harrier circle (hopefully that's the one you meant) mauror79-Yes it uses stock DA mufflers and a Menz 27-10 prop, same setup it has always had, plenty of power! It's been the same plane throughout the video, it's now been flying since about May of 06, and overall it's probably a good 6 years old including the time it sat before we purchased it and built it.
Wow, I haven't checked the video in a while, and I'm surprised! Thanks for all the new comments guys!!! Agree with all of you guys, 3D is great for getting the adrenaline going, but I certainly have an appreciation for precision flying too, I think it's a little more difficult than 3D up at any level, takes a lot of discipline to get it right. I love sport flying now, just taking a plane like a Cub to the field and relaxing with it too. It's a great hobby to have.
That was some great flying. Very inspiring as I am learning to fly 3D. Too bad about the haters though. Why can't people except this style of flying? I can fly pattern all day long and get bored. Nothing gets my adrenaline going like low level 3D stuff. What, this sport doesn't allow for extremists? Its called pushing the envelope. Try it sometime, very rewarding in the end. Again, great flying and video! 5*
