2:10 had to smile where the guy is asking about firearms and fruit in the same category but I remembered this is Australia. I had to throw an apple out of my bag getting off at Hobart airport once.
Thanks for the video. My Transalp has the Quickshifter and heated grips installed and functional, no fog lights. But the menu you were showing is on my bike gray and doesn't allow to select on or off. Yes, I can switch the QS of in the QS menu, but not in that one you explained in your video. Any idea why!
Depends on what style of riding that you are looking to do. KLR 650 for more distance/hard top but it is a very capable bike, I have had two KLR's and have done a fair bit of off road riding on it. DRZ for more off road, it's lighter so easier to maneuver and pick up, but not as good on long distance rides. Also check out the CF Moto 450, I reckon that if you are considering a KLR also look at this bike. CF Moto cheaper to purchase, I think more power, lighter, good electronics, heaps better brakes, suspension etc and they are getting really good reviews.
@@HardPackedADV thank you for taking the time to respond i will probably end up doing 70% road 30% off road so the klr 650 is for me i think especially the adventure model the reliability of the cf moto still remains unproven the Suzuki and the Kawasaki are safe bets so yeah
Hi, nice vid. The link you gave for the Spot light bracket is now dead & I bought another though it was the wrong size. Do you have the exact name for the bracket? Thanks
Just got the same Kovix disk alarm lock for my DRZ a few people have attempted to steal mine I use padlocks on my rear sprocket the lockwood heavy duty padlock from bunnings actually saved my bike from being stolen once then I added the Kryptonite newyork lock for extra thief proof
What an awesome video Marty. That's quite ballsy stuff indeed. I wouldn't be comfortable doing it myself, but then I have not 4WD or off-road bike experience really. Hey one thing that worried me a little was you filming the cars drive by you. If they suddenly slid out a bit you might've got hit. Just be careful buddy.
Thanks, Yeah there was one car that did not know that I was there. Most car drivers were communicating on the UHF and we would give them notice that we were coming their way as a heads up, also our support drivers relayed info to them. But yes it would be easy for something to go wrong and it's a long way from medical care.
Awesome stuff - coming over from WA in September so it was great to see the process. Apart from the waiting game to get onboard it all seems to run smoothly.
Great video mate very enjoyable. Love the montage, we appreciate your hard work. Much drier during our crossing Ayre creek was passable 500 meters south of main crossing. Heck that was an interesting approach to big red 😅
It was not the best approach to Big Red. I will do it differently next time and with more speed. I hope all is going well with your journey, let's catch up soon,
@@HardPackedADV No you did well mate, I was referring to the inland sea as you approached. Yes having a great time. The horse trailer you saw seems to have been abandoned. Unfortunately the CSR is flooded so that is a bit of a bummer I was looking forward to it.
A magical place a lot colder and muddy when we were there last week. Made the hot spring all the more enticing. Very thought look at the springs well done.
Hello Martin, Thanks for sharing your adventures on the Simpson Desert Ride; Fantastic, well done you held on so well and the Big Red was huge.. Safe Travels....David.....Adelaide/Kilburn....Triumph Scrambler 1200X............
4:02 *disgusting. That's North Tech for ya lol. How many flies did you eat? I bloody hate them and carry one of those face nets with me as well. And I didn't expect so many people there at the water hole.
Hello Martin, Fantastic travels up North, well done, interesting conditions; Its good to be well prepared and to have people around you. I hope to catch up with you soon about the TAAT section for SA.... David....Adelaide..... Triumph Scrambler 1200X
Funny u say about Flies and mozzie tag team. Me and the wife said ... these bastards are like Ralph Wolf And Sam Sheepdog . I think we were Mt Dare.. relentless AS
Yes for sure. I have now got two bikes, I also have a Honda Transalp. I could have kept the T7 for touring as it was quite capable. It is a really good bike, but not for me.
Greetings Martin; Well that was very exciting, Thanks for sharing; I am claustrophobic so no way would I go down there....safe travels... David....Adelaide Triumph Scrambler 1200X.....
Glad your ok, but c'mon mate, the title is a bit of an attention grabber, no? It did not EXPLODE, it deployed exactly as designed! I have one, have you to drop with it, but love the peace of mind..
Gday mate. I got some stedi c4 s. Do you reckon i could hook them up the same way as you did no issues. Just asking because they are bigger powered lamps. And i Brought them eith mr from Australia .Cheers . Got same bike in france.
Try not to laugh, sneeze or cough. These crash bars ger a bit of a bad wrap by some but for me they certainly do the job. And I have subscribed to your channel, and will check out some of your videos. They look interesting.
lol "fat ass", y'know that tasty feed isn't going to make it any less so hahaha. Anyway, good video Marty. I'll know to avoid that place for such events. Not my scene I've learned.
Hello Martin, what a fun ride, good dirt roads...I am not a fan of sand.... Good fun and a worthy cause.... David....Adelaide/Kilburn...Triumph Scrambler 1200x
Good video how have you found the Motoz GPS off road? I have a Transalp which is 3 weeks old today I have done 2,500 kms on it just got back from my first camping trip on the stock tyres they were better than I expected on easy gravel roads and forestry roads but the rear is starting to wear already. So I am starting to think about new tyres I do like the Motoz tyres I want something that will be better than the stock tyres off road as I am not that confident off road and need all the help I can get. I do probably 95% on sealed roads but on the occasion that I venture off onto unsealed loose gravel and sandy tracks that we have here in WA I will probably be alone so want something capable. I was thinking of the Adventure rear and a dual ventre front but maybe the GPS would be better suited for what I do. I am an older rider 65 this year 😁 Thanks Peter
Hey toffee I have the adventure rear and dualventure front on my Tenere 700 and I love them but I do a lot more off road than you, and air them down a bit when I do. They are ok on road but not ideal, you may want to go something more 50/50 as hard packed suggests, or better still, do more off road riding! Good luck.
I have Adv gps rear (50/50 direction) and dv (tubeless type with tube fitted) on my Suzuki 650. A great combo imo. I just got back from the Flinders and they performed well again. 1150km and about 700km of dirt.
