It’s really a treat to see this considering I’m planning on doing a degree in electrical and electronics engineering and a degree in hydraulic civil engineering because I love large scale city drainage systems.

I am surprised, like you, that a such a very short pipe put up a big resistance to an unblock. Maybe the force of the sewer and jetter were equal. My first idea could have been s short metal rod to break the seal, but still would have met the same problem.
