Hey! I'll mostly be posting Splatoon stuff here. From art and animation to competitive and casual content. Hopefully you enjoy and stick around! Thank you so much for any time you give me!
1 year later and I just got the Splatune 3 album recently. Listened to this immediately, and I was in heaven the entire time!! Splatoon music is a genre of its own and I love it!!
0:42 i'm literally a casual and clam blitz is honestly the mode i have the most fun in during anarchy,, and also the only one i can somewhat consistently win
I got this version specifically from the Splatlands Invitational 2022, but there's now a MUCH higher quality version of all of the C-Side songs with endings, on the official Splatune 3 soundtrack.
@@inteleonmasterdavid319 You can get it here:www.cdjapan.co.jp/product/EBCD-10014 I'm pretty sure this is the only one on youtube. There was a very small few days where you could listen to the entire OST but now they've all been taken down.
I don't think we should remove superjump, I just think we should all automatically have stealth jump. I love the chaos of jumping right in, but I get hit by a e liter every time even tho I have dualies and if not those, drop roller. Stealth jump would make it so much fun. Hide in the ink and signal teammates to come your way.
I think that if you want to relax while playing the game, Splatoon 2's hero mode is better, but I personally like challenging levels, so I prefer the OE.
Damn liking the Splat 2 hero mode more than octo expansion is kind of insane?? I mean i can understand liking the characters more (even if OTH is my favorite idol group) but fundamentally the levels are so much more enjoyable and unique in octo expansion. Also it brought octos to the surface which is way more impactful to the splatoon world imo
I notice that the only people who are okay with crab meta are the ones who get to use it on one of their mains. I'm not saying they're biased or "whats wrong with the game", it's just an interesting correlation. Clearly the special itself is well designed and fun, its just *too* powerful for everyone else's sake, so I guess I can understand the sentiment of it being better than splat2's meta
Well I don't actually main splash or any crab weapons! I just really hated Splatoon 2s meta if I'm being honest, both from the perspective of actually using the specials and the perspective of fighting them. While like I said in the video it's not good or healthy for the game, actually using the special is fun for me. Even if it wasn't the best special in the game I would have this sentiment and that applies for almost every special in the game for me with the exceptions of maybe missiles and storm. I do want them to make crab an actually balanced special but the point was more that the meta here is more fun than Splatoon 2s.
@@hide02 completely fair! I was pretty late to the splatoon 2 bandwagon so armor/missiles meta was all I knew. Luckily, splatoon 3 was announced right before I hit splatoon burnout and threw in the towel, and its definitely revitalized my love for the game. If only the special issue wasn't just replaced by the map issues...
Great video! You deserve way more attention, earned a sub. I only dislike crab meta because it doesn’t change that much, crab is decently designed special but it’s kinda only 2 splash or 3 splash comps. Besides that i actually argee with everything somehow
I think you underestimate how important super jumping is in the game, ESPECIALLY in Splatoon 3 meta. Without super jumping, chargers with respawn punisher would dominate the meta, the flow of the game would slow to a CRAWL, and the overall fast pace gameplay would be slowed down. Splatoon's whole thing is being fast pace, so if they removed super jumping, the game would be legit RUINED, and I am not even exaggerating here.
@@Inmortuae2233 I'm in X and have been since it released in Splatoon 2. And I am also aware that it would benefit chargers and slow the game down a bit. Again as I said there are better solutions to this problem.
@@Inmortuae2233 I see why it probably comes across that way but ig my attempt to clarify my view on it wasn't explained very well which is my bad. I actually really like super jumping I just think it'd would benefit from some form of tutorial on how and when to use it.
My Splatoon hot take is that Splatoon 3's story mode feels more like Order than Chaos. Like besides the Crater portion, Alterna, the fuzzy ooze, and the rocket feel more like Order stuff due to a science theming going on
Pretty good video. There were a few opinions I disagreed with, but only one of them I would really call outright "bad". I don't think it's fair to remove Super Jump from solo queue just because people aren't good at the game. Yeah, it sucks how much people tend to take leaps of faith, but removing a large mechanic like Super Jumping would make playing the game significantly more frustrating and unfun for everybody. You think Scorch Gorge is bad now? Wait until you have even *less* options to leave spawn. It would also lead to a pretty radical schism in the metagame and make it much harder for new players to get into competitive, because they would essentially be unable to practice online at all. Obviously solo queue is not exactly the same as comp as it is, but furthering the divide like this would kill a lot of people's interest in learning the game.
2:35 bro FINALLY! Whenever I think of the jam session version of clickbait this is always the bit I remember most and I just couldn’t find it anywhere until now
Unfortunately this isn't the official version of it. I've tried remaking it but unfortunately it's not possible without sfx. This version is made by pastelbird9260.
Great hot takes video! Didn't agree with all of them, clearly, but it's nice to hear reasoning behind them. I recommend checking out ProChara's video on the problem with 3's map design and fixed designs for each one here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-2ZLmzzNlE5w.html And CaptainAstronaut's video on what should be done to make Salmon Run better! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-7jJuGIdHTaA.html
I've actually already watched Charas video. It's a really good video and explains really well why the maps are so bad but also realistic fixes we could see. Appreciate the feedback btw!
I think a lot of these are very understandable but that bit about octo expansion not being as important story wise is WILD considering it brought octos back to the surface lol
Honestly, coming from splat 1’s hero mode to play splat 2’s unoriginal hero mode is what made me not like it as much as oe. While I agree with a lot of your options on oth and the new Squidbeak splatoon,, splat 2’s hero mode story was pretty bare bones with the same gameplay loop from splat 1 which was made even worse by myself playing every single stage with every weapon. I think I would like splat 2’s hero mode more if it let you actually play a different hero weapon on stages that force you to play hero shot or even add different routs that your average hero shot cant take for example a charger or splatling having a shortcut through those things you shoot in the sky that’s too far away for a roller or hero shot to hit
i also much prefer the squid sisters and squidbeak splatoon in general, but i still would say that octo expansion is the best story mode in the series so far, just because the levels felt more creative and fun to go through, while the hero mode got kinda repetitive (i also didnt like the different weapon mechanic at all). not to mention it had an overarching story, agent 8 was her own character almost, and the final boss was more fun. idk tho i still prefer callie and marie to pearl and marina
I do agree that tricolor is better than Shifty Stations, but I do kind of feel like it shares the same problem with it in that it kind of just... gets stale after a while. I feel like it arguably worked better in the first three Splatfests where you weren't guaranteed to get it and teams were set since it made getting the mode feel more special and playing the mode more meaningful and distinct. MY hot take is that letting any team get defense/letting mirror matches occur wasn't the proper way to fix tricolor since it completely destroys the point of it being a catch-up mechanic. My recommendation for how to properly fix it follows this three-step plan: 1. Fix the point system. An asymmetric mode is a cool idea but it being so asymmetric that the team on defense has to win 3x as many battles as offense to get the same amount of points is kinda wacky. 2. For the Splatoon 2 fans, mix the concepts in Shifty Stations and tricolor together. If queueing into tricolor doesn't guarantee getting a tricolor battle, just make it into a third map. Purposefully skewing the balance towards favoring offense but including a special gimmick like in Shifty Stations to specifically help defense could also be a neat idea. 3. Add a map rotation for tricolor. Please. When the game first released we already had three tricolor layouts. Why couldn't they have all rotated instead of just having one map per fest?
I really like Tri Colour and while I think I do prefer being able to play it at all times I can see why you feel that way since it does feel a lot less special now. I think the idea of having it be a way for the losing teams to catch up is really cool but rn needs something similar to what you suggested to help make the mode feel fairer.
A compromise between the two might not be a bad idea actually. Even if they did what theyre doing now with reworked maps but adding more wild gimmicks ON TOP of the existing maps.
@Hide Maybe instead of using existing maps, new ones all with different settings would be cool. I don't like the idea of using one stage that we already have for tricolor and the "shifty station" vibe got old quickly
@@TheBetterCrustacean I think the ONLY problem I'd have with that is that they'd be locked behind only Splatfests. So I think I'd rather existing ones for something like that. But I do agree the aesthetic for Shifty Stations being the same every time was boring af.
