Lot of typical Gen Z comments from kids thinking that if they would have put in the effort and time they could be a GOAT in anything too, only mommy and daddy believe that
If Anyone wants to know WHY Max is So Good on F1 Restarts after a Safety Car when he is the Lead Car…this is WHY! The Amount of Practice he has of Rolling Starts on iRacing is Insane! Proof that iRacing can Make Professional Drivers Better in the Real World!
Mate the top end you had wasnt great but i reckon you were way too polite in the race. Karting the bump and shove is part of it and you can absolutely push that for advantage. Some of your overtake moments like in that sharp left weren't the best when there were corners ripe for it before that. Especially in that second race. A few times there too you could've followed a few guys through on the pass but didnt. Id chalk this up to a super solid first few races and just needing some more experience in karting to learn those finer points of the style. I wasnt anywhere near this when i started frankly im jealous of the p6 ane p13 first time out 😅
haha probably right - that move i made into the left hand hairpin I ended up with a pen for, so didn't want to necessarily gain a reputation of being a bandit immediately ahha- will aim to find a middle ground this weekend in round 3!
Karting and Sim Racing are so much different than people really think. I remember getting more serious about karting this summer and joining a club/league only having done indoor rental karting and sim racing for the past 2 years. The main difference, for me atleast, was getting used to finding massive rotation and controlling it under braking. Instead of trying not to lock your tires and trail braking towards the apex, now your taught to slam on the brakes, try and brake the slightest amount of traction, and counter steer towards the apex while slightly holding the brakes and flooring at the end trying to keep momentum. The other thing you learn about is the physicallity and the forces you feel in a kart. Having more than 1 point of feedback really helps you and changes racing completely. Sim racing can simulate real life racing to a tee, but what it can't simulate is the actual feeling of real life racing.
You love to see it. Let's be honest, many sim racers think that they can easily replicate on track what do do on the sim. Gforces and speed in general quickly give a dose of reality. Gives you a whole new respect for those on track. Nice one Tobin.
You drove solidly that day and rightfully deserved to win race 2. I had a terrible day but I thoroughly enjoyed going wheel-to-wheel against you during the shootout. Congrats and hope to see you at round 3 🤙🏻
Looks like you havent done much wind tunnel testing if your top speed is lacking? You'd best get onto that before the next race so you can improve your aero and downforce...
These karts don't have aero or downforce and don't need wind tunnels because they are rentals. Neither would owner karts. And more downforce would decrease top speed...
Awesome video mate..very unfortunate on heat 2. Looks like your kart did not have good pace compared to the first one..hope to see you again in future rounds..btw im the guy in orange🙂
Hey tobin good racing last weekend, very unfortunate to see you in p13 when you have good pace. I was also racing that weekend and was the person that one both heats and i was right next to you in the first heat on the grid with a white lid and orange visor
