Thank you! I appreciate your comment, and I will - in all honesty - say that I believe I had my tiny little part in all this. BUT in the end, it's Eric and UTA who listened. Kudos to them for this and for refunding all the previous customers. The 20% off discount I have available to my Patrons still stands, so at $99 it's getting almost a no-brainer!
Hey Patrick! Yes, and we get an extra 20% OFF if you are a Patron of mine. I think this puts it way back into anyone's scope, but as usual there is no excuse not to demo it to its full extent and find out if you want it added to your bag of tools. Hugs,
Thank you for the kind words! I agree, it does sound amazing. It's so relaxing to type on it, I have always thought that the sound of these things will affect your 'office hours quality of life' but I had no idea it could be this much.
Good idea, I will edit the description. Although I am not aware of the customization Nate did for me (nor the switch type, but I can find out!), I am 100% sure this is the product he sent me: epomaker.de/products/ajazz-ak820-pro?_pos=2&_psq=pro&_ss=e&_v=1.0 I have been using it since I got it (I replaced it after the stream, that day) and it is amazing!
I have it connected to a patchbay, all channels cascade through it so I can go out of the audio card, then into gear and then to the summing box. If I don't plug anything that way, the audio card goes directly into the summing box, it spills all of its 16 channels into the 16 channels of the summing box.
Glad you liked it, thanks for staying with me and enjoying the videos! Looking to see you in one of the streams to greet you personally! Until next time!
I thought it was made available a couple weeks ago for Spark subscribers? You might very well be right, I live completely disconnected from this type of news!
Thanks Alberto, would be great to see you making shorter videos, I like your content, but videos of more than 30 minutes are difficult to watch in today's time constrains. Regards.
Absolutely, thanks Arturo. You are right and that's what I try and do with all the streams: a video version will soon be available, with usually a more-condensed approach! Coming soon!
I had Omnisphere, amazing piece of software but I sold it. It took too much diskspace (I think 50 GB or something?). I forgot how amazing some stuff is within it, for example the acoustic guitar and especially the choirs! Very impressive! Thanks for the review of the MixWave stuff. Watching it again :)
You are most welcome, AND you are right: Omnisphere is a staple, it's become a classic of classics. I am partial to anything Eric has done in the years but it seems the consensus is that Omnisphere has established itself as a foundation ;)
Awesome conversation!!! You can tell you guys are having fun nerding out on audio stuff together. And i learned a lot about the plugin in the process. Really honestly one of the best plugin videos i've ever seen
Thank you so much for your heartfelt comment, from one synth lover to another it means so much to me. I am glad you liked it. I'll keep doing more, thank you for keeping my morale up, in times like these it's even more appreciated!
@@synthsforbreakfast Exciting moment! Enjoy your BS2, it's one of the few 'new things' I'd add to what I have, if I did not have it. It sounds great to emulate things but when you let it be itself, it's even more amazing.
Great video, Alberto. Can you kindly provide the knobs specs & models because I`m having trouble finding the right ones and don`t want to make any mistake ordering. Thank you!🤘
Que aula!! Muitas vezes tento usar meu o bass station para imitar o Moog, mas ver essa aula que mostra o bsII como bsII abriu minha mente. Incrível o que ele pode fazer!!
Thank you! Glad you liked the master class, it's a great synth, I have it next to me all the time to my right, and I have been composing with it, as a MIDI controller as well. It works, it feels nice, it kicks major b*tt too!
Hi Alberto, very good video, I would like to know how you have fared with this equipment after a year of use: "Past novelty" would you still recommend it? What useful uses have you found for it and what not, etc., etc. Thank you very much, a hug
Hello Patricio, Absolutely, it still does what I said it does (back when I tracked the video) and there has been nothing that does it its way, in the past years, on the market. Nothing came out that really made me think it's surpassed or obsolete. It can be a niche application to some, but in a world where outboard gear is - let's say - 'changing its role, interestingly' (to avoid saying 'disappearing ;))' - the Freqport is analog enough and versatile enough to avoid breaking your workflow. Two things I can add after an year: 1. I have analog gear that broke and is waiting repairs (my DTC, my 2-Bus LT, my L2) but the Freqport hasn't flinched. I am starting to hate the 'need for maintenance' that analog is showing me, but I also have to say that some pieces are over 20 years old, others even more. It should be tolerated but... when you cannot work because something has broken and you are waiting to ship it to a tech and wait for them to fix it, it takes a month and a bill with at least 2 zeroes on it, to fix it. It's almost outside the comfort zone because - in all honesty - I can still do my job as a composer without it. So that's food for thought. The Freqtube is a bit more 'new analog', filling its role without being ballast. 2. The more time passes, the more I am sensitive to workflow. It has always been a top priority for me, but now it's even more important. I am writing more and more music, it has to be fast, on point, sent to the project lead and evaluated... the pace is getting hectic, the pay stays the same. I have to be fast and optimize my workflow. The more time I spend NOT composing, the worst my music will be. Any piece of equipment that slows me down is getting a crosshair on its chassis (same goes for software, like DAWs and plug-ins). The Freqtube is respectfully there, not demanding attention or setup times, what it does, it does. I hope I replied with more than just a Freqtube analysis, but an 'open letter' to what it means to make music these days, for me. I hope to see you on my Patreon!
Dear Alberto, thank you very much for your reply, and you confirm what I imagined about the good things Freqport could have/do. On the other hand, it's good that after a year of intensive use (in your case, since you're a professional) you haven't had to change the tubes (can you change them yourself?). I'm sorry to hear what you say about your work and HW; the good thing, in my case, since I'm not a music professional but I'm very demanding, is that after trying probably 99% of the plugins, I simply got bored and decided to stick with 3 to 5 equalizers and compressors that are at HW level and my good Channel Strip HW (Manley Core. I think that "capturing the sound" is the essence, it's more effective -and cheaper- than trying to improve a bad recording later in the mix with expensive compressors and equalizers). That's why FreqTube seems interesting to me; Also, because I definitely love the sound of tubes (a matter of taste), and I prefer to spend money on changing a couple of tubes than buying more and more plugins forever,…, the eternal promise. Thanks again for your response and encouragement with your work, I think the answer is in your response in which I commented on finding a quality workflow, at the same time, easy to use. A hug,
I'll see if Focusrite wants to endorse the giveaway, we'll probably get a 4th Gen, instead of the one like I have, which is 3rd Gen! Both are awesome in different ways, in my opinion!
Nice plugin but there have been no updates for this whatsoever I think its one of them that will fade away which is a shame really, I mean really after all this time how can this still be on version 1?
You are right, well - I did not find any issues with the plug-in but it is true that it seems what it seems. I know Erica Synths has been super busy with their 'real' stuff but I hope their plug-in line becomes actually full-fledged, as they clearly have it in them to do it. I wanted to cover more Erica Synths hardware in free RU-vid videos but things have not worked out in terms of their demo units coming my way. Maybe if we all write them, they'll recognize the need and :-) I'll be able to cover their whole product lines in a dedicated master class section, I'd love to and I can certainly make them work for the music I write! Fingers crossed!
The Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 (4th generation) is a 2-input 2-output high quality audio interface for musicians and creators requiring good quality audio at an affordable price. Thanks
I have to be honest, this was a. Incredibly frustrating review. He barely ever turned the plugins on and off so we could hear what they were doing, he talked wasaayy too much and the bubbly synth sounds he chose were a terrible choice to hear what was happening sonically. Thanks for the effort but please consider these points in the future.
Thanks for watching (even through the difficulties) and moreover for taking the time to write me in length about what you thought. Much appreciated. I treasure your feedback and will use it to keep improving. I cannot make any promises beyond my good will, because I am just a broken person doing things my own, broken way. So thank you even more for your patience!
@@hauntedbytheliving1175 I completely agree. Informative video however the amount of filler and repeating himself was nauseating. That video could have been so much more watchable as I had to skip through most of it get useful information.
Thank you! I am working on it, fingers crossed there will be more of these full courses, I have plans for the Novation Peak as well, to cover it in-depth with a full course, given the interest this video sparkled. Thanks again!
💸🎓UPDATE: MixWave is currently working on a program for academic discounts. Such a program is not fleshed out at the moment. More details will follow as soon as things evolve.
@@grungefire This is the main post for all the discounts that Patrons get with me, they need specific proof of eligibility that only active patrons get. I try and keep it up to date with new endorsers: www.patreon.com/posts/57327399 Mixwave is running a sale right now, and the discounts don't stack so my recommendation would be to grab them right now, if you want to buy those plug-ins!
