We have new & vintage toys, vintage & new video games and systems, art of all kinds, non sport trading cards, digital cameras & toy photography, and slime!
I shoot everything with a Canon EOS R with RF macro lenses: 35mm, 16mm, 28mm (non macro), and 50mm. I use the following softwares:
This is super sweet, I love how excited for the packaging you were!! We didn't have VHS in those white cases as much, just cardboard slips, but it's super iconic regardless. Congrats on the chase, your Mum is amazing :)
Those are great shots of Evil-Lyn and Skeletor! I just ordered, Teela and Evil-Lyn as a set. Now I only want some specific Cartoon figures. These two females were top of the list. Stratos and Beast Man are probably next. Though when the She-Ra Anniversary comes around, that Seahawk will be on the list.
Thank you!! 🙏 Those are a great set of favorites 😄 For me, I'm excited to get Evil Horde figures from the Cartoon Collection the most. Though, I started out with the same idea to just get some of my favorites but once I had a few in hand I fell in love with them.
Thank you! 🙏 It was a lot of fun to make and not very hard. I used foam board, pink insulation foam, foam cement, paint, plastic Xmas tree ornament balls, and sealant. ☺️ It took about 2 weeks total.
No, I played guitar, drums, keyboard, and sang in the original recording 20 years ago. I have an archive of old music that I made back then and have been feeding clips of songs into Suno AI to make covers of them. It's just a fun little thing I started doing when a coworker told me about Suno.
They Origins one is not that hard to find in Brazil, and not expensive for our standards. Too bad you couldn't find it, it has the best vintage inspired head because of the better paint application. I think here you could order at least 10 for a resonable price.
Hi Douglas! Once again you did a great video and it`s a pleasure to watch. Spikor is a great figure. I will pick up him when I find him on retail. He`s awesome. best regards from Germany.
Thank you very much for this nice video of Webstor. I also added this figur into my collection. Are you old enough to watch the original he-Man cartoon in the mid 80s?
Thank you!! That was me. I didn't write the solo. I just learned how to play it for the video. The song is so catchy. I have another version coming up soon that is more epic sounding.
Surprising, and what an original initiative 🤟. It's once again very well done, precisely like the numerous and superb photos which accompany this piece (particularly a fan of the passage "Castle Grayskull sorceress, protect us with light" 🤟) ... And on top of that I discover that you are a very good guitarist 🤟😁. You're still a UFO among MOTU RU-vidrs... And that's a compliment!
Bop of the year! And the pics look awesome! I especially love the ones at the end with He-Man, axe raised ready to strike Skeletor in the Land Shark and Adam & Cringer doing what they do best. Great job!
Doing better, thank you. My entire channel was recently demonitized because of a "free to use" song that I used in almost all my videos. It was a bummer and I had to spend the last couple weeks making my own assets, music, etc. New stuff is ready to film now.
This figure looks dynamic. The head sculpt is spot-on. 👏 I appreciate that you mentioned that the more detailed, standard Origins boot sculpts are being used for the Cartoon Collection, as in the animation we did not see such detail. However, it does not matter to me at all. The boots all look fantastic regardless. I suppose the only nitpick one could make is Spikor's boots should be dark brown, not shiny black reused from Origins Tri-Klops. But again, I don't think it detracts from this figure's overall look at all. In fact, I think Spikor was inconsistently colored with black boots in a couple frames in the series, so Mattel is just keeping in time. 🤣
Thank you 🙏 I had a big hiccup that I'll explain in an upcoming video, but I'm actively recording now and have something special (MOTU related) coming up.
Difficult, once again, to be more detailed than this review, which also concludes with very good poses giving an excellent idea of the possibilities of the Spikor Cartoon collection... This is a very fun figurine and rather well stocked with accessories, even if you are right to point out that a pack of hands (and why not a few faces) would be welcome, because that is really what may be missing to perfect certain scenes. That being said, it seems that with a little imagination this Spikor offers quite a few possibilities. I really like the head, very well articulated and no less well sculpted. It has never been my favorite character in the series, but I must admit that it is very well reproduced, and is for me one of the most successful Cartoon Collection Figures. Thanks for this great new review, Douglas :)
I would never buy that Filmation garbage. The cartoon was trash. The thumbnail for this video just proves my point, they look absolutely terrible. I didn't even like it as a child. They ruined most of the awesome toys I was playing with at the time, especially Mantenna. I'm still waiting for the real version of Two-Bad to be released in the Vintage Collection.
the Filmation MOTU series was awesome! the Filmation MOTU series was not trash! I'd love to have the Filmation figures! I can't believe anyone would say they can't stand the Filmation MOTU series and say it's garbage! it's much better than the crap that's on television nowadays! cartoons nowadays suck!
I like your video. very nicely done. Mer Man looks great and I`ll buy him, when he is available in Germany. I`m a massive Masters of the Universe fan and collector. I started collecting in 2008 and you can imagine I have an amount of Masters figuren. Vintage, 200c, all Classics, Origins, Masterverse Revelation and Revolution figs and New Adventures Vintage and Princess of Power toylines. I have them all. You are very kind on camera and I like your voice.
Wow!! Thank you so much! 🙏 That really means a lot to me! I can only imagine how large your collection is today! I only started collecting around the time Masterverse came to be though, I do have some old vintage stuff too.
Hi, Douglas! These are so cool! I am a fan of Madballs as well and just discovered that these exist. Great review! I really need to get my hands on these. They look awesome. I subbed! Happy to support a fellow RU-vidr!
Thank you!! 🙏 I subbed to you also! These vinyl ice cream bars are so awesome on my shelf and so easy to take photos of (probably because I love Madballs so much). I hope to get a chase Slobulus one day! 🙏
I got mine from Mattel Creations. It sold out so freakin' fast. It's a brilliant set. The box & artwork is worth the original RRP alone. Not so much the 2nd hand scalper market though. It would be nice to have a couple of weapons included, but I'm still happy with it.
I agree. Honestly, it seems to me like $50 is an absolute steal for this set. As far as the weapons, it seems like Mattel just assumes that we have been collecting Origins this whole time and we have access to weapons, arms, bucks, hands, etc. So that we can use them with these new sets. I didn't do that. I (originally wasn't) really a big fan of the original Origins line and got into it recently when I started collecting the Cartoon Collection stuff 😅
I didn't even know he was available for pre-order. 😅 I tried to snag him from Mattel Creations as soon as he dropped, but I was mysteriously blocked from the website while checking out and was prevented from adding payment. That was crazy and I still don't understand what happened. Mattel kills it with their exclusive packaging for sure! Roy Jaurez, the packaging designer and director, is so very creative and talented, and he is such a kind and supportive human being. I applaud him always. 👏 (and no, you're not crazy - those were magnets 😉 😊) I love the interchangeable legs feature, and I think it should be the standard moving forward.
I would guess aggressive bot protection. Some client software maybe be making additional http requests to sites, e.g.: in the case of browser plugins, that either show additional information about sites and pages, or even ad blockers may screw with the bot detection. I've seen ad blockers drop JavaScript requests and maybe one of the indicators of bots is the lack of JS. Not 100% sure, and not defending the MC site or anything, but it could have been anything. Heck, even IP address if you use something like a VPN to protect your identity. When I was an information security engineer (years ago) we got a lot of attacks from threat actors using VPN services, like Nord, so we ended up blocking, or at least carefully monitoring, IP addresses of usera that matched those in Nord VPN IP address ranges. Idk, coulda been anything, really. Maybe just Gremlins? Lol
@toyboxnostalgia Ah, I see. Yeah I assumed it was nothing deliberate from Mattel. I don't use VPN but I do remember watching Mattel interviews with Pixel Dan about how they were working harder to combat the bots, as previous exclusives sold out astronomically quickly. Something flagged me - perhaps my last name? Like, this last name is so crazy, he absolutely cannot be a human. 😂 Though I actually do prefer to believe it was Gremlins. One of their employees must have fed them after midnight.
This is a review that I was looking forward to because it really goes into detail. And frankly, this Two-Bad Cartoon has everything to please (except perhaps the acquisition mode, not to mention your mind-blowing misadventure with Mattel 😅). The art work is absolutely magnificent, you could almost use the open box without the blisters to photograph or display the skeletor gang 😁 it's so reminiscent of the interior of Snake Mountain (or something like that). Even the booklet is super well thought out, with two reading directions. Everything is beautiful in this pack, and makes you want to create beautiful scenes, because even if no weapon is provided, the character is original enough to take different poses, according to what your review shows. Very happy to see, also, that Mattel took care of every detail, such as the sculpt and color of the boots and gloves. I wonder, however, why such details were sculpted on the joint balls of the thighs? In your experience this makes the figurine more rigid or not? In any case you offer us yet another review of very good quality, truly exhaustive and which exudes enthusiasm... And which makes you want to see even more with this Cartoon collection, definitely full of good surprises 🤟. So I hope that you will soon reach 1000 members and obviously more, it will be well deserved because it's so professional (why the hell doesn't Mattel entrust you with the presentation of these figurines? 🤔). Thank you for this video and for the rest 😉, I can't wait to have this figurine in hand in order to put it in scene.
Thank you so much, my friend!! 🙏 Is there anything that you think I should change to make the videos better? I wish that I had more time to make videos every day. There's definitely no lack of content these days - too many new toys!! 😅😅😅
@@toyboxnostalgia Honestly, I don't have any suggestions to make at the moment since everything is very clean and very detailed. But if an idea comes to me I won't hesitate to tell you, my friend :)
Holy cow. That's an insane price. I don't know who to talk to (or how) to get Mattel to fix their supply/store/shipping/marketing issues. They surely are losing out financially and fan-wise imo and will continue to do so if the don't internally review their processes.
It seems they choose 1 store in each state to carry motu.😡Canceled my pre order I have 2 on the way Luckily I have a friend in another state who helps me stay in the game at cost yeah I pay shipping but it beats wasting gas
I hope BBTS get Spikor & Clawful in stock soon. I already have to wait 2-3 weeks to get them shipped to Australia. I haven't heard that The Sorceress is coming to the CC line, but she's gotta right? She's a main. Same as we need a CC Kobra Khan. If Mattel make a Filmation scale Orko, they should do a 2 or 3 pack with some other Trollans. And yes there was a Club Grayskull Clawful apparently, I just looked it up. Great review as always.
Nice video, even for me who is not a fan of crossovers. Although the basic idea (the Ninja Turtles characters in Eternians mode) is not so bad, even if personally I never appreciated the Turtles license. On the other hand, for this umqyi is of the figurine presented... Wow! Already the packaging: to my knowledge Mattel has always used superb illustrations to highlight its products, and this character is no exception to the rule: the art work is simply magical. The figurine too, with an impeccable level of detail and finish. When we see the cape made for this "Splinter Skull", we are entitled to wonder why Evil-Lyn Cartoon collection did not benefit from such treatment. Too realistic perhaps? Anyway this figurine is very very successful, and the review with it. Once again very good image quality and exhaustive presentation, great work Douglas 👍
Using the Eternia Minis Orko to recreate that stock image was brilliant. 🔥 You are correct, Orko is not usually that small. As much as I love Filmation, I think that scene with Clawful was an inconsistency in Orko's actual scale simply to portray his capture, and, to highlight Clawful's "grip of evil." Yes, the Origins Orko is way too large of a scale, as the 1984 figure was. I have him posed with my Club Grayskull figures on my shelf, and have only photographed him with Club Grayskull figures. In my Origins collection, I have the Loyal Subjects Orko displayed. If Orko is scaled too large, it just looks off. Though I understand why it is so. He's an important character and deserves his own sku. Though, scaling him down properly would not give you the bang for your buck, so they make him larger. Personally, I would prefer to always see Orko included in a 2-pack, like the Classics line, so his smaller, proper scale would not be an issue. Sorry to go on and on about Orko as this is a Clawful review. In think Clawful looks great! I dig the colors on this guy. Interesting that he doesn't have the spikes continuing down his upper back like in the series and on his Club Grayskull counterpart, thought I honestly don't think it detracts from the overall aesthetic at all. Looking forward to finding him on the pegs - or his delivery from BBTS - whichever comes first! 😂😂😂
Wow, what a review! First thing: the image quality and viewing angle, which allowed me to appreciate the real proportions of this Clawful Cartoon, but also of the mini Orko, which I had been wondering for quite some time if it was adapted to Cartoon scale. Answer yes, and it will do the job while Mattel publishes the little magician in the Cartoon line. I agree with you regarding The Sorceress... I think it won't be too long before we hear about her since this is the second time she's been Teased. You know what I think, I bet a Zoar / The Sorceress two-pack 😁 Coming back to Clawful, I also don't own the Club Grayskull version, but from what I see in this video it's not a big deal since the Cartoon version is very successful🤟. The colors are flashier here, it's true, but it remains more in line with the 80's cartoon, especially since the face is very successful. Finally, like you I'm hoping for a huge Castle Grayskull (in which case RIP Wallet 😂), because it would indeed be a scene to reproduce... Especially since if it's you who takes care of it, we can be sure of the result given the care you take with the image. Your shot on the villains, at the end of the video, gives an excellent idea of what the Cartoon range is becoming (i.e. an essential 😁). I digress for a moment to tell you that I, who am French, take enormous pleasure in watching your videos because your pronunciation is perfect, the rhythm cool and everything very exhaustive. So I hope that your channel will gain the success it deserves because, sincerely, you present something very professional and very accomplished each time. Thank you for this superb presentation work, Douglas, it exudes passion and enthusiasm, and it obviously makes you want to discover your next reviews with this Cartoon range 🤟
✅️ Love the review. ✅️ Love your shirt. ✅️ Hate that anyone would have to pay scalper prices for figures currently at retail - especially for toy reviews & photography as fantastic as yours. We got your back, have no fear. 💪 ✅️ It never occurred to me to connect his head to his ass! I'm officially ostracized from the Shits 'n Giggles department. ✅️ This is a great Leatherhead figure! And beautifully speciific to the T.O.G. canon. My favorite ever? Hard to say! love the NECA Leatherhead packaged with Slash so much. 🐊 ✅️ Vote for Shredder
Absolutely. It's already here. I just have a few videos to finish editing and publish first (WIP). I had some time away from the channel to grieve the loss of a close friend. I should have two videos out this week if all goes as planned. Also I am increasing the video publish frequency. Thank you so much for the support, it means the world to me! 🙏
