Couldn't believe this worked first try omg 🎉🎉🎉 six growls and two tail whips in the gym kid battle like someone else mentioned seems to do the trick nicely as well! My little trickster refused all the poke balls I threw right up until the very last 😂😂 Also got him to level 100 from his first battle! Awesome stuff 😄😁👍
Don’t let Pikachu get past level seven. In the forest you have to battle all of the guys on the right hand side when you are coming into the forest. (Don’t attack guy in middle like video shows!! On guys on the far far right of forest. Get already 9 poke balls & you will need 2 potions & a rope. I picked a pidgey to battle the guys on the right of forest. Id Pikachu is to strong which is past level 7 it will kill the rare Pokémon making this hack useless.before attempting to battle at Brock’s drop off your extra Pokémon.
You can also get a level 100 Nidoqueen doing a very similar method. With the last trainer in the forest you need to encounter a wild pokémon as you step in front of him triggering a battle before he notices you. Faint to that pokémon and warp back to Veridian City. Then head west and against your rivals Eevee growl six times. When you reenter the forest a similar thing will occur. It's a little more difficult to do. I recommend grinding a caterpie up to Butterfree to gain access to stun spore to make it slightly easier for the encounter as you want less money and more shots limited on pokéballs. Edit- You can get both of them if you are careful around that trainer in this video not to trigger him too early. And it is doable in virtual console on the 3DS.
You can do this 3 times fairly easily before fighting Brock and the trainer in Brock's gym. You'll need 3 escape ropes ($550 each!) though, so you'd have to fight every single trainer except for the long distance trainer, find all 5 of the free potions, and the 1 free pokeball. Then you buy 5 pokeballs, and 2 escape ropes. Then you can do the glitch twice to get your first 2 gengar, and if you get lucky with the diglett battle and especially with catching the gengar, you can sell the rest of your potions and buy a 3rd escape rope and have at least 2 pokeballs and still one potion left. Then you do the glitch again, except you only have 2 pokeballs to throw, so you really have to get lucky. After fighting all the trainers for the money, your pikachu will be level 9, so you can't do a thundershock on the level 1 gengar because it will 1 shot it, but pikachu learns thunder wave at level 8, so you can paralyze it instead to boost your catch chance (at full hp) to about 10.5%.
For those that are curious, this is a combination of two glitches called “Trainer Fly” and “Experience underflow”, so you can look them up if you wish.
"Shh... You'll scare the bugs away." Well, it sure didn't scare this amazing bug. Did the developers put this in like the mew glitch for red and blue? I will try this tomorrow after i findy yellow ver cartrdge
You cant have higher than level 7 pikachu or he will kill Gengar in one attack. You cant catch Gengar unless you weaken him. Lose your battle to Gary at the start, plus run from every pokemon that appears. Only battle the two trainers in Veridian Forest. Also, buy at least 10 poke balls... I dont know how he catches him so easily but it took me about 6-7 to catch him. Hope that helps.
If you beat Gary beside the Pokemon League before going to Viridian Forest and without catching ANY Pokemon or buying anything beforehand and going back to Prof. Oak, he will give you 5 Pokeballs. Not sure if that'll make a difference though, but now you have 15.
