I honestly didn't think much about it playing it, watching other ppl just take the deep dive into things like what happened to the butlerS son or the dying characters that become your masks and even if link was already dead at the start. It was a cool entry.
I personally think Majora’s Mask is one of the best Zelda games, but it’s definitely the most unique in style and gameplay. I fondly remember renting this game for the N64 from the video store, those were the days. Especially since we had to go back to the video store to ask for an expansion pak, otherwise the game wouldn’t even play. We never beat it as kids, but it has left us with unforgettable moments, which give the biggest hits of nostalgia nowadays. Great video, I loved it!
Thanks so much! Google "Majora's Mask Recomp" and that should lead you in the right direction! It's a recompilation of the original game, and it's LOVELY! I highly recommend it!!
I played a Jumping flash 2 as a kid 😀 I gave up on a Japanese temple style map 😂 It was... it IS beautiful. I want to recreate main character in Blender and its environment once I finish my current project 😊
That is awesome! I wish youtube communities were ready because I'd love to see this posted when you're finished! It's awesome to see someone else enjoys it so much!
@@pixelbrolee They look pretty cool to me at least. only like $20-$25 too. search up "Retro Oregon Trail machine" there's a whole bunch of different kinds but the one i got has a small screen, and the movement buttons are in the bottom left.
This was a cool overview. It’s nice that you showed games from different platforms. Many only “remember” the nes, but there was so much more. From what I understand (as a european to be clear) is that the Oregon Trail was even used as an educational game, since it was grounded in the american history. But maybe I’m wrong. Some of my fondest early childhood memories come from edutainment game like Freddie Fish and Putt Putt to name a few.
Thank you so much for watching and for the kind words as always! You're absolutely right-the Oregon Trail was indeed used as an educational game in schools, especially here in the U.S. I think that's where I first heard about it! It really blended history with gameplay in a way that made learning fun for so many kids. And I love that you mentioned Freddie Fish and Putt Putt! Those edutainment games were so charming and unforgettable- I think I had some of those on PS1 back in the day, though I've since sold them. It’s awesome to hear that they were a big part of your childhood <3 Thanks so much for always taking time to watch and comment on my content, @cronosvids <3
I think we HAVE to seperate "best" from "most influential". Just because something was first and openned the doors for others, doesn't mean it holds up over time relative to its peers. Dragon Warrior 3 is an overall MUCH better game than DW1. I would encourage you to continue to play through Dragon Warrior 3 and revisit your list.
my 3 yr old asks me to play lion king :) She LOVES making Simba growl and jump on the bugs and lizards :) I love that she learned how to do all this on her own just by watching me play leisurely :)
Daw- that's adorable! Sounds like she's going to be a great gamer one day :D the first game my daughter actually played on console was Castle of Illusion- I'll never forget her excitement when she beat the first level!
@@pixelbrolee Lol I think I need to find something easier for my little one! I've been looking for a decently priced loose copy of any type of Mickey games for the SMS or ps1
@@pixelbrolee It was my weekend rental go to when everything was rented. It had enough toughness to keep you entertained for the weekend. I finally ended up buying after too many rentals! realized I could have bought 2 games for the amount of times I rented it 😅
@@elodvezer1790 We did the same thing with Super Smash Bros for the n64 back in the day lol eventually one of my buddies was like "yo we're going to buy it" or at least his parents decided that haha
I think Dragon Quest/Warrior I is my least favorite NES RPG and definitely my least favorite game in its franchise. II improves on it a lot while III and IV are both massive improvements over the first. How des an RPG limited to one on one battles with a single character party plus the lack of a class system or a reasonable way to influence or control the stat growth of your character rate the top slot in an NES RPG list?
My appreciation of it is the simplicity! It's sort of like Pokemon in that sense, as it's one of if not the largest RPG franchises despite being incredibly simple. There's something to be said for that! Admittedly, it has every fault you shared, though! It's understandable that you'd question it :) thanks for taking the time to comment!
It's TOUGH! I'd recommend the NES version over the home computer versions! The NES streamlines some stuff, which I found pretty handy! Thanks for watching and commenting, bubby <3
Ghosts 'N' Goblins also released in 1985. May be one of my favorites from the year. Are you doing every year chronologically? If so, I'm excite for '86.
It released in arcades in 1985 :( I wanted it on this list but i don't like the arcade port at all! Looking forward to putting it on the list when it came out for NES :D! Yeah! Chronologically is the plan. What's exciting about 86? Castlevania?
@@pixelbrolee well, I keep thinking about Japanese release dates. Which would have Dragon Warrior(Quest) and Legend of Zelda. Though we didn't get them until 89 and 87 respectively. Though Castlevania does still make 86 exciting.
I do love me some Dragon Warrior. But depending on the strictness of the rules, I would have tried to find a way to weasel Metal Max onto the list. I did only play the SNES remake, but I loved it, and I have been meaning to find the NES fan translated version to compare. Not sure why that series never really came state-side. If I was a kid and you told me there was a game that played like Dragon Warrior, but you could find and build tanks, I would have sold a kidney for the money to get it... Actually, I may have just answered my own question...
Man- you just opened a whole new wormhole for me. I didn't know Metal Max was on the NES or SNES! I'm only familiar with the newer iterations of it! hahaha. Yeah, dude- an rpg with robots for the NES would have KILLED in the states! Thanks for sharing and clueing me in! I appreciate you!
Given SEGA decided to make a genesis Mini instead of what Creative Cat Productions said about a Master System Mini given it was going to be its anniversary and sold well in Brazil. It could be anything, including a SEGA Saturn Mini.
A master system mini and a saturn mini would be awesome! What a great way to get people to play these older games that are so difficult to access nowadays. I'd love to see a Sega Channel side on the Switch and Gamepass with Dreamcast and Saturn games!
@@pixelbrolee given The Genesis Mini 1 included Darius which was never on the original console, what games do you think they could try to include which were never on the Saturn at the time of its release? Maybe the original Tempo on 32X so we can have both games.
@@pixelbrolee I just remembered SEGA made a mini voting poll in 2023. It had Saturn, Dreamcast, and a Genesis 3. And Saturn actually came in first with 88%. So SEGA Saturn Mini, here we come.
@@CornelioLazarus-sg4gx GAH! That would be so fun to get ahold of. It really is an excellent piece of hardware. It's such a neat system that really exceeded its grasp.
@@pixelbrolee u're welcome, and you definetly should, I never met anyone who took this weapons to final battle. I'll try again soon after a replay of SF3 translation v25
I got a soft spot for the first dragon warrior. It was the one time my mom was a gamer, and she had a notebook full of clues and dialogs from the npcs and such, she literally worked through that game with zero knowledge and basically handed me my first ever strategy guide so I could actually finish the damn thing. I of course joined forces with the bad guy at the end. Ahhh 8 year old me, thanks mom!
After a good bit of playtime, they're almost like those old cheat codes from back in the day like the Konami Code, just in slow motion like DDR or GH lol
I feel like it comes up quite often for me. That game truly is an experience. I think a lot of it had to do with Shigesato Itoi not being a game designer by trade. It's remarkable! Thanks for sharing your thoughts, temper :)
@@pixelbrolee It's a must play, one of the best series. I'd recommend 2 one the dreamcast and 3 on the ps2, just my personal favorites. Stay blessed!!🙏❤️🔥
As you should! It's so freaking good. It would be amazing to see that released on the Switch online store thing under the mature heading they just made!
