Tebaldi is the Elsa. I wish she could have done this at the Met. With the right moves I bet her reps could have gotten the Met to put this on even in Italian. The whole cast in the complete performance, puts on a tremendous performance.
Marc never got to the top tier in the opera world. I used to criticize her for not being polished .her singing was uneven. This was not one of those performances.here she's top notch
Pronuncia approssimativa…( “la NNotte placida”… “i bella in ciel sereno” “gli agordi di un liuto”…) è completamente fuori ruolo. Ci sono bravissime cantanti italiani che fanno molto meglio di lei.
J y étais et c'est un de mes meilleurs souvenirs d opéra..par une chaleur terrible et avec l anecdote de la robe de Margaret Price qui pendant la scène finale se relève un peu trop lors de sa chute et le malheureux Placido tente maladroitement de la faire redescendre...
This song does not suit her voice type and still she sung it absolutely wonderfully. The technique and skill involved in the way she sang this aria is incredible. Truly one of the greats.
