Currently in production: A series of reviews and analyses of the longest running Sci-fi show in history, Doctor Who. Each episode will consider a different Doctor's era, discussing, in-depth, their themes and tone, as well as nominating a story as my personal favourite.
Also in production: An unabridged audiobook of 'Matrix' by Robert Perry and Mike Tucker, one of my all time favourite Dr Who novels, long out of print. This will be a six part series with immersive sound design.
1:10:35 - Ah BUT, even with all this Doctor Who lore.....you forgot that 5 years previous "Bill & Ted 2" pulled this EXACT, same stunt and you didn't give THEM credit now did you? I'll bet no Doctor Who fan ever thought to go in that direction and do that sort of research :) nuff said??
Ive always had the same belief that although The doctor always had that humourous aspect to his character, he also had the serious part of his character which contributed to the overall tension of the stories during the Hinchcliffe era . This was lost during the Graeme Williams era where tom was allowed to go over the top with the humour and the tension of the series was lost. JNT quite correctly in my opinion reduced the humour and got tom to be serious again and i thought it was very effective. The golden age of doctor who (Hinchcliffe erea) was shot down and im not sure it reached the heights ever again, maybe briefly during season 18 and then in season 25
John Pertwee was very entertaining as a fighter with fists and words. Rest in peace Jon and thank you for a fun childhood. Thank you for these analyses. You are awesome.
Yes, indeed! Derek Martin was a member of the HAVOC stunt team who provided the stunts for the Troughton/Pertwee years! He later went into acting in the 70s.
I find this Doctor to be a stubborn ass. His so called acting is terrible. Every episode seems to be a more stubborn ass. They never listen they just yell. And The Doctor is just as bad. It is a shame that he gone off in the role for 7 years so I feel bad for the people who watched him in their childhoods. It's like your new stepdad. And he won't quit. I am so looking forward to the part where he goes into a time eddy in The Five Doctors and have Jon Pertwee return which I remember from my young years. Jon was an excellent Doctor. William Hartnell the 1st Doctor was very good as well. Sadly the last of his shows are gone. You have to rely on computer regeneration. haha. But the stories were better and Bill was more whimsical. I liked The Doctor. Tom, not so much.
I disagree. I loved when the time lords were around. It's what made the doctor special in comparison. I loked that the doctor could get them to back down, or when the 4th doctor having to do "jobs" for them
I hope so! The problem is they take an awful lot of work and this can detract from my main videos. I do plan on completing it eventually and do little bits from time to time. Thanks for your kind words!
Love these videos! When will we get the Capaldi episode he’s my favourite Doctor and I am a massive defender of his era especially his first series which I think is criminally underrated
Thanks! I'm working on the Capaldi era as we speak. I don't have a release date as of yet but hope to have it complete over the next few months. Hope you enjoy!
I always looked at the Time Lord victorious as something he needed to find the part of him needed to defeat the master and the Time lords. I doubt he'd have took the gun otherwise
I'm sure we're not supposed to take it literally that Martha travelled to every single place on the planet and spoke to all the people. It's just a GENERALISATION
Yo can't seriously expect anyone to believe that you regard all doctor who equally... Especially after that scene with the darleks being beaten with sticks juxtapositioed with a Decent Matt Smith episode .. That's just a cop out
I think it's totally plausible a darlek might commit suicide after failing a mission. Infact, it's a surprise that's not within their orders to do so if they fail a mission or to carry out orders
I get why you remade the first doctor video, but I am definitely dissapointed that we got it instead of a Twelfth Doctor review. No offence, of course, you've done an excellent job with this as always.
On his tantrum near the end I'm okay with it. Hes right. Wilson is old. Insignificant. Near death already. He also knows this is his last regeneration. After this he has no safety net.
On time lord Victorious. In reality with the loss of time lord society it DOES leave the laws of time in his hands. This would be an interesting side story.
I hate the teselector scene. The doctor had to die in that fixed point. The teselector isnt the doctor so he didnt die . Ehy does nobody mention this ??
I never got into 5th Doctor episodes. Big Finish got me with "spare parts". Best 5th doctor story even if the doctor has little to do with why I like the story.
