I had an experience much like Sir Frederick in 1971 and lost my job. In those days of my youth I rode a bike everywhere because I had no car. I got a job at an army base I guess five miles away scross the Trans Canada highway. I was a warehouse clerk filling orders for office stationery for other bases. It was kind of a cold and rainy spring and I developed a stiff back one morning and couldn’t get out of bed. I had only been there a week. While in bed I visualized myself riding over the highway overpass to the base. Next day I showed up for work. My boss asked me where I went the day before. I told him I was in bed. He said,” No you weren’t. I saw you riding you bike over the highway overpass. I drove right passed you.” There was nothing I could say and went into the warehouse to fill an order which meant climbing up ladders etc. to get items. Five minutes later my boss called me into the office. He said there was a phone call for me. It was the base commander. He asked where I went the day before. I gave the same answer. Then he fired me. They didn’t believe me and I guess as it was a military base they were suspicious. I may have been gathering intelligence on how many Pink Pearl erasers the Canadian military used to sell to the Russians. I wonder if they kept tabs on me for a while after I left and if I suddenly had money to buy a new 1972 Cadillac Eldorado. I didn’t but I did get a 1975 Ford Pinto going to college. True story. So these things happen.

I live in New Mexico and we’ve had several fires that were caused by the forestry department setting prescribed burns that got out of control: the Cerro Grande fire that almost destroyed Los Alamos in 2000, the Hermit’s Peak/Calf Canyon fire in 2022, and the Cerro Prelado fire that came within a few miles of Los Alamos in 2022 are three of them. Apparently the forestry department keeps neglecting to take the high winds we have here into account when they set their prescribed burns 🥵

I've never understood the Leonardo DeCaprio one in reference to having won two Oscars since it was one of the most cliche echoes over a 10-15 year duration in reference to him never winning one despite deserving it. So in reference to that one I'm not sure if there is a Mandella Effect there. It would depend on the type of person who thought he did. if they are the fair weather movie goers who have assumed that he did based on his praise.
