The remains of the people of Pompei were not petrified, they disintegrated. The bodies we see are plaster casts of the voids left when they disintegrated. The practice was started when somebody realized what the voids were.
The Egyptian heiroglyph thing drives me crazy because everyone just parrots the same old wrong information. The items depicted in them are exactly what they show. They are not a 'palimpsest' as I have heard too many claim. Using a big word doesn't make it so. It has to be proven. It is very easy to see that those particular glyphs are the original glyphs and that there is nothing impeding them or interfering with them, except for possibly small minds, that don't want to admit to the fact that there was a previous civilization on our planet before us, and that they were highly advanced and very technologically ahead. I think what is more believable, is that the ancient Egyptian people found the already existing Great Pyramid at Giza, and the Sphynx, and many other ruins, when they arrived in the area. They simply did what the Inca did when they found the existing ruins at Tiwanaku and Puma Punku in South America, which was to incorporate the pyramids and ruins into their own buildings and culture because the pyramids and ruins were as cool to them as they are to us! One pharoah even had the Sphynx re-sculpted into his own likeness. It is what makes the most logical sense when you really think about it. It makes more sense than anything else, really. Hopefully, it will at least get others thinking, and perhaps many years from now, it will be proven to be true.
Whoever tries to say those modern looking machinery glyphs were made by mistake, by parts falling off over time or someone trying to make corrections needs to be drawn and quartered in front of the Smithsonian Institute as an example to the rest of the idiot society of so called archaeologists or scientists or whatever there trying to call themselves to sound like they know what there doing. How these people are still drawing a paycheck is beyond me. Then again I know how, it's just to sickening to think about it, never mind say it.
