have you seen a situation where someone asks for the first 1-2 weeks of company housing and then switch to taking to stipend for the remainder of the assignment?
Interesting but this is 5 years old. They also pick up your rent, car gas and food. If you live in a hotel you pocket the extra cash with no utilities.
i have a 2 day weekend contract with a place across the country. Sat and sunday work only for one weekend. Should I get paid for travel time and travel expenses reimbursed?

RN 39 years-PACU 25, cardiac, neurology, SDS. On assignment after 8 weeks, contract ended practically driving out of parking lot. Always happy, never missed a day, picked up extra shifts, helped others. 2 regular staff no prior PACU experience ( mass exodus) one other traveler who had great experience. In 8 weeks I had 3 sit down normal lunches, rare bathroom breaks and at chips out of my bag with a pop closed in my bag. Most days 3 nurses. Leadership was seen maybe 3 times. Contract ended for time management. When you have only 2 or 3 nurses total for 10 bed PACU, you literally have no time. It was a race to get them to SDS for discharge. Each employee and the traveler called in office to notify them I was gone. They each said that I gave good information and helped them understand different things about the PACU. None of them have had an orientation to PACU. My recruiter said it was probably nothing but if it’s something I did then I want to correct it. Can you tell me “time management “ reasons so I never do it again. Thanks
Bad attitude??? Well when your treated like 💩, bad attitude is the side effect. Idk about anyone else, but 7 years in and I’m ready to walk away from the whole profession.
Usually they say that because they want to keep that in their pocket.. that being said though... don't know , every agency might be different.. I've have been paid for mileage and some say no so I don't sign with them
Can someone school me on how referral bonuses and extension bonuses work? I referred a nurse to my agency and they did not give me my referral bonus. I asked for an extension bonus and my recruiter stated that the hospital denied an extension bonus but I offered the extension bonus to the person I referred. Where is the extension bonus come from? And who pays out the referral bonus? How can I get what I’m entitled to?
Ask if they have a Covid protocol, left in a hotel room without a Dr. And footing the bills without getting a stipend due to lost hours is definitely NOT a protocol!
I would think a nurse with a history of jumping around would be a positive thing. Changing around keeps my mind busy. Hate being stuck in one place more than 1-2 years.
You should make a video that breaks down a pay package. (Stipens, differences between Blended Hourly, Per Diem Rate). I've gotten so many offers but not sure what's a good pay package and whats not.
I haven’t seen it on any of your videos, but what if you need to take time off DURING an assignment. I have a vacation already planned out and I’m about to move forward on picking an assignment. Will they let you take time off? Do you just need to work it out with the hospital during negotiations? Thanks for your insight.
I have a question about using several companies. So all these companies are going to call my references? I don't know about that. I ignore most unknown callers, and having numerous people calling me for a reference would be annoying (even if it's for a good friend)...
Yes I’m working on my first travel assignment and they wouldn’t go forward without hearing from my references. Thankfully it only took a day for my references to return my recruiter’s call.
What if my tax address is my dad's house...I don't really pay rent but the cable bill and help him out. How do I "duplicate" expenses so that I won't have to pay taxes on my $14xx weekly stipend?
I am about to travel again . I traveled three years ago and I’m doing it again to find the location I love the most yo open my own business. Last time I traveled I used my own car when I worked for Titan. They actually gave me extra every week in my pay that my current travel agency will not do. When I took assigments with Titan they paid for the electricity , cable and Internet for the apartments I was put in. They did not reimburse me for scrubs. I think they should since every hospital has their techs wearing different scrub colors. The agency I am working with now does not reimburse for scrubs either but reviews said they will pay for two sets of scrubs during the year. They will pay for tolls ( if you ask some travel agencies will some will not ) and all of the agencies I worked with paid for mileage on the way to the state I was starting and way home. I have found that every agency I worked for pays for different things. You just have to ask before you sign contract.
So funny that literally the FIRST thing Flexcare Staffing told me was that if I submitted jobs with multiple companies I could get into big trouble. SMH.
In a field engineer job that I had the notion of being late has become very relative when I was paid for forty hours weeks like in my contract but asked to do seventy hours weeks to feed both days shift and night shift with procedures. When you're in the eye of the storm of a retrofit keeping the company on the doorstep of bankruptcy and you're in charge of doing the report of the next retrofit who will give the final push toward bankruptcy, you begin by putting a lot more effort on your bailout plan then on the excel spreadsheet bling bling of the next retrofit.
Looks like the presenter doesn't tend to be the one answering responses. Thoughts on the difficulties with the short orientation? Learning the software, staff, physicians, physical layout, contacts within the facility, etc? Also, I'm an old fart nurse of 29 years. I'm probably just going to retire outright, but I'm pondering travel nursing.
I feel like you should be in your A game if you’re traveling. Saying that, I prefer to know the system software, so I just have to orient myself to how the facility does their charting rather than trying to crash course EPIC in a half day orientation. Usually the job listings tell you which software they use so maybe try sticking with something your more comfortable with so it’s not overwhelming
